About this condo rental
Nestled in Samara, this charming condo for $213 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Beautiful 2 bed / 2 bath ocean view just renovated condo with everything new in a small and charming relaxed-feel beach town. 24 hr gated security condo with 17 units, secured parking with infinity pool and plenty of lounge chairs. My unit is on the 2nd floor and affords serene and spectacular views. Short trail walk to the beach, ocean, restaurants & town. Or $2 taxi from Condo to town. The Condo has fishing poles, 2 boogie boards, footballs, frisbees, beach chairs, beach shade canopy, cooler, beach bags. Fully equipped kitchen with granite counters, washer/dryer, 55" TV with DVD player. King size bed with new bathroom. 2nd room has 2 single beds with bathroom. Plenty of closet space. Lots of activities close by - to name a few - swimming, surfing, kayaking, horseback riding, zip lining, quad tours or just rent and cruise, fishing tours, dolphin tours, bike rentals, hiking, etc. Plenty of nice and casual beach restaurants. Fantastic local doctor (Dr. Freddy) in case you need one, banks, markets, post office, police station, souvenir shops. More about.....Samara, the town, is located in Guanacaste Province on the northern Pacific coast. It is about 1.5 hrs from Liberia International Airport (LIR). The drive from the airport is along all paved roads, making it is an easy destination to reach. One of the main draws of Samara is its centrally located downtown. The downtown abuts the beach and is full of restaurants, trendy boutique shops, tour operators, markets and other amenities. Another draw is its surrounding forest and wildlife. Unlike areas to the north, thick tropical dry forest borders Samara. You can find animals like monkeys, iguanas, and many kinds of birds. Samara’s biggest attraction is its beautiful beach. Playa Samara attracts all types of travelers with its rows of palm trees and light tan sand. You will find 20-somethings grabbing a beer at one of the beachside bars, couples strolling at sunset, and children at play in the calmer ocean waters. You can do so much in Samara - swim, surf, kayak, zip line, snorkel, short or long trips, hike, rent quads, horse back, etc. or simply nothing at all.

Really liked this condo. Great view of the ocean! The place was clean, easy to check in, had a lot of small amenities that made the trip better: boogie boards, flashlights, well stocked pots/pans/utensils, beach chairs, etc. Owners has thought of many things to make guests comfortable.

This condo sits on a hill above Samara. The view is great. The condo is spacious. It is nice that it is gated and secure. Just note it is a long walk to the beach down the driveway, across a road and through town. We drove to and from the beach each time as we did not want to take the time and energy to walk. We appreciated and enjoyed the extras like beach chairs, umbrella, beach mats, boogie boards and cooler. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was nice.
Now for the Cons: The owner John is hard to deal with if you have any problems. First of all, we were not sent a map/instructions on how to get there and had to stop in town to ask for directions to the condo. Secondly, the bathrooms were not cleaned before we arrived. There was blood, poop, urine and hair on one of the toilets. The shower floors were not cleaned either. Overall, the place could use a good deep cleaning. The owner quickly responded when we reached out to him but had a hard time accepting that everything was not perfect and made excuses. He was aggressive and accusatory at times. He did offer to refund us our next nights' stays if we wanted to find another place but that just wasn't feasible for us. We told him we would clean the bathrooms that night after finding dinner and then expected the cleaning fee to be refunded. He responded in an an arrogant and unprofessional way and told us that he felt 1/2 the cleaning fee was more than enough to be refunded. I don't agree. It took a lot of our time to deal with this after a long day of travel. The previous people paid a cleaning fee and we did too, therefore the condo should have been clean upon our arrival. It was not a pleasant experience to deal with John. I have stayed in a lot of rentals and have never had an owner communicate with me in such a negative way. Overall, this was a nice place to stay away from the busy part of town but still pretty close. Just beware that if you have a problem, it will not be a good experience.

