Comfy and well thought out
Busy road , not ideal for large dogs , lounge has a lot of furniture in for a small room……outside area pleasant but small

Hideaway Cottage was amazing everything you would need was there. Very nicely decorated and set in a beautiful location.
Nothing to dislike, it was perfect for us such a beautiful little cottage.

The perfect little cottage in the perfect location. It might be small but sure is mighty, everything you need is there to enjoy your stay, the kitchen has everything even down to tea, coffee and sugar in the little pantry cupboard and a Nespresso Coffee machine with starter pods provided which was lovely to enjoy in the front patio of a morning. All towels & linens are provided too along with toiletries which was a nice touch.
The cottage was so clean and is well maintained , the locals are very friendly and stop for a chat which was lovely, they even gave suggestions of places to visit and short cuts to get about. Its the perfect base for exploring - Whitby & Robinhoods Bay are about 10mins away by car, Staithes is about 20-30 mins away and is a lovely village. Shame we were only there for 3 nights as you could easily nip to Scarborough or Teeside or just drive around to the other local villages
There is a Spar/Post Office, Bakers, Butchers and Eskdale Fisheries at the top of the lane is superb (can eat in or take out)
We took our small dog with us, her first trip away and she loved it, national park paths all around for her to explore, being allowed into most shops in Whitby and generally getting fussed over
We will definitely be back, might try a winter break as with the fire on I imagine the cottage really shows its charm even more then
The only downside was the TV in the front room was not working, has sound but no picture but hey ho these things happen it did not spoil our visit as to be honest after spending the day out and about we were done in so just used the upstairs TV and chilled watching a film in bed, The host got straight back to me when let them know about the issue

Location was good with lots of accessible walks. The bed was comfortable & the location was peaceful.
The shower was temperamental, it switched between incredibly hot to cold, there wasn’t a consistent temperature, it also lacked any power, making showering an unenjoyable experience.
There was also a distinct smell from the bathroom that couldn’t be masked with scent diffusers or having the window open.
