The location is pretty perfect, right on the edge of the historic city center. We were able to easily walk everywhere. Parking was easy and inexpensive in the city parking garage nearby. The rooms were elegant and clean with tall ceilings, old wood floors, and balconies over the street. The bed was comfortable, had cotton sheets, and lots of pillows, (no perfumes in the washing-yay). A bottle of local wine was there for us and breakfast served every morning in a picnic basket was a treat. Guimarães is an art lover's dream. There is a city wide biennial textile art show on now through November 2026. It's a treasure hunt! Don't miss it.
It's really not a bad thing. Just be prepared for 38 steps up.

Location was excellent. The architecture and decor of the property where beautiful. Also loved the keyless entry. The breakfast basket in the morning was so sweet and delicious.
Because the building is a century old, you could hear guests going into their apartments.
