Nestled in West Pennington, this attractive cabin for $417 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Pactola Escape is a great home for large families. This comfortable cabin located by Lake Pactola and centrally located to all attractions. This cabin has 4 bedrooms with a loft area that has a bed. Three bathrooms and a large living room area with a beautiful fireplace. Dining room leads out onto a deck with a great view. There is a pool table and ping pong table in the basement for all to enjoy. Washer and dryer on the main level. It is centrally located in the Black Hills on Edelweiss Mountain near beautiful Pactola Reservoir just off of Hwy 385. The central location puts you within 30 minutes of most of the major attractions in the Black Hills. The National forest is in your back yard along with 2 acres of area for you to explore. Wildlife is abundant. Turkey and deer frequent the area. There is 3 miles of gravel to the home. There is parking for 1 16 ft trailer. There is parking for up to 4 vehicles. We do provide parking at our office area lot for an additional cost. There is limited cell phone service. Verizon is the main cell service provider. There is high speed internet at this home.

Nine friends and family enjoyed our weekend at this spacious, 3-story cabin in the woods. Everything from booking to check-in to communication with Julie — went super smoothly. The only downside is a 3-mile long mountain gravel road to the cabin. Try to arrive before dark and preload the maps because you will likely have no phone service.

We spent a week there in late July. Family of ten, ranging from age 12 to 72. Home was spacious enough to accommodate our group. Relaxing scenery. Centrally located to Black Hills destinations (Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, etc.)

Loved the property. Communcation very clear. Simple check out. We had three days of hiking, wildlife drives and fishing. Saw 250 bison at dusk. Teens loved wildlife. Fresh trout dinner was great!

Other than a tricky driveway up the mountain, the cabin was absolutely perfect for our vacation needs. It was picturesque, clean and well stocked. The bedroom and living area were perfect for large groups. And the scenery was beautiful and peaceful. well worth the trip.

Cabin is VERY outdated and has poor air circulation. Pretty sure everything is from the original build. For the price I would have expected better quality. Electrical outlets are old and don’t “hold” the power cords well at all. Definitely a ways up the mountain. But it suited our needs and was plenty big enough for us.

My Dream Cabin

My Dream Cabin

My family and I loved this cabin. It's surrounded by woods which what we wanted. The cabin is equipped with everything we need and very spacious for a family of 13. The pool table in the basement is a plus for teenagers to hang out. My favorite part of the cabin is the wrapped-around deck. Also, the manager is very helpful and always catered to our needs. It's my dream cabin getaway. Though we didn't like driving on the gravel road, we all had a wonderful time staying in this cozy place.

We loved the deck and the cabin had great spaces for our group of 4 couples. The cabin could use some updating, and the walls are really thin though. Basement smelled a little and there were some cobwebs in corners.

Had a great stay. The property is located quite a ways up the mountain with a dirt road. We left our bikes at the base at the office lot and road back and forth up the hill in the truck. Great stay.

The house was great for an extended family. There was enough space and separation of bedrooms for each family to have their own space to escape to. The common spaces were spacious enough that we could all gather to hang out. The deck was big enough we could all be out there at once. We loved this house.

This cabin was built by John and Virgina Koenig of Webster. Friends of my parents. My dad actually helped wire the cabin I did not know this until arriving at the cabin and making the connection What a fun discovery!!

This is a secluded rural getaway..we had beds for at least 12 in this cozy cabin, it was clean and we had a full kitchen and 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms , also a pool table and ping pong table as well as a small tv and DVD player stocked with family movies and board games...Julie in the office was very helpful and sweet, only minutes away from Rushmore and downtown Rapid city.

Location is not clearly addressed but once you find it your ok. parking is tight... this is a group cabin but can not support many vehicles especially with a trailer. Cabin has NO air conditioning (A/C). You have to open the windows. Staff was very understanding and good to work with.

This is a lovely property with a lot of space. It is an adventure to drive up the mountain and find the place, but once you get there it's all good. It is an older home with older carpet and no air conditioning, but it was very clean and spacious and we had a lot of fun there.

Great property in the Black Hills

The house was perfect for what we needed. We had poor cell service and no WiFi in the area but that didn’t bother me. Beautiful area and plenty of sleeping space for my group of 9.
