An expensive stay to still have to deal with homeless druggies

The hotel itself is nice, and relatively new. The rooms were large and comfortable. Was able to fit two adults and two kids in there without a problem.

The price was ridiculous, but I understand that it's Berkeley. Still, $450/night and >$50 to valet park a car is excessive. That said, if I'm going to spend that much money on a hotel room, do you know what I DON'T want to have to deal with? Homeless, drug-addled tweakers wandering into the lobby in the morning to steal free breakfast, cutting in line in front of all the guests while the hotel staff just ignore the situation. I get that it's Berkeley which, like the entire San Francisco area, suffers from an unaddressed endemic of homeless people and drugs, but I expect that for this much money they could keep them out of the hotel.

Highly recommended for visiting Berkeley

The clerk who take care of check-in was super professional -- really excellent. The housekeeping people were always polite and careful. Lourdes, in particular, really excelled. All personnel was impeccable and highly professional, including people helping at breakfast. Breakfast is included and a lot of fun with the waffle stations. The fitness center is well organized an open 24h. Berkeley downtown BART station just a few steps away.

Double charged, even you already paid on booking.com they will charge you a random amount every day since you arrived. Not sure why but it happened to many people already and seems they won’t refund at all.

Annoying

I was charged for my room twice due to receptionist inexperience. I pre paid for my room online, she said “I found your reservation” and still charged me again. Unnecessary time taken to receive a refund that was simply due to incompetence.

The breakfast is very good, the service staff is very nice. The location is convenience for us. We are very satisfied with this hotel and it is highly recommended.

There was absolutely no breakfast option - even if we wanted to order at Divina restaurant. And front desk staff was so not at all friendly. The bathroom with the open shower was a disaster with water everywhere and the mattresses kept moving!

Excellent, and I will come again.

The breakfast was not great but having a kitchen was wonderful. I just picked up some breakfast things and made my own. That seemed like a healthier choice than eggs and bacon. I found my suite comfortable and very quiet. The location was very close to the rapid transit that takes you to SF airport.

I don't have any complaints really.
