We stayed two nights and enjoyed the large kitchen table, where we worked on a puzzle and enjoyed our meals at the cottage. Everything was comfy, and cozy!

Annie's house is an adorable, cozy but spacious, and clean place to stay. It's convenient to the interstate, airport, and all the activities in the greater Cincinnati area. We will definately look at staying again when we visit.

We stayed here because we wanted to take our family of 6 snowboarding at Perfect North Slopes about 20 minutes away. Loved the little neighborhood this house was in as well. It kept us warm the night it snowed, bed was cozy, water was hot, kitchen was a perfect size, and the kids all loved it too. Not far from Cincinnati and we even spent a day at the AF Museum in Dayton.

Everything was very smooth and we were able to get in and had plenty of sleeping areas with a good amount of blankets and pillows. The kids enjoyed going to the games room both evenings. Thanks.

The house was perfect for us to come back to after a day of football games and being outside. It was nice to have a yard for the kids to play and to be able to cook and not be in a hotel.

Overall this was a great place to stay and I would recommend it. She keeps it clean and it's nicely decorated. The house has all the basic necessities, and a very comfy king bed which we enjoyed. We wanted to use the charcoal grill outside but couldn't find any charcoal/lighter fluid. Decided to make the burgers inside on the stove. I found the charcoal & starter the next day (darn it!) in a lower cabinet by the kitchen back door. But I take the blame for that. I didn't reach out and ask, I simply figured we needed to purchase it ourselves and we hadn't brought any. There were a few pesky cobwebs up high but I know they can come quickly even w/regular cleanings. This is an older home so the bathroom is small but serves it's purpose (one at a time). People should set their expectations accordingly - this is a very poor little town; the house is in town in a residential neighborhood. But it's a safe area - kids are all outside playing after school, riding bikes, etc. It has a field across the street and we sat out on the porch, watching 5-6 deer come down to feed at dusk. Neighbor said the deer come down often, so that was beautiful to watch. We got a 3 day bouncer pass to the Creation Museum (10 mins away) and Noah's Ark (50 mins away) so this was a great location for us since museum was close. You also cannot take your own food into the museum so if you don't opt to eat there, you can make the quick drive back to the house to grab lunch. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a jam packed week. We went to the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, Cincinnati Zoo, Newport Aquarium, Dave & Buster’s and lots more and this home was at the heart of it all! It is an excellent location for everything we had planned. If we are ever back in the area we will be staying here again!

My wife and I and her sister and husband gathered. at the River Cottage. We are from Wi. and they are from Georgia. This location was halfway for the 2 couples. We enjoyed the Creation Museum. The facilities were outstanding for us. We could visit, eat and drink and just enjoy the fellowship. It was great..

Honestly, every location will have things that are not your favorite. That’s normal, my least favorite aspect of the trip was my interaction with the host after our stay. I expressed some cleanliness issues and she was quite dismissive with her response and no apology was offered. Which is fine, but it definitely tainted our stay.
The good. It’s in a quiet little town, where everyone knows each other and kids play outside. ❤️ It’s a short walk to the river where we watched the sun set every evening. It has a covered front porch to sit under while it rains. It was mostly clean, especially bedding/towels. Close enough to Cincinnati to go into the city every day.
The bad
While the location is literally only a few miles from Kroger (as the crow flies) it’s a 30
Minute drive because of the winding roads.
The little store in town does have a few things though.
The dishes were dirty in the cupboards. The fridge was kind of dirty and we found some cockroaches. Honestly, having things a little dirty wasn’t that big of a deal to me. As that’s life. The toilet and tub were clean.
When I told the host about the dishes, her response was that dishes were not her responsibility, that renters were responsible to wash them.
When I told her about the cockroach, she asked where as she hadn’t seen one in the four years, we saw a few, I told her the location and her response was ok.
I get that things go wrong, I understand that not everything will be perfectly clean all of the time, but the response to it seemed super dismissive. 🤷🏼♀️ Those are my two cents. I wouldn’t rent from her again, but only bc if things went wrong, I don’t think she’d care much to correct it.

Family trip to Creation Museum and Ark Encounter
Quiet comfortable location close to Creation Museum. Beds for grandparents, parents and 4 kids (4 to 13). Kitchen to prepare meals - no fast food places nearby.

Good location
This property is nestled in a small neighborhood in a little community. It is clean, quiet, and comfortable. While staying there, we visited The Ark Encounter, The Creation Museum, and the Cincinnati Zoo, which were all under a 45-minute drive. The Creation Museum is very nearby. We did most of our shopping and eating in the nearby town of Lawrenceburg. The house had pretty much everything that we needed, and the beds were very comfortable, especially after a full day of touring. The owner gave and left clear instructions and helpful hints. We enjoyed our stay.

Beds and bedding were wonderful, air conditioning worked great. Overall room for improvement- clean the bathroom and kitchen cabinets and make sure the dishes are clean. Put pulls on the kitchen cabinets, my husband hurt his finger on a drawer. Spiderweb in the bathroom and a spider scared my daughter when we first arrived. Don't falsely advertise the gameroom, it's not on site so not helpful for us with young kids. Overall fine just not the 5 star rating we expected from other reviews.

This house had plenty of room for my wife and me, our son and his family of 8! Total of 10 of us! Quant historical town, short walk to the river, convenient to Creation Museum, The Ark Encounter, and the Newport Aquarium... we enjoyed them all during our stay. Enjoyed conversing with neighbor, "Mountain Man Fred" who filled in details about the history of the town.

Nice stay .It had everything we needed. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
We weren't sure about the where the extra parking- there was a truck in the way of the grass alley.. We did try to call the phone number from the whiteboard in the kitchen, but we weren't sure of all the numbers. We tried two different combinations- but no luck. We made do.
The river cottage was just what we needed for our Cincinnati weekend.

It was easy to find and very close to the Creation Museum. The game room was fun for the kids. I only wish it was a little close to the house. TV had plenty of options. There might be closer grocery stores, but we ended up 20 minutes away. We wanted to get some groceries and stay in after our day of activities Z this was perfect for that.
