The location was great, close to Raya Pasar. Pleasant rooms and decorative common areas. The receptionist were not well versed in English, but more than made up for this with his hospitable manners. On top of this, the kind owner is well versed in English and answered all the question we've had.

A good night stay just before heading out to the airport. The location is nearby to a local breakfast joint, Rajawali. Also close to the Nelvi shop selling traditional fabric like batik and other attires for your last minute shopping.
The same problem I had with another accomodation I stayed in Padang which was the AC. It was so hot at night even with the AC on at lowest temperature. Probably because they don't do regular maintenance. The fact that the place is like a residencial house with rooms means that at the front part of the house is where the rooms where located and the back part of the house where the staffs rooms or living quarters. You would hear staffs walking and talking and see staffs seating infront of your room watching the tv as the reception and the lounging area is located right infront of the rooms. As the back area of the residence is under renovation, you could see workers walking back and forth in the morning as you were about to have your morning tea in the same space. Clearly privacy is a huge issue. If you don't mind having no privacy, then it would be fine. The towels used in the toilet should be changed as well as there were stains seen on them. Another issue I had was that the price shown on my booking.com app for the rooms were not the same as the one on the app of the hotel worker. So I had to pay extra for the rooms.
