Incredible location amongst the hills and right at the start of the trek to Ellas rock. The second time I've stayed here. Good social vibe. Lovely manager. And an adventure walking along the train tracks to get to it.

This was the perfect place in the countryside outside of Ella! Although the dorms were slightly basic with a slight drain smell, this is not unusual for Sri Lanka, and the pool and views definitely made up for it! You’re a short walk from Ella town (about 20-30 mins) straight down the railway, but not in the busy town so you feel completely away from all the hustle and bustle. It’s extremely relaxing and honestly just the most beautiful place. They also offer free breakfast AND dinner which is a major win!

Social hostel, nice location in the nature. Good food
We had a private room which was not very clean and was full of ants . Everyday many ants would appear and we had to get rid of them. The staff did not help much with this. Also when it was raining there was stuff falling from the roof in our room through crack in the roof.
Lastly , our private room was connected directly to the dorm through open holes in the wall so it was really not very private. We could hear everything as if we were in the dorm ourselves.
All in all it seemed like some of the things would need more maintenance or work .
The hostel is 40 min walk from town on the railway or with Tuk Tuk for 1500-2000 one way

Very easy booking and check in process.
Budget friendly place. Also lovely travellers passing by.
The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout.
The hostel is located about 3km walk down the train track (very beautiful and flat) to Ella town. Easy access to Ella Rock trailhead. It’s about 20 minute Tuk-Tuk to Ella due to roads. Very beautiful none the less to sit and watch the trains by the pool.
Facilities really good - spacious rooms, clean showers and toilets and the added bonus - a lovely pool to cool down!
There’s also a very nice restaurant 5 minutes down the train track called River side cafe - also recommend.
