Pillows and duvets very old and no pillow protectors so dirty. Mattresses on twin bed very lumpy. Mild round shower seals not good. Wood burner had not been cleaned out from previous visitors. We didn’t use it so not prepared to clean it.

Location to Betsy, dog friendly, real fire, clean and comfortable.
Parking was tricky. There was a power cut Friday night but we found a torch. Candles might have been helpful.

Location good, an authentic cottage
The property was not prepared for our arrival. There was dirty linen on floor in bedrooms, beds were not made, dirty water in sink. 1 bin not emptied. To top this off on our arrival we were unable to make contact with either Sykes Cottages or Booking.com to sort this situation for at least 2 hours. We were then told to make beds ourselves from bags of linen under the beds.
