About this house rental
Situated in Caroga Lake, this lovely house for $143 per night is a great choice for your next break. Tucked in among the large boulders and mature trees, this secluded property is only a 5 minute walk to its deeded access on West Caroga Lake with dock and designated boat slip (up to 21') and abuts over 60,000 undeveloped acres of state land known as the Ferris Lake Wild Forest Preserve. The preserve offers endless miles of trails that wind through some of the most beautiful terrain imaginable. Completed in early 2013, StoneHaven was custom designed and built by it's owners to incorporate the luxury of modern and efficient technology into a rustic package. This concept allows visitors to experience the more premium comforts of a home while the décor and setting provide a true Adirondack “camp” experience. An open floor plan allows an opportunity to engage in conversation, entertain and keep an eye on children all from any vantage point on the first floor. Complement your meals in the dining area with a gaze out the large picture window which affords an uninterrupted view of nature at its finest. Be sure to appreciate the old world craftsmanship of the custom made kitchen cabinetry built in primitive design and utilizing traditional construction methods. Also take note that the walls and ceiling on the first floor as well as most of the trim throughout the house are comprised of knotty pine that was reclaimed and milled locally from the trees that were harvested from the property prior to construction. Don’t be too surprised to find your morning coffee or evening drink interrupted by a visit from one or more members of our local wildlife community which may include: fox, deer, turkey, chipmunk, possum, rabbit, fisher, mink, raccoon, black bear, bobcat, and many others. StoneHaven at Caroga Lake was the perfect place to get away for Christmas. The cabin was super comfortable with its radiant floor heating and added option of cozying up by the wood stove. Sleep quality was excellent on the mattress in the master bedroom and the quietness of the surrounding area was amazing. Felt very private, even with the house next door. Other than an occasional car headed to the house down the street, we didnt see anyone else during our stay. Kitchen was ready for cooking and serving. There was even a mini Christmas tree already setup for us in the living room. Looking forward to our next stay!

Stonehaven is a heavenly getaway. It’s so quiet and yet has everything you need during your stay in Caroga. Everyone in the area is super friendly. Trent made this stay super easy and I recommend this beautiful cabin to everyone needing some time in the woods.

Almost strategically placed for us. We came to stop over for a trek to the baseball hall of fame and visit some local towns and shops. This time of year the temperature can change in this region. I was hoping for snow, the wife was hoping for heat. We got the in-between.

It was a nice quiet location and great for relaxing. We visited Howe caverns (amazing!), via aquarium and Utica zoo while we were there. Perfect distance from the cabin. Also hiked to the Kane mountain fire tower.
Only thing that could have been better, the floors were dirty and had dog hair. But besides that, we loved the place! Child friendly too !

We stayed here during spring break to get away from our day to day life. We enjoyed our stay & especially liked the extra touches at the cabin such as the board games/card games stocked. The lake was beautiful as well.

This charming cabin in the woods was perfect for our group of 6 adults. The owner was responsive to my inquiries and everything was clean and as expected upon arrival. The floors had radiant heat so the cabin was toasty. Would definitely stay again!

I can't get enough of this place. We had everything we wanted. A combination of a camping experience with all the comforts of 2022. Peaceful, private, beautiful. My kids are already asking when we can go back. Hosts were super helpful and kind. House of filled with everything you might need (bring towels). Lake is a short walk (not easiest with a bunch of younger kids but doable and worth it). The firepit and outdoor seating area were so nice. The cabin has a great ambience and overall there aren't enough stars to rate this place, it's above and beyond. Thank you to our hosts for having us, we loved every minute!

Cousins Reunion
We stayed at Stonehaven for a cousins reunion. We have such fond memories of our family camp on Caroga Lake and Stonehaven was a great place to reconnect with our love of Caroga. Thank you for your hospitality…we look forward to many more returns to Caroga Lake.

Wonderful place to stay in the southern Adirondacks. This has become our go-to place for a winter getaway. Love the heated floors and wood stove!

Perfect place for a long weekend! The house has a great fire pit, well-stocked kitchen (even a crock pot AND brownie pan), and fabulous radiant heat floors. We had such a great time going to several area hikes. Thank you so much!

My daughter picked the property and we were very happy with her choice. We brought too many supplies thinking that we would need them, but it was all provided in the house. It was still early in the season so it was very quiet around town. It was restful and we wished that we had stayed a few more days. We may book again in the future.

We had a great stay here! The cabin was very clean & comfortable. It’s sits on a mostly private road & property. There was no one at the property next to us when we came. There is some trees & brush separating you from the 1 next to it. The cabin is beautifully decorated & plenty of room! Beds were comfortable. The 1 thing I wish there was is a clock in main bedroom. Other than that it was perfect! Outside is very nice with a nice fire pit & porch! We loved that the porch was on side of house with no cottage right next to it. 1 of the reasons we chose this property was because we could bring our dogs! It is very dog friendly & they even had bowls out for the dogs! We walked our dogs down to the water every am. It is a short walk but there are many stairs to go down to get to it. Wasn’t a problem except our dogs were so excited to swim they’d be pulling us down them! Lol But it was a great place for them to go! There is also great hiking nearby to go. We hiked at 9 corners lake trail which was perfect! Dogs went swimming there as well! This was a perfect time to go & enjoy the beautiful leaves! Overall great time & place to stay! Would highly recommend!

Cozy + Comfortable
We loved our stay at Caroga Lake! The property is clean, cozy and comfortable which made for a relaxing and easy break from the routine. We loved the indoor space as much as the outdoor. It was extra special with so much of the stunning fall foliage! Highly recommended!

Thanksgiving Getaway
Stonehaven was the perfect place for our getaway. The home was immaculately maintained, cozy and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything, all we needed to bring was food, towels, and our own personal items. The kitchen is very well equipped, we had everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner. We took one trip into Gloversville to have a look around but we were very content to sit by the fire, play board games, and walk the dogs. Just perfect.

Weekend Getaway
Stone Haven was the perfect place for our friends' weekend getaway. We found so much care was put into the lovely house. There were fresh linens laid out for us when we arrived and all the basics provided. Trent was incredibly attentive and responded within minutes if we had a question. We highly recommend Stone Haven as we hope to make this retreat into an annual tradition.

A little piece of old style cabin wrapped up in modern conveniences is the best description for this awesome cabin. Exactly as it was described. Upon arrival there were no surprises and Trent and Patty were only a text away if we needed anything. Beautiful in early October.
