Our host was lovely, helping us get setup with public transport, a guide to Cotopaxi and also offered to make meals if we wanted (with an extra charge). They had warm blankets and the shower was hot, which made the colder temperatures in the region nice.
Our host warned us about the dogs but they had a puppy that got a little mouthy with our kids. He was playing but we couldn't let the kids wander the outdoor facilities because of them. The dog was never a problem for us adults and was very friendly.

Aracely was super nice and spoke English. She helped us book a last minute day tour to Cotopaxi as well.
The rooms were nice and the beds were comfy with warm blankets made with alpaca wool (or llama? Can't remember).
Shower had super hot water.
The room layout was a bit weird - towel hooks right above the headrest of the bed, nightstand far from the power sockets.
The shower is a bit small.

Very nice shared kitchen, great lemon verbena tree to make tea with! Aracely is a fantastic host and makes sure everyone and everything is well taken care of. I would definitely return to the property if back in town. They also have 3 very sweet dogs :)

Loved everything about our stay at Mateospaxi! The owner Aracely was so lovely and accommodating from providing amazing cooked meals, tips and transport to the surrounding area & Cotopaxi. It was a very relaxing & beautiful experience, the property is located just out of Machachi town in the country side. Felt safe to walk around and through our stay. Highly recommend!!!