The view is what initially sold us to rent the property, and it was spectacular. Some things we wish we had realized--the condo is at the top of a 100 foot hill which involves walking up 60 plus steps AND then a hilly gravel driveway....and in the heat, walking up and down once was enough for us.
We also should have realized that having such a view toward the west would mean direct sun into the unit for many hours...and the a/c was set by the owner to not go below an assigned temperature.
We had some mechanical problems--the washing machine was broken and the sink, toilet and shower in the second bedroom did not drain. The washer was never usable during our stay but the drain problems were resolved before we left. As the owner told us "It's just something we live with and repair as we go. It just comes with the territory"

I was travelling with my husband and two adult daughters. The view from the condo was spectacular. Food for the soul. The bedrooms were large and beds very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked.The beach was close and beginner surfing was enjoyable for the girls. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely recommend to friends

Nice condo very clean with good a/c. Nice pool and area for breakfast in the morning. Close to the beach. Have to be in shape to climb the hill from the beach to the condo if you walk😉. Parking well supervised. Good communication with John the owner

This property is an excellent value. The owner, John, was an absolute pleasure to communicate with. He made the check-in process as seamless as possible and was available anytime we had questions. The condo itself has a beautiful view of the ocean and is easy walking distance form the beach and the town of Samara.
The only thing people should take note of is that the building is situated on a hillside, so expect a small hike to get there if you are coming from the beach. We are a fit/athletic family, so to me, it was a bonus (i.e. free to eat more gelato), but overweight people and/or people with mobility issues may want to take this into consideration.
Highly recommend. We will be back.

We stayed at Condo Veneto for three nights. The condo was extremely clean and had everything we needed. The condo is located within walking distance to the beach and downtown Samara but climbing the hill back to the condo does require some stamina. We also really enjoyed the pool.

Seriously saved our vacation in Costa Rica
After realizing that Santa Teresa wasn't for us we were extremely fortunate to find this condo available. I can't say enough about how wonderful this property, and the general Samara area, is. The owner, John was very responsive and forthcoming about the amenities and flaws of his property. The staff at the condo property were always attentive and pleasant. The little extras like boogie boards, chairs, games and even a cooler made us feel like locals. To top it all off is the view from the floor to ceiling windows each evening. This place is pura vida.

Excellent Stay in Samara and Host!
Our family (5 & 3 yr olds) had a great time in the Samara area of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Incredible condo with spectacular views. The condo was well stocked with everything we needed during our stay. John was easy and quick to communicate to with before and during our stay.
We would definitely recommend this condo for a vaca. It is a little bit of a walk up/down the hill to the beach, but nothing too difficult for us.
The beach in Samara was wonderful to walk during the daylight hours. So was the town of Samara.
The adjacent beaches in the area were also worth visiting and exploring. We only wish we had more time to spend in the area and vacation/holiday.

My father is getting older and wanted an adventure before the world gets "Completely Crazy", and this was perfect! We did have a later flight and had to find the place in the dark. That was an experience in itself! There are no street names!!
Then we did go during the "off" season and the pool was unavailable for a couple days. Other than those couple little bumps, this place was everything we hoped for! We will go again for sure :-)

Modern and well equipped apartment
The modern apartment is equipped with everything one could ask for and more, beautifully decorated and with surprisingly comfortable beds (especially compared to properties owned by locals). Only small issue is that it’s very difficult to completely close the windows in the living room and master bathroom, which I assume will cause higher electricity bills for the owner. Nice pool and sun deck, close three minute walk to the Samara beach (five minutes with kids). However, we preferred the more beautiful Carrillo beach a seven minute drive away. Would definitely recommend this well maintained property even though it is on the pricey side for a local expat family as us.

And also a beautiful pool.Samara is such a cool little town, with such a nice laid- back vibe and great people, both ex-pats and Ticas and Ticos. Weather was really nice (12/1-12/6/2020) Gusto Beach and La Dolce Vita were our favorite haunts, but many other bars and restaurants line the beach and streets. This Condo was everything we looked for and we were so pleased we found this Gem. And John was so responsive and easy to deal with, despite this being a very last minute trip. You will not regret booking a Condo here for your Vacation.

Great views and nice condo
We enjoyed our stay in Sumara. The condo was convenient and had wonderful views. The sunrises and sunsets were fantastic. The pool was large and had shade which was great on hot afternoons. You can walk to the beach ( but if a climb but nit bad unless you are carrying groceries! ) the beach us great fir long walks. We had a car and the Corrillo beach which is quite close us probably the nicest beach we had ever been in and we travel slot. Mikes if sand and shady palm trees with a nice surf and blue skies- who could ask for more . You can walk to the town along the beach . The town is lay back but has several nice restaurants, grocery store and a few shops. You might see a horse wandering through town but that adds to the charm.
The condo was well equipped and the bed was comfortable which is a must for us. The owner was quick to respond to my inquiries .

My wife and I enjoyed easy access to the marvelous Samara beach. Out time there was memorable, with the condo and small town of Samara providing us with many options for our enjoyment. The condo owner was friendly and very responsive. We highly recommend a stay.
