About this house rental
Nestled in Clunes, this lovely house for $80 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Step back in time at Paddymelon Cottage, one of the few 1850s still intact. Originally built in 1858 and refurbished by the current owners in 1996/97. The cottage has two bedrooms,one bathroom, an eat-in kitchen, a cosy sitting room with fireplace. Large verandah curls around the front of the cottage enabling outdoor sitting while overlooking the heritage listed parterre garden. Wheel chair access and walk in shower. One bedroom has a queen sized bed, the other a double futon bed and a single bed. All linen and towels are provided. The kitchen contains crockery, cutlery, a double sink, family size fridge/freezer, microwave and a turbo oven is available for your use. The kitchen table comfortably seats six people. Breakfast provisions are provided. WIFI available. There is a library of books and DVDs available for you to use. Ample off-street parking for two cars or one car and a caravan. Privacy .. Clunes is situated a convenient 30 mins drive from Ballarat and 35 mns from Daylesford. Castlemaine and Maryborough are both easy 40 mins scenic drives from Clunes. Clunes has several coffee shops and bookshops to explore.

This was a lovely cottage with all conveniences. The fire was lovely and fresh linen and towels welcome. Very convenient to Ballarat with an easy drive to all attractions nearby. Beds were comfy and it was nice and clean.

We much enjoyed the historical feel of the home which completed the Clunes experience, plus large garden - perfect for our short stay.

As a family, we had such a wonderful time staying here! Very child friendly. Short walk to both a skatepark and a playground. Fish and chip shop a stones throw away. Plenty of beds, DVDs, books, and very cute furniture. Loved it!

We had a lovely stay at Paddymelon Cottage. Close to town and other surroundings. Cottage had everything we needed we sat on the veranda and enjoyed the peace and quiet 😀

Getaway
Was warm and cozy, walking distance to town center. Owner was warm and friendly. Bed was amazing, lots of hot water and quiet area.

Lovely little cottage within walking distance of the town centre. Great for weekends or a short stay. It might feel a bit cramped for parties of more than three, however, my daughter and I were very comfortable. Would be nice in warm weather as it has a lovely deep verandah where you could sit and have a glass of wine, or enjoy meals. Decor is very 90s... but we weren't there for interior design inspiration!

We had a lovely 4 days/nights in this rural little town and enjoyed learning about it's history. The cottage was lovely and old - clean and tidy - and provided everything we needed for our stay. Relaxing country getaway
We had a lovely 4 days/nights in this rural little town and enjoyed learning about it's history. The cottage was lovely and old - clean and tidy - and provided everything we needed for our stay. PEACEFUL GETAWAY
Upon arriving one sees a quaint heritage cottage nestled in a peaceful garden with a wrap-around verandah. It is ample big enough for a couple wanting to experience a quiet getaway. Ballarat is only 25 minutes away, if a change of scenery is desired.

Clunes with dogs
Marlene was a lovely host, friendly and accommodating. However, I couldn't find anywhere in the details of the listing an indication that the front yard was not secured for dogs - there were gaps in the fence - and once we got in the back garden, my young dog had an almighty fight with the resident cat.
This said, once the dust settled, all went smoothly!
