The home is nested around the corner from the sand bar, a popular spot to toss anchor and swim in the clear shallows. Or take a quiet boat ride up the winding Songo River to the lock systems, connecting you to Brandy Pond and Long Lake . Enjoy a short ride over to Frye Island and dock for lunch and ice cream at Frye's Leap General Store & Cafe. Whether you boat, swim, paddle or float, summer on Big Sebago offers endless possibilities. Our home is centrally located for trips east to Portland's historic Old Port and its shops and eateries, west to North Conway and Mt. Washington and the antique shops in between. We are steps from Sebago Lake State Park and its extensive trail systems for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing (some are groomed regularly in winter). Our home is located 25 minutes to Shawnee Peak. Ski and stay for the perfect family winter getaway. Or stay at home and gather around the campfire, and enjoy hot cocoa and ice skating right out your door. The offseason, including spring and fall, offers the natural wonders of lake life coming back into a mosaic of lush summer colors, or waning into the gorgeous hues of fall. Beautiful house on a beautiful spot on the lake. The little waterway the house is on is incredibly peaceful and a great spot to kayak or canoe. The house itself is great. We especially loved the massive windows overlooking the water from the main living area and from the master bedroom. The firepit by the water is also a perfect spot to relax. Our small children loved everything about it.
Communication with Cherie was excellent and she was extremely accommodating.
We would definitely love to stay again!

Nice location. Very quiet area. Only a few minutes away to beaches with huge sandbar. Note that the beach area is only accessible by boat, not car. Town about 10 minutes away with things to do and restaurants.
Only negative item was the beds were not made, which Cherie (owner) was very apologitic. Also, previous renter left food in microwave, which was moldy and we didn't use it.

Cherie’s property is super cute and felt very clean! She was extremely responsive when we had any questions. The outdoor deck and grill are awesome, and access to kayaks! We rented a pontoon and felt that was a must for us in this river location as it didn’t feel like a spot we wanted to jump in the water. However, the dock worked great and we enjoyed the fire pit! We had a great week!

The communication leading up to our stay with Cherie was great. Location of the house was perfect right on the river leading into Big Sebago. My family loved the house and especially the big beautiful windows looking out to the water. Loved this vacation and hope to return!

Cherie’s place was perfect for our Sebago vacation! The house had everything we needed, it was clean and cozy. The private dock was great for our boat rental for the weekend and the neighbors were very friendly. Cherie was very responsive and was very helpful.

Excellent location close to the sandbar. The property and the views are amazing! Cherie is a great host, very responsive, and accommodating. It was our home away from home for two weeks with all the amenities you can think of. Looking forward to coming back, as our family had a amazing time!

A charming and well decorated house in a fabulous location. Plenty of games and great fire pit area. Place to dock a pontoon or a small outboard. We had a wonderful stay- thank you Cherie!

Clean and everything works!
Very clean home! Great set up for adults and some bunks for the kids or grandma! Cherie was very accommodating! I lost my computer charger, Cherie found it and fed-exed it to me immediately! Kitchen has everything you need to enjoy easy meals without hassle! Just a few steps out the door to the dock and your a couple minutes from the sandbar!

Great Location
House was very nice, updated, comfortable and had central AC. Owner/property manager was very accommodating and responded quickly with any questions or concerns. Very quiet cove location. Just outside cove was a great sand bar that was a meeting place for many. Getting in and out of the canal/cove was a little difficult as it was narrow and shallow. Overall a great location, comforting house with lots of space for everyone.

Waterfront getaway
We arrived to a perfectly clean house and exactly as expected, tucked away on the water in a quaint waterfront community. Access to the water was seamless with the use of the available dock and a few minutes paddle from the sandbar (great sand!) around the corner on Sebago Lake. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting and situation for our family. Hoping to return again!

Luckily, the boat that was docked in front of the house stayed covered and was not and issue. If the renters of the dock wanted to use their boat, they would have had to walk right in front of our deck and living quarters. It would have been an intrusion of privacy. As it was, there were 2 other docks on the property which were rented out as well. They were not as close to us but the owners of the boat did have to walk directly in front of us. At least, they were friendly and it was not an issue.

