About this condo rental

Located in St. Croix, this charming condo for $81 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. The perfect air conditioned efficiency studio for an adventurous couple. Recently remodeled, you'll love the peace and tranquilness of our little mountain top. This is central to everything and located on the scenic route with the best views on the island! Over 180 degrees of views looking East to Buck Island and Christiansted Harbor to the South West across Windsor's Forest to the South Shore. Watch the ships sail across the seas. Deer regularly pass through the property and drive. Just 10 minutes from Cane Bay Beach and some of the world's best scuba diving off "The Wall." Only 15 minutes from downtown Christiansted, and 20 minutes from downtown Fredericksted, this property is centrally located if you're looking to venture across the island during your trip! The owner of the property is happy to take you on guided hikes to the tide pools, lighthouse, into the rain forest to see the beer drinking pigs, or better yet take you to some of the best shore diving spots on the island. The studio comes equipped with a full size day bed. A small dining nook set for two, kitchen with gas stove, microwave, and fridge also await you at Windsor's Rest. Windsor's Rest is part of the Windchime Estates, a property known for it's constant Eastern breezes, and built from pieces of the late trimaran which sailed the world twice, Windchime! You'll want to rent a Jeep while staying at the property as the roads on the island can be rough to drive at times. WIFI and a light breakfast is included, and so is your very own bottle of Cruzan Rum! You will absolutely love your stay at Windsor's Rest! Full use of the studio apartment named Windsor's Rest, and access to an outdoor gazebo. We're very friendly, and love meeting new people. We also understand when you just want to be alone or do your own thing! Happy to help when needed, or head out to a bar or restaurant too! We live on the North Shore Scenic Route, with some of the best views of the island. Our home and apartments sit above Windsor's Forest, a nature preserve. Deer regularly roam through the neighborhood and yard. We're just a few minutes from Cane Bay Beach, 10-15 from Christiansted, and 15-20 from Fredericksted. One of the most central spots on the island. You'll need to rent a car if you're staying with us on the North Shore, preferably with some height to it to help with the mountain roads. We recommend a Jeep. On the island, many of the roads are unpaved, or need to be repaved (pot holes everywhere!) Do not wait until the last minute to try and secure a rental vehicle. Make your reservation now. With workers and tourists, many times and vehicles cannot be secured the same day you arrive without a reservation. Besides, renting a Jeep means you get to take the top off and enjoy the island life the way it should be! :) We live in the mountains on St. Croix. It's beautiful, but the roads are not always maintained well by the Virgin Islands Government. We live on a dirt road, require you have a car rental at minimum (no public transport), and we recommend that you rent a Jeep or SUV when staying with us. In general, roads on St. Croix are not that great. Jeeps are the most popular vehicles on island, so be sure to rent one early!

This property is not as advertised on the site. What they do not tell you is that they price it so low because in order to get to the property you have to upgrade your car rental to an off road 4x4. This was very disappointing and resulted in us not being able to drive to the property. After 15 hours of travel from Colorado to St Croix, we were very exhausted and just wanted to get to our room. We drove around for 2 1/2 hours in an area with no cell service and were completely lost. We could not call the owner because there was little to no cell service in the area. We had to drive almost to Christiansted to get service and when we called the owner there was no answer. The text message "linking" us to the property manager did not include their phone number so we could not contact them either. This property is not locatable by GPS. The owner gives you a pin to let you know if you are in the "general vicinity" and then provides directions like Google Map yourself to a school... There is a power pole with a Beware of Dog sign etc. This list of directions with landmarks that is not on Google Maps, because they do not provide road names, was EXTREMELY long and very tedious. (Please note we used Google Maps to find everything else we needed to find on the island with no problems.) We finally found the dirt road with the beware of dog sign and proceeded about 15 feet (5 meters) when the ruts and washout on the dirt road were scraping the bottom of our car so bad we were scared it would cause us to get stuck or do major damage to the car. (Please note we live in Colorado and go rock crawling in our tricked out Jeep Wrangler over crazy terrain. We are well versed in the limitations of the car we are driving and the conditions of the road. Also we drove all over this island and were able to drive on ALL roads including the properties we visited in the Rainforest that is HOW BAD THIS ROAD IS AND IS NOT MAINTAINED.) After scaping the bottom of the car and the extremely difficult journey to even just get to the "Dirt Road" that this unit is on, we decided to turn around since the car would not make it. (We are in a brand new Toyota Corolla Midsized car). We were exhausted and defeated so, we booked a room at another hotel. I contacted the owner and they refused to cancel our reservation or refund any portion of our fees. It feels like my money was stolen. I paid $450 for a service I did not receive. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THIS VRBO.

Don't rely on Google to get you there. Centrally located but out of town. A really nice, quiet location with good views.

The owner promised to show his guests around the island to various sites of interest in his Ad description of the rental. Only after taking FULL PAYMENT in advance was did he disclose that he would not be on the island at the times I reserved, AND he refused to refund my money there after! What a tiny man with a tiny scam. BEWARE!!!!

This property was a great basecamp for exploring everything St. Croix has to offer. It is located in the hills near the North Shore, about 15 minutes from Christiansted, about 15 minutes from Cane Bay (the place to go for excellent diving and a good beach), and less than 10 minutes from Salt River Bay (the place to go for kayak tours). It is quiet and secluded, with a nice view all the way out to Buck Island. It is located at the end of a steep dirt road, but with my SUV I had no issues getting there. The inside was clean and well maintained. Will and Shaleece were wonderful hosts. They reached out with helpful directions and information in advance, provided maps and a binder with restaurants and things to do, and even provided some food and snacks. I stayed here a week and would gladly return.

The location is excellent. Very close to kayak tours and Flyers bar. Just a few miles from the airport and downtown Christiansted. The property has some construction going on during the weekday by 8 or 9am but it didn't disturb us. No A/C in our room; I was comfy, but hot blooded hubby had a hard time cooling off. Hosts were accommodating, basic snacks and staples were very helpful. Maybe consider a handful of creamer packets to encourage use of coffee, oatmeal, etc. Beautiful, quiet property. Great view.
