Had a wonderful week! Our host, Weslea, was responsive and helpful. The location at the end of the cove made for some great views from the screened-in back porch. The setting is rural and peaceful. It was delightfully quiet. The cottage itself is basic, small, and comfortable for 2 people. They use the space well and have a surprising amount of kitchen utensils, etc. To set your expectations: this is not the luxury homes you see charging a whole lot more per night. It's a bit rustic in a beautiful setting. The large bedroom is plenty roomy. However, there are 2 things to be aware of -- the sun comes up early in Maine. And there are no curtains on the windows. I confess, that was disconcerting. However, you are so isolated that you don't need them. That took some getting used to! We were there in early June, when sunrise was at 4:52 am! Bring a sleep mask if you don't want to be up that early. The primary bathroom is small & has no counter space. The half-bath has lots of counter space. It is a shower-only bathroom. The small shower stall has a handheld shower head. Plenty of fluffy towels. The living space has a table for 2 that can be extended. There is no TV, per se. They do have a small computer monitor for watching DVDs. Plan on streaming if you want to watch TV. Good wi-fi in the house. We had 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, and an Apple Watch and had no bandwidth issues. The cottage is in a remote location. There is a small but well-stocked grocery store about 4 miles away.

What a joy to stay in Spruce Shores cottage while we explored Acadia National Park. The cottage is secluded, peaceful and full of many small delights. The view was amazing, as were the stars at night. We had two chilly, rainy days and we were happy to stay in and enjoy a fire in the wood stove. The kitchen is small but well-equipped. We made most of our meals there. Wesley was helpful and great with communication. We highly recommend staying here.
