The breakfast was an extra to the cost of my room in this instance. £13.50 and served between 08.00 hrs and 09.00 hrs. in the main pub building. It was a real gut buster!!! Fruit Juice, Tea or coffee, cereal options followed buy a full vegetarian cooked breakfast. 2 eggs, 3 sausage, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, potato and mixed toast (3 slices) Jam and marmalade etc. couldn't eat it all on the 1st day, and deleted the Toms and potato on the 2nd. Set up for the rest of the day.
Had dinner the 1st evening (Wednesday) which was very palatable, Got back to the Swan the 2nd evening, (Thursday) and after freshening up went for dinner again but was informed the kitchen closes at 20.00 hrs!? Its was only 20.05hrs at this point. Thankfully I can only assume what was the landlady came over and said as I was guest she would have a word with the kitchen. Very nice fish and Chips thank you.
My 3rd night (Friday) I was running late after finishing my work, so rang ahead just before 20.00hrs, explained I was a guest and was the kitchen open, but the answer was no. So had to make alternative arrangements, and when I got back I went straight to bed so didn't book breakfast the following morning.
Accommodation was very nice, very clean, bed a little soft for my liking, and a little stuffy. Tea making facilities with complimentary biscuits and ear plugs.
No information at check in regarding the kitchen times.
Dogs only allowed in the bar which is the corner of a larger room with 2 tables, bench seat and 6 bar stools. With the locals in for a drink we were almost sitting on each others laps! Thankfully there is a 2nd room to eat in which accommodates dogs, which I can only assume is usable for dog owners to sit and drink as well.
The Wimbrie tower I believe it's called, is next to the pub, and very interesting piece of history it is too. Various churches have been built on the site, and have all suffered with subsidence, only the tower remains from the final attempt.
And with it, the bells. Which must be cracked or warped but defiantly out of tune, and let's the whole village know it every 30 mins day and night as it strikes to tell you the hour. and at 03.00 03.30 04.00 etc you now realise with the room windows open, that is why the complimentary ear plugs are there!

The view
Mattress was very uncomfortable and needs replacing. Dirty cups left in the bathroom from previous guests and the bath had dirty brown marks- not been cleaned properly. Only one hand towel provided
