Exceptional

The location and ambience of the lodge is perfect for a weekend getaway. The views are unparalleled and surreal. The lodge staff welcomed us with warmth, friendliness and hospitality. They are professional and we'll informed (and connected) with the local attractions. With their support we were able to attend shows and explore the surroundings. The lodge facilitates excursions such as the traditional light show, renting of scooters, massages, arranging transport and more. The surrounding areas are accessible by scooter and the driving conditions here are safe enough. The lodge is air-conditioned and mostly free of mosquitoes.

Spendid!

The atmosphere was picturesque. The staff was very friendly and helpful. you are able to wash and dry your clothes. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The food in their restaurant was delicious. Highly recommended

Superb

Staff did everything possible to accommodate our needs as we were travelling with a little baby. Location is perfect to rest and enjoy wonderful views of the karst mountains.

The pool was not so clean the first day.

Can recommend and would definitely go there again.

Extremely friendly staff. Most speak English well enough to communicate. You can even rent E Scooters and bikes there for a very reasonable price. Hotel is located in the rural area and very lovely.

Do not recommend the Deluxe Suite, only big but no design or lux to be seen at all.

Close to the riverside, provides with good food from breakfast to dinner.

Property would benefit of an overall renewal, in particular the heating system is highly ineffective, resulting in a cold room. The support heater was an old model, quite insufficient to catch-up. The common areas of the hotel were very cold, too. Wifi signal in the room was extremely weak and working only if next to the router.

This is our 2nd stay at the Apsara plus 1 stay at the neighbouring sister hotel Moondance. It's ideal for hiking, biking, e-biking, rafting, rock climbing, and rafting ........... Check-in was easy, just hand in the passports/ID and they'll bring them back to you when registered, the public area has a cosy fireplace, a small bar and a restaurant area. Tea and coffee are on hand all day, and afternoon snacks are provided as well. The restaurant food is mostly Chinese but tasty and a few other bits such as chicken popcorn and chips for the kids. Breakfast is fine with cereals, toast, a range of hot foods, eggs and noodle soups. The pool is open all year and the brave in winter can take a dip! there is outdoor seating overlooking the river and a rainproof gazebo in wet weather. The rooms are spacious and rustic. the beds are clean and comfortable with aircon for hot and cold as needed. Some rooms are suitable for families singles couples and friends so plenty of choices. Tips - contact the hotel for we chat connections and they can be super helpful and cater for your needs. free bikes are on hand and the hotel can help with a range of activities, many an easy cycle or within an hours walk. hiking the back trails along the rivers and karst is easy and well worth it but download apps to your phone such as MapsMe, Locus Map and A Map have most of the paths marked between them. The nearest train station is Yangshuo 2h30m ish from Guangzhou and 4-5h30m from Wuhan and the airport at Guilin. The hotel can arrange transfers.

Peaceful country retreat in beautiful Yangshuo

The staff went out of their way to help me whenever possible. The room was clean, well-maintained and comfortable. The location is out of the main city area, but that is what I wanted.

A home away from home.

Breakfast was varied and tasty. The staff was accommodating in taking our orders and it took them just a couple of minutes to have the food ready.

The lodge is very cozy and welcoming but it is time to upholster some of the couches and cushions in the lobby area. Also, the poolside beds could be a little cleaner or simply replaced.

Can be better - maybe in the low season

Location amazing by the river and local landscape. Staff is kind and will Do his best to make you happy . Nice and cozy interior design and outdoor pool area.

Very noisy from other guests. We were bothered a lot from it and couldn’t enjoy and relax in the hotel. This is very shame . Cannot blame the hotel but maybe the staff should be aware of it and make sure ask guests to respect other guests and keep quiet. Specially at night. Breakfast was not too much .

AMAZING

- Unlimited coffee (amazing for a German) - Easy rent for scooter - Hotel can book all activities for you in advance (sometimes getting a discount compared to purchasing in Yangshuo) - We just traveled as a couple. BUT: for families this definitely is the No. 1 hotel you should choose.

Beautiful

My room had a balcony with a lovely view of the pool and mountains. In-room massages are available and very affordable. The breakfast was good, as was the restauarant food in general. Free water and afternoon "tea" (snacks). The pool area was very nice and provided shade at most times of the day. Staff were very nice and welcoming.

