The location was really good, very close to the beach, buses, restaurants and International Marketplace.

Location location location. Perfect spot and price really good
Bed was like a banana. Must have had obese people sleeping in it as there was a visible cupping of the mattress.

Great proximity to the strip.
I was robbed of my glasses, passport, wallet with cash and two credit cards and drivers licence id along with my new iPhone 17 pro max. That happened in my room the robber was a Good Samaritan who gave me a lift back to the Hotel and said he would also help me get into my room as I had said I could not see properly as it was dark and I need my glasses. At least I was not harmed.

The biggest selling points of the Royal Grove Hotel are definitely the price and location. It's very centrally located, just a 2-minute walk from Waikiki Beach, and conveniently accessible from the airport via the W-Line bus. This is a great way to avoid an expensive Uber or taxi. The staff were kind and welcoming, the room appeared clean, the bed was alright, and the air conditioning worked really well.
The rooms are very dated and could definitely use some updating. While the room was perfectly adequate for a quick overnight stay, it wouldn't be somewhere we'd choose as our main accommodation for a longer Hawaii vacation.
