About this cabin rental
Rivermac is a luxury river cabin overlooking gentle rapids on the Toccoa River, across from the Chattahoochee National Forest.
This is a modern version of a classic river house with the vibe of an urban loft. Stunning views of the river are visible from nearly every room. Furnishings are comfortably modern with a contemporary blend of clean lines and natural materials. Large expanses of glass bring the outdoors in with views of the rushing river below and majestic evergreens reaching blue sky in the forest beyond.
The main level open floor plan features walls of glass soaring to a peak of over 30 feet. The jetted hot tub, with a custom built, multi-level surround, is located on a private covered deck open to the river and forest views. Architectural details such as sliding barn doors, subway tile, pipe railings, etc…all contribute to the ambiance.

The house and property were absolutely wonderful. The riverfront setting made the whole stay feel peaceful and special, with beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The home was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed to enjoy our time there.It was the perfect place to unwind, spend time together, and simply enjoy being by the water. We would absolutely stay here again.

A Faded Gem on the RiverTHE GOOD- Great bones, with a solid layout and real potential.- Beautiful river views.- Plenty of wildlife right on the property.- Excellent proximity to outdoor activities.- Comfortable beds and quality bedding.THE NOT SO GOOD- The listing doesn't match reality. The photos and description on VRBO are old and show the property in far better shape than what you actually arrive to.- Broken and uncomfortable furnishings. The basement couch is broken, and the upstairs family room has two chairs that look like they belong on a patio, hard and unforgiving. No comfortable spot to watch a movie on either floor.- Poorly equipped kitchen. The cookware is a hodgepodge of old, peeling Teflon that would have gone straight into the garbage at my own home. The cabinets are dated too, with peeling finishes, loose handles, and water damage. The stovetop's heat indicators are worn off, so you can't tell what setting you're cooking at. If you plan to cook most of your meals here, be warned: for us it was a real source of frustration.- Ants in the kitchen. We were constantly killing them on the counter.Bottom line: location and setting have a lot going for them, held back by tired furnishings and a kitchen that needs attention. Just know going in that the listing photos bear little resemblance to the property you'll actually walk into. You can tell this was a luxury home 10 to 15 years ago, and with some reinvestment and a refresh, it could be again.