Amazing Apsara!!!

The staff were exceptional! Every day they went above and beyond for us. Our room (Deluxe suite with balcony) had an amazing view and was such a lovely room! The location of the lodge is idyllic and so close to everything (the river/West Street is 10 minutes in a Didi) the scooter rental service was great and the hotel charged the scooter for us when we forgot! The trips out from the hotel- bamboo rafting, white water rafting etc were all organised to perfection and was completely stress free! Would definitely recommend this lovely little hotel to anyone visiting Yangshuo!!

The restaurant is very cosy and gives a homely feel. However, there were far too many guests and not enough tables for almost all meal times. This was particularly bad during breakfast. Breakfast was also very limited. There was not enough variety and very limited options. There was also not enough space to make toast and some times the food was cold.

Apsara lodge made our Christmas - thankyou! Highly recommend for a weekend away

My girlfriend and I came for a Christmas weekend and we were so glad we did. The lodge is located near the stunning Karst mountains, small farms and a river stream adjacent to a small village. The walks nearby are beautiful, I was constantly taking photos. The staff had a log fire and a Christmas tree in the communal area which made a perfect cozy environment in winter. The complimentary afternoon tea (cakes, biscuits & fruit) and all-day coffee were a welcome surprise. The GuiHua wine (桂花酒) made locally is now my drink of choice. The food from the restaurant was both generous and delicious. The staff were beyond friendly and speak some English. And the price is very reasonable for what is offered. I cannot speak more highly of this place. Highly recommend. Oh, and their cat HuaHua (花花) is adorable :)

It's a little far away from Yangshuo town centre. We specifically wanted to be away from the town centre so this was ideal for us. But it may be an inconvenience for those who wish to walk to the town centre. But a DiDi/taxi will get you there easily and they know the lodge location well.

Amazing experience

Very pleasant journey, beautiful hotel with stunning view. The staff is very kind and helpful, providing very useful tour suggestions and good price of tickets. The breakfast is sufficient, room is very comfortable with great bath. Also, very delicious afternoon tea desert (coconut sweets)

All good, I would come back next time!

Homestay comforts with boutique hotel quality

The Apsara is cosy like a homestay but fancy like a boutique hotel. Food is great, you're close enough to a number of activities (moon hill, ruyi peak, paragliding, quad bikes etc.), but it's also quiet enough to just enjoy nature and the serenity that comes with it.

The communication with staff is a lot better and easier than most places in China (the dialect here is so tricky to understand) that said, it's still a little challenging getting some messages through and some things arranged. No major problems though. I would, however, suggest they offer a (paid) service for guests arriving from the wharf. We took a boat trip from Guilin and it's really difficult and expensive getting a taxi/didi from the dock. The Apsara does offer a free pick up from a hotel a few kms away from the dock but getting there is quite an effort so you might as well just take the taxi all the way to Apsara (which also, fyi, is not named as such on map apps, it's called Yunwu)

Very good

We stayed in the cottage, which is lovely. In-room AC which worked very well. Food at the restaurant was good. We were able to book bikes and bamboo raft 2 days in a row. Sunset watching from the canal was magical!

A little far out, we didn't make it back into town at all. Some confusion with activities, we thought we reserved motorbikes but went to pick them up and there were all gone. This happened to another customer also.

Awesome Stay and outstanding service!

The property is very cozy! Nice location, great food and outstanding staff! Sally helped to book the attractions and guided us in a great bicycle ride. Everything was exceptional since the welcome after booking till the check out and transportation arrangements. Highly recommended for Kids as well

Great stay

We initially were going to stay for 3 nights but extended to a total of 5 because we enjoyed the hotel accommodations and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The location is nice and we enjoyed the trips they helped book and our own adventures on bikes.

A very nice hotel, very comfortable with professional staff always here to help. Very good food at the hotel. Hotel can also arrange visits off the beaten path with a awesome guide that will guide you away from the crowds. If you like walking and cycling, this is just perfect.

Great hotel well worth the upgrade to a balcony. West street is about 15 min taxi journey which has a range of bars and restaurants. All staff was great but especially Cherry. She has a good level of English helped us to book things such as taxis and cooking classes she was very organised. She is a credit to the hotel.
