Situated in Newfoundland and Labrador, this charming cottage for $244 per night is a great option for your next break. Stays are a 3 night minimum during peak season (July/August) and holiday weekends, a 2 night minimum for shoulder or low season. Stay 7 nights and get a 10% DISCOUNT during peak season, and 20% DISCOUNT during low season. Tuckamore. This new distinct saltbox style home is tucked into the hillside overlooking Trinity Harbour and the small outport community of Trinity East, Newfoundland. The all-season house commands a spectacular ocean view of the local fishing community and historic township of Trinity across the harbour. Located halfway along the Bonavista Peninsula, a three-hour drive from St. John's, and just off the famous Skerwink Trail, Tuckamore grants easy access to some of the best of Newfoundland’s breathtaking coastline. Active seasonal adventures, whether by land or sea, include: iceberg viewing, whale watching, cod jigging, capelin harvesting, boat touring, sea kayaking, fresh water canoeing, hiking, swimming, bird watching, berry picking, ATVing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and storm watching. Cultural events in the the area, include: live music, local theatre, art gallery and museum exhibits, art and heritage workshops, cooking festivals, fine dining, and more. Within walking distance of Peace Cove Inn Restaurant & Spa, Fishers' Loft Inn Restaurant, Port Rexton Brewing Company and Two Whales Coffee Shop. This highly energy-efficient home was beautifully designed by local artist and house designer, Frank Lapointe, and completed in 2016 by an award-winning construction crew from Sweet Lumber Ltd.. With its high ceilings and timber frame interior it stands out as a unique coastal home that melds contemporary open design with traditional East Coast saltbox architecture. The home’s great room provides plenty of space - for simply lounging, or entertaining in front of the Norwegian gas fireplace, or enjoying the view from the dining room table for six, or cooking up a storm in the fully-equipped gourmet kitchen. The upper hall entertainment alcove, as well as the great room, each sport a large flatscreen TV with Satellite Cable service and Netflix. The two upper bedrooms, which boast floor-to-ceiling view windows and vaulted ceilings, share a full bathroom with double-sink vanity. The master bedroom on the main floor has its own ensuite bathroom. Outside entertaining may be done on the southwest deck, which also includes an adjacent gas grill for outdoor cooking. Tuckamore (def.): a strong wind-pruned evergreen found on the top of coastal hills in Newfoundland. Their growth exhibits the distinct character of leaning away from the ocean’s prevailing winds to thrive where others perish.

Sleeps 6 . Pristine . Fab kitchen for cooks . Lovely vista over Trinity Harbour and perfect beds( Ive had back op and perfect comfort ) . Love location away from bustle of tiny hamlet Trinity ! Make sure your book sea adventures with Princes and Donna Butts new theatre shows . Twine loft pre dinner was perfect !

My husband, toddler and I enjoyed our 6-night stay at Tuckamore immensely! The house is beautifully designed to maximize the view of the location, overlooking the town and bay. But, in addition to the house itself being lovely, it was extremely clean, outfitted with everything we needed to prepare full meals, furnished comfortably and communication with Peter was exceptional. Tuckamore is literally a short walk from the Skerwink Trail, which we hiked twice, and it’s only a short drive to other great hikes in the area. We enjoyed walking around peaceful Trinity East in the evenings, and we also enjoyed frequent visits to the Two Whales Coffee Shop just down the road. We would welcome the opportunity to stay here again; we felt extremely lucky to spend a few days feeling immersed in the beautiful town of Trinity East at Tuckamore. I highly recommend a stay here!

Great view, well appointed home and good location. You can walk to Skerwink Trail, a must see. About 40 minutes from Bonavista but a short drive to Trinity. Enjoyed visiting Trinity. Really good restaurants close by, make sure you make reservations before you arrive.

We loved being back at Tuckamore -but this stay was much too short. The home is beautiful, comfortable, immaculate, & a great place to enjoy being in the Trinity area. Great collection of books & interesting artwork. The view is picture perfect no matter the weather or time of day. We hiked the Skerwink trail again, saw lots of puffins, enjoyed a terrific dinner at Twine Loft, popped in (often) for coffee & goodies at Two Whales: all in all a lovely stay at Tuckamore. Thank you so very much for sharing.