Amazing Week
Location, Location, Location
The house is situated at the entrance of the Songo river and next to the Sebago Lake State Park Sand Bar. Thompson Point is surrounded on three sides by the state park. My kids and I spent the week exploring the close by trails into the state park, kayaking up the Songo river and fishing on the lake.
A view of the river and lake can be enjoyed from the kitchen, dining room, living room and master bedroom. The house is clean and modern with an efficient layout. The gourmet kitchen and house are stocked with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay.
The owner is very attentive. I felt she honestly cared that my kids and I enjoyed our stay.
My kids are requesting that I book the same house next year, I cant wait to go back.

What an amazing property! I don't even know where to start. Having our boat steps from the house was ideal for us, and the location on the lake was just perfect! The water on the main part of the lake can get really rough, but on those rough days you're just around the corner from the Songo River entrance and a beautiful, serene trip up thru the locks to Brandy Pond & Long Lake. Although you can't swim off the dock right at the house, having the sandbar right around the corner was perfect! We swam there everyday, and the water stays shallow forever so even if there are a lot of boats, you can still find your own spot to hang out! The kids can even kayak or paddleboard there (just be careful crossing the channel). Only thing to be aware of is the sandbar is a state park and we found out our first day they charge to anchor on the beach, but they were very nice and also let us know that if we anchored off the beach just a few feet we wouldn't be on state property any longer ;) As for the house...it was perfect! We had 7 people and the size was just perfect. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well appointed, plenty of seating (though we all fought over the chaise by the window as it was the best spot in the house overlooking the water). The central air was the icing on the cake, the house stayed so cool during the hottest week of the summer (the day we checked out was 98!) We also loved the outdoor area with plenty of chairs, hammocks and a fire pit. The outdoor, homemade tic-tac-toe game was a family favorite too and the string lights added such a special touch to the outdoor area. The house was so perfect I wish Cherie was entertaining offers! Cherie was incredible to work with, her responses were always very quick and so accommodating. We didn't have a single issue with the property, other than locking ourselves out one day...she really does go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful vacation. We really didn't want to leave!!! We are hoping to make it back again next year, we don't want to stay anywhere else!!! :)

Family Nest For Summer Fun
This was a great property to have as a home base for family summer fun. We had no trouble at all with access, supplies, and great communications as needed with our host. The place is wonderfully laid out and super cozy with everything you need to rest between daily adventures in the area. We used the kayaks to go over to the nearby sandbar for swimming, we made s'mores around the campfire, we slept soundly in the comfortable bedrooms. We played some of the games that were in the cupboard and, when downtime was needed, we enjoyed the Netflix and WiFi. Thanks for everything! This was a lovely place to call home for a week.

A Perfect Place
We can’t thank Cherie enough for providing such a wonderful home to stay at. Location was great; not far from towns, activities and restaurants and the famed State sand bar. Use of the kayaks was great. We rented a boat and docking was easy.
The home is extremely inviting from its tasteful decor, cozy furniture and furnishings , gorgeous views and well stocked gourmet kitchen to comfortable outdoor seating, fire pit and lighting.
The washer/dryer was a plus as well as the games, cable and Netflix to keep everyone entertained
The Saturday we arrived was extremely hot and humid; but inside the house it was very comfortable with the central ac. Cherie was wonderful. Very easy to communicate with. It is obvious that she takes great pride in this home. It is extremely well cared for and clean. We hated having to leave!!

Wonderful house to spend a week in!
Beautiful house, great location. We really appreciated being able to use the kayaks provided to head over to the sandbar to swim. The house is updated, and very clean. Owner communicates well. If we ever do Sebago again, we’ll definitely book this house!

Great vacation!
We really enjoyed staying at this property. The house is beautiful and well maintained. The location is outstanding. It is right on the water with a gorgeous view. It was easy access for our boat and has a convenient dock. My children enjoyed the hammocks and the fire pit. We also had fun with the kayaks. Cherie was quickly responsive to all communication and incredibly accommodating. Thanks! We had a great week!

The house was clean and well kept so we were able to get settled in and relax right away.
There was abundant wildlife at and around the property. Deer, turkey geese and ducks. Lots of fish caught and an American eel!
Kayaks were provided and a boat dock is available for use.
We had a fantastic stay and amazing weather!

Relaxing, Serene, Lovely Home
The fall colors were amazing. The home Is so clean and decorated in such a way that you feel right at home. We so enjoyed our girls weekend of meditation by the fire pit. The kitchen had all the essential items. The beds are comfortable. Its such a lovely place. Thank you Cherie for sharing your home.
