The Berlage is much more than a hotel - it’s a living museum dedicated to the renowned Dutch architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage. The interiors have been beautifully preserved, allowing guests to experience the character and atmosphere of the original epoch.
What made my stay truly exceptional was the outstanding hospitality of the staff. They warmly welcomed me, took the time to share the fascinating history of the building, gave me a guided tour of the hotel, and even showed me the rooftop, where I enjoyed spectacular views over The Hague.
To make my stay even more memorable, I received a complimentary room upgrade with a beautiful view of the cathedral. The hotel also offers thoughtful complimentary touches, including excellent coffee and delicious pastries.

This is truly an amazing place for tram afficionados. The rumble and noise of the machines as they pass by your hotel room window and bed by only a few meters is impressive and immersive. They will surely keep you up late and wake you up early, guaranteeing you to be the first to get a good view of the probably very interesting HTM trams.
If you are not a tram afficionado, and instead prefer a good night's sleep, than this hotel may not be the best pick for you.
