About this cottage rental
Our property is a 5 acre lifestyle block located on Udy Street, it's arguably one of the prettiest streets in Greytown and a very popular walking route. Access to The Brambles is down a long driveway lined with olive trees and the property is not visible from the road. On the property we have one dog, chickens, sheep and our beloved Kunekune Pigs Frank & Louis who will more than likely run up to the fence to meet you on arrival, they love a scratch behind the ears
There's a walking track at the end of our street that takes you through farmland and down to the river which is a great way to see some of the countryside.
We have a large Maremma Italian Sheepdog called Ricco. He loves to say a very enthusiastic hello to new visitors. He can look intimidating because of his big bark and size (that’s his job 😉) but he’s absolutely harmless and he will more than likely trot in front of your car and lead you to the cottage
Greytown boasts having the most complete Victorian Main St in NZ. Just over 1 hour drive from Wellington, Greytown has become a Mecca for boutique shopping and has some great restaurants and cafes. We are 15mins from Martinborough with an abundance of wineries and olive groves. The property is a 2min drive or a pleasant 15min walk from the town centre
So if you're looking for a tranquil rural farm experience that's easy walking distance to town then this is the place for you but if you're not an animal or dog lover then it's fair to say that this is not the place for you 😊

Friendly hosts and a nice little getaway spot close to the township. Enjoyed our walk to the river via a lovely country pathway.

Nice spot. Shops close by and had a lovely walk down to the river - felt like we were in the country.Nothing ultra fancy but very clean and tidy and hubby really enjoyed the complimentary coffee.

Rustic. A bit small for us. Coffee machine had no instructions, but plenty of choices of tea. Bed comfortable, plenty of hot water. Smoke alarm beeped very loudly for two hours from 6am to 8am at 30 second intervals - battery? We left before 9am. Enjoyed the eggs left for us, but ate out all the time. Enjoyed Felix the cat's company in the evenings. Towels very rough textured - not nice.
