A ten minute walk to Jhihben Forest area.
The hilltop hot spring is really why you want to stay here. A great view while you soak in the water.
The couple that runs the place are really nice, the wife even speaks a decent amount of English, enough for basic communication.
They made a warm bean drink every morning as part of the breakfast. They mixed it with coffee and called it a “Taiwan cappuccino”. It’s worth a try.
I prefer private hot springs in Taiwan, so I always book a room with my own tub. Unfortunately, the bathtub water was extremely chlorinated. So much that I couldn’t really enjoy the private soak due to the smell. The outside public hot spring didn’t have this problem.
There was no kettle in the room. I even asked if I could borrow one, but I was told no, that it was illegal (probably something lost in translation). There is a water filter on the ground floor, but still, not having a kettle in the room was inconvenient. Also no refrigerator.
I was backpacking this time around Taiwan, and this place wasn’t easy without a car. Not impossible, but far from convenient. The bus only comes about once every 50 minutes. The closest restaurant area for dinner and convenience store is about a 20 minute walk down the hill, which isn’t too bad, but then you have to walk uphill back to the hotel.

Für uns war die Lage ideal, direkt an der Bushaltestelle gelegen. Hotel liegt zudem fußnahe zum sehr schönen Forest Park. Das Hotel ist in jedem Aspekt chinesisch. Das Wlan hervoragend, die Betten sauber und bequem.
Die Wirtin ist extrem bemüht, freundlich und aufmerksam. Wirt und Hilfskraft freundlich, man hat uns bei Ankunft auch geholfen die Koffer zum Zimmer zu bringen.
Da es in der Region kein 7/11 uä. Geschäft gibt, und man sich nicht mit Essen eindecken kann, war es sehr gut, dass auch in der Nebensaison ein Frühstück angeboten wurde. Das hatten wir nicht überall. Das Frühstück ist sehr delikat, umfangreich und bietet auch Toastbrot, Hanuta und Erdnußbutter, sowie Eier für den "westlichen Geschmack" an, für Gäste, welche das gerne möchten. Zudem sehr guter Kaffee aus dem Vollautomat (leider keine Milch). Unser Zimmer verfügte über eine Badewanne mit einem heißen Quellwasser Zugang. Außerdem hat die Anlage einen sehr großen Außenhotpot mit verschiedenen Becken und Temperaturen.
Nichts, was man nicht mit etwas Einsatz verbessern kann: Kein Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher im Zimmer, sondern unten. Keine Zahnputzbecher (wie auf dem Bild beworben und zu sehen), wohin mit den Koffern (kein Kofferbock vorhanden). Der für die Allgemeinheit nutzbare Kühlschrank war unsauber. Unsere Zimmertür war innen sehr verfleckt und ecklig. Als Wirt hätte ich nicht 3 Tage lang den selben Jogginganzug an, der schon bei unserer Ankunft voller Flecken gewesen ist.
Zudem hatten wir ein Deluxe-Zimmer gebucht und ich konnte beim besten Willen nicht erkennen, wo das Deluxe zu finden ist. Auch ist die Anlage (wie leider häufig in Taiwan zu sehen) ungepflegt. Was kaputt ist, bleibt einfach stehen. Im Treppenhaus werden Gegenstände rumpelig, unordentlich und für den Gast unschön verräumt.
