I really want to give this beautiful condo a 5 star rating. The backdrop of the mountains is awe-inspiring, the location is nearly magical and located conveniently between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. We enjoyed watching the Sloths and had visits from both Howler Monkey families and White Faced Monkeys. There is a family of Parrots that nest in a tree beside the unit, and a couple of Toucans that come by daily. We saw giant Green Iguanas, and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Costa Rica. We will definitely be back, however we will not stay here again. The unfortunate reality is that this place requires much needed attention. We can confirm from the previous post that there is STILL a black tarp on the roof, and the damaged sliding door (facing the pool) still has a hole in it. There is vegetation growing from the roof and eaves, and visible water damage. The furniture is not comfortable, neither inside or out. We chose to drag units of the inside sectional outside to the back deck. There is unfinished blueboard patching damage to the eaves outside. The pool is nice, but again requires attention. The pool furniture is not the same furniture as in the pictures, and the cabanas are in DIRE need of attention. The cushions are moldy and the cabana curtains have been removed. The pool could do with a ladder as well. We did enjoy floating in this amazing location on multiple occasions, and purchased unbreakable cups in Quepos to use at the pool as there were none in our unit to use. There is no toaster or dishwasher in this unit. The dishwasher was not an issue as there are not enough dishes provided to fill one. Unfortunately, the sink does not produce water hot enough to wash them by hand either. I did really appreciate the good quality pans though! The BBQ in the common area is NOT the gorgeous one in the picture - it has been replaced by a low quality $199 two burner BBQ. The inside is wrapped in tinfoil. Johan was very helpful. One of the locks failed and he fixed it the next morning. The biggest irritant, however, is that his supply closed is located on the back deck of this unit. Every morning while enjoying our morning coffee in this breathtaking environment, Johan would come by to get supplies. We found this extremely intrusive and awkward, and he did as well. It is a shame that this beautiful location is being left to fall apart. As said, we will definitely be back to Costa Rica, but just not to this location unless drastically updated.

Unfortunately this property has been poorly maintained and is no longer the ‘luxury’ accommodations as promised. While the unit’s space is well designed, there is water damage on every interior ceiling and a large chunk of exterior soffit on the deck overhand has been torn away. The roof is shrouded in plastic and there is black mold evident in several areas (and on other units - there are 4 there and 3 of 4 are in similar states on the outside at least). Additionally, one of the sliding glass doors in the has damage in the glass that hasn’t been repaired. The unit itself is quite functional and well laid out and has the necessities but again isn’t quite luxury. It lacks full sets of some key items. While most are in sets of 4, glasses, wine glasses aren’t complete (1 wine glass - in glass) and no toaster. And they are all in glass form (not acrylic or other shatterproof material) where the Pool Rules indicate no glass is allowed so you can’t take advantage of that area for eating/dining. The common grounds again are well designed and not well maintained. The pool has tiles surrounding it and one entire side are fully broken, leaving jagged sharp uneven edges to walk on. A nightmare for kids and grownups alike. The ‘cabanas’ are comfortable and shaded nicely, but again could use some deeper cleaning and hemming of fabric around them as they are well stained and torn. Behind the BBQ area, which has a long table and chairs for relaxing and meals, which we saw used only by grounds staff for lounging, there is a massive pile of garbage that has been left to rot. The location is good - midway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio - so convenient. But walk to the bus on main road is on a blind curve - and wasn’t advised by our local contact. Speaking of Johan - he was helpful, informative, and quite responsive. A bright spot in the week. When we notified the host (not local contact) that we were leaving early and explained why we had to make that decision, we heard NO RESPONSE. At all, to this date (weeks after our return). We wish this lovely designed property had been maintained as well as it had been designed.

Johan, the property manager, was very responsive and great to work with. He met us at the Villa and explained how everything worked and answered questions right away whenever I messaged him. The Villa was perfect for our family of 4. Plenty of space. The property was easy to find which is a huge plus in Costa Rica with lack of street signs. Make sure you download Waze and Google maps before you go! Our living area faced out toward the forest which was awesome because we saw monkeys while sitting on the patio in the evening. The A/C in each room kept the bedrooms nice and cool while we slept and even the main area didn’t get too warm either. My kids loved the pool and would have enjoyed it more in the evenings had it not rained 2 of our afternoon/evenings there. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you don’t want to go into Quepos or busy Manuel Antonio area near the beach. We ate at El Wagon one night and highly recommend. Also recommend El Santaurio Canopy zip line tour. They will pick you up at the Villa and feed you. We enjoyed our short visit in Manuel Antonio and would definitely stay in this property again!

What a great find, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Johan was a pleasure to deal with, he quickly replied to emails and was so friendly. We loved the quiet mornings on the back patio, the unit itself was clean and comfortable. We didn't have a car but easily walked the short distance on Valle Pura Vida to the main road. The bus passes every 15 minutes (during the day) and is so convenient. A flashlight helped to make the walk comfortable in the evening, there are a few dogs along the way but they were friendly. We felt safe walking in the neighbourhood and taking the bus, both during the day and at night. We saw monkeys, Toucans, snakes, spiders, frogs, iguanas and other lizards. What a beautiful setting, a really great spot. If we are ever in Manuel Antonio again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
