Looking forward to staying at Phillips next time!
Great personal attention from the owner, interesting historical building in a great location. The cottages were really nice with all the amenities, and the fire pit created a natural gathering place for the evening.
The only negative thing I can think of is that the hair dryer didn't work.

Great staff and good value.
Guy at the front counter was awesome. Very helpful and informative with a great attitude. In the middle of the night there was loud drama as would to be expected in this particular town in the middle of the night.
Loud lady freaking out. She wasn't a patron but she was screaming at one.

Really enjoyed our short stay. Would stay here again.
The room was decorated with a French theme, Paris bedspreads, Monet prints. Very welcoming hosts. Whimsical dragons about the property. A quiet street. About 14 miles to the Tail of the Dragon on 219. They are motorcycle friendly. Would stay here again.
The shower head was so low on the wall the I had to crouch to wash my hair, I'm 5'6". My 6'2" husband didn't even try.

I enjoyed staying at this lovely boutique motel, and would happily stay again if in the area.
1. Location: The location was great - I was traveling for work and the property was very close to not only the event I needed to attend, but also a few blocks downhill from the local coffee shop, which made for nice exercise on a brisk fall morning. 2. Staff: The staff when I checked in were incredibly kind and informative, sharing helpful information about parking, nearby restaurants, and road closures. Check in was the easiest I have ever had at a hotel — they had my reservation info and key ready before I even arrived (and I arrived early without informing them, so bonus for having the room ready) 3. Parking: It was so easy, parking right outside where my entrance was. 4. Room: The room was well-equipped with almost everything you would expect of a property of that class, including a comfortable mattress (my room had two beds, but I only used one), TV with plenty of channel options, in-room heating and AC, and a full bathroom with plenty of towels and toiletries. While I brought my own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, I appreciated that they had theirs provided on a wall-mounted dispenser, which reduces waste and cost. I also appreciated that the room had a table with chairs, and a love seat, which both provided comfortable places to work. The wifi was okay. Not super fast but to be honest, in a town like Robbinsville that might be all they have. Worked for uploading/downloading video files so I’m putting it in the pluses. THE FRIDGE AND MICROWAVE were *such* a nice touch and something that people take for granted. As someone who travels for work, I HATE eating fast food all the time, so having a chance to bring some items with me and have the comfort of home cooked leftovers while on the road was so nice. VERY CLEAN ROOM. Sort of a side note, but I was in one of the “rooms” but I hope to return one day and stay in one of the cottages.
1. Room: While I listed a lot of pluses for the room, there were a couple minuses as well, that if rectified would dramatically increase the travel experience for people visiting the location. A. My main gripe with the room was the lack of blackout curtains or blinds. With my room being ground level and with a window facing an elementary school, the flashing lights of school buses would have been annoying if I was not already awake. The regular (non blackout) curtains did provide privacy so that wasn’t a concern, but as a light-sensitive sleeper, blackout curtains are usually an important part of my hotel experience. It wasn’t the biggest problem in a small town like Robbinsville, but if there was more traffic/light pollution, it would have been a bigger issue for me. B. I understand that people were probably shorter which this place was built, and I at 6’0 am a couple inches higher than the average US adult man, but the shower head was about neck-level, so I had to do a bit of a squat to wash my hair. Good workout though so not a big problem, and obviously not something I expect them to fix. Just a note. C. The coffee was lacking tbh. I’m by no means a “coffee snob” because I understand that they can’t be helped, but there is a mark that wasn’t quite met with the coffee here. The coffee was a regular drip machine, and filters/cups were provided (just a thought, not affecting my review, but I wonder if ceramic mugs instead of paper would add to the homey feel?) so in theory they were starting off well. What made me not even attempt to make coffee was the fact that the coffee provided was open, and in a ziplock bag. I’m all against waste so I appreciated that they were trying to not be wasteful, but coffee has a shelf life after opening. For food safety/quality/ease I would recommend getting a cheap, single serving off brand keurig-style machine, and some plain tim hortons or dunkin pods, and just leaving them in the room.

Tucked away Old style cottages
It had a generous amount of parking right in front of your cabin/apartment.
The facility is just old, and dated and we found ant traps in the rooms and spider webs in the closets. Granted we only slept there as we were too busy enjoying the roads around the area, but felt it needs some sprucing up.

My favorite place to stay.
Love the "at home" feel
Wifi was terrible in the cottage.