This is a beautiful house fully equipped for every need. The house is situated on a hill with a magnificent view of the bay looking out to Trinity and the lighthouse. The deck is wonderful. This is the best rental house I have ever stayed in. Absolutely would go back. This is great location from which to explore the whole Bonavista Peninsula and is an easy drive to and from from St John's. We went to Rising Tide Theatre in Trinity, saw whales, puffins and....yes, icebergs of course.

If you want a home that is architecturally beautiful with a great view of the area, then this is the place! Comfortable, well-equipped, clean and spacious, we enjoyed 5 nights and were sorry to leave! Best stay of a 6-week road trip around Newfoundland.

We loved, loved, loved Tuckamore. It is very beautiful and spacious, the kitchen has absolutely everything you need to prepare wonderful meals. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The views outside the main floor and the upstairs bedrooms are spectacular. The fireplace was lovely. The most wonderful trail is mere steps away.

Tucked up on the hill overlooking Trinity East, it has a feeling of privacy, however the high ceilings & huge windows provide an abundance of natural light & a spectacular view of Trinity Harbour. The huge Douglas Fir ceiling beams, the propane fireplace, and the warm wooden floors provide a cosy feeling, even when there's a winter storm blowing outside. The gourmet kitchen is stocked with all necessary amenities. Tuckamore is a wonderful retreat with three luxurious bedrooms and two spa-like bathrooms. Tuckamore house is located steps away from the entrance to the renowned Skerwink Trail...but on a stormy winter day, it's also an ideal place to enjoy your coffee inside while you watch the blowing snow and stormy seas! The owners were quick to respond to any questions that we had & were extremely kind in offering to extend our stay (complimentary) due to the stormy winter weather on our check-out day. Their offer was greatly appreciated. Tuckamore is an ideal getaway and one of the most beautiful houses in the Trinity Bight area.

We stayed in Peter’s house in 2018 and loved it so much we decided to return - and it did not disappoint! It’s such a magical place!! The house is beautiful and spotless, with the best views and every convenience you could need. The location is amazing, with so many great day trips. My husband, adult son, and I stayed in the beautiful Tuckamore home in Trinity East for 3 weeks. It is even more incredible in person than the posted pictures. We arrived to a spotless home with all the requested accommodations made for us…as scent-free as possible as well as one bedroom to be without feather pillows/duvet. The hosts, Peter & Carol, were very easy to communicate with right from the start.
The view from Tuckamore is amazing! You couldn’t ask for anything better! So close to hiking trails, including the famous Skerwink Trail. Lovely coffee shop Two Whales not far away. The house is equipped with everything you need and more! Very very comfortable beds for a great night’s sleep. Even though there is no A/C, with the windows open a wonderful clean air breeze flows throughout the house day & night!
We enjoyed our stay very much and didn’t want to leave! We have made many wonderful memories at Tuckamore and would absolutely love to return one day. Thank you so much for opening up your beautiful home for others to enjoy!

No wonder we have stayed in this amazing VRBO three times so far. The place is absolutely spotless, the view of Trinity is the best, the beds are a dream, the house feels brand new, is GORGEOUS AND the kitchen is wonderful.
I would say that this is by far the nicest VRBO house in the world. It’s worth a special trip.

This property is fantastic. Beautiful and fully equipped for all possible needs, this super comfortable home is a great location to explore all that the area has to offer. The only thing we needed more of was time. There is so much that more we would liked to have done. 4 nights was not enough. We will definitely be back.

This property was amazing. This was our first trip to Newfoundland so we didn’t spend a lot of time here but I would gladly just relax here for a week. The Skerwink trail was amazing. Beds were very comfortable. We definitely recommend this property.

We absolutely adored Tuckamore. Stunning property with outstanding views in the best location on the Bonavista Peninsula. Stylish and comfortable, with a cosy gas fire for the chilly nights. Luxuriously equipped throughout, with gorgeous Newfoundland art created by the owner Peter. The views are breathtaking over the harbour.
Close to the Skerwink and Fox Island trails, and the fabulous Two Whales Coffee Shop. We would definitely stay at Tuckamore again, a truly special place.
