Nestled in Indian Rocks Beach, this attractive cottage for $209 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores! Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. We had a lovely visit and enjoyed the cottage and beach so much! The cottage is cute and homey with all the comforts and necessities of home in the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bath. The grounds are fantastic for sitting in the shade and sipping coffee while watching the birds and ocean. The beach and ocean is clean, not very crowded, and loaded with sealife and birds to watch! The host is fantastic, very friendly, helpful and responsive to questions. I will definitely return to this lovely place.

We had a great time at Sandy Shores Garden cottage! We were celebrating a special birthday with a weeklong event that included beach, golf, Bucs football game, food, fun, sun, walking, craft beer, nature preserve, shopping, exploring and much needed R&R. We found the cottage so very quaint and furnished in old style Florida fashion...dark wood interior, turquoise colored bathroom tile, etc. The bathroom and shower is small but served our needs. The hot water gets hot quickly-we love that. Soft water results in flat hair but hey, we're on vacation so who cares?
The kitchen has all the basics. We ate in a few times. Anecdote Brewing is right across the street and we love craft beer so a big plus there for us! Guilty Sea Sports Bar nearby had super margaritas for $5 and the bone in wings were great! I did used the big washer and the dryer. Only $4 - honor system. There is laundry soap but no dryer sheets or balls so may want to bring those.
You can be as private as you want or socialize with the other guests. The beach is about a two minute walk from the door (depending how fast you stroll) There are chairs & beach items...Everything you need to have a good time. There's a grill too! I loved taking my coffee to the tall chairs to work on my puzzles. Myrtle is a wonderful gracious hostess! We loved our get-away and hope to return someday and maybe try the Gulf unit. We highly recommend this location and rental. Cheers!

We’d been desperate for a long weekend away, and Ms. Myrtle and her beautiful property did not disappoint! The cottage was clean and had everything that we needed for our 3-night stay. We brought along breakfast items and enjoyed eating outside and sipping coffee overlooking the beach every morning. Check-in/out were both seamless. Myrtle was a quick phone call away (though we didn’t need to call, except to notify her we were packed and leaving) and she was frequently available to chat or ask a question as she was out and about caring for the property at some point each day. Overall, a wonderful stay with a wonderful hostess!!

My wife and I were looking for a long weekend at the beach. We have always loved the Indian Rocks Beach area. Booked Mrs. Hall's Sandy Shores and we could not have picked a better spot. On the beach , out door sitting areas with perfect view for sunsets in the evening and a morning cup of coffee. You are right in the heart of Indian Rocks and can walk to all the great spots IRB has to offer. The place is maintained impeccably . Hope to make it back in the future.

This property is fantastic. Everything you need for a day or a week on the beach is available. The location is fantastic. The private beach can’t be beat. I think we have found our new go to beach destination.
Myrtle is a wonderful host. You can see the pride she takes in the property. I wish we had spent more time getting to know her while there. We most certainly will on our next visit.

Our stay was wonderful and the best part about our stay was the location of the property and the extremely accommodating host. You have your own private walk to the beach with everything you would need to enjoy the beach available. You are also right across the surf shop that has awesome souvenirs, swimsuits, sunscreen, beach toys, etc. Next to the surf shop is a CVS that has a small grocery and beverage section along with any other things you may need. Also, you have the trolley stop just to the left of the property which is the best and cheapest way to get around to clearwater, madeira, and treasure island. On top of that, your are surrounded with lots of great places to eat, all with in a short walking distance.
On top of all this, the host is a very sweet, kind, and accommodating person. She was quick to answer texts and phone calls, and sense our flight to go back home flew out really late, she let us keep our luggage on the property which gave us the opportunity to enjoy the day before heading back home.
This should be on top of your list of places to stay!

Very Beach feel and decorations. Great access to Beach with private walkway. Lot of storage and nice kitchen appliances. Myrtle was very nice and accommodating.

The cottage is very cute with storage everywhere. We really appreciated the kitchen - it’s well stocked with everything you need to make a great meal. The place is tight and we used every inch but had what we needed. We found the bed pretty uncomfortable (definitely soft and peaked in the center) but the couch was comfy. It’s amazing to be right on the beach and the garden is absolutely stunning. Place is a gem and definitely a more homey experience than a resort or hotel.

This was our second trip to Sandy Shores and it did not disappoint. The location is perfect and you can't ask for a better host. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. The beach is easily accessible and Myrtle provides everything you need to enjoy your time there. We look forward to many more trips here.

The Garden Cottage was extremely clean, in a great location and had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. Myrtle is a great host and made herself available to us during the entire time. She provided beach chairs/umbrellas which we used everyday. We brought bicycles and she had a safe, outdoor space for us to lock them up. We were pleasantly surprised with the quiet nights since the garden cottage is located right off the road. The only negative would be the tiny shower, but that was manageable with all the great positives this property offers.

Great property in the spirit of old school Florida bungalows with excellent location on Indian Rocks Beach. No need for a car once situated as it has plenty of great restaurants and bars right across the street or within close walking distance (Crabby Bill's and Slyce are a must!). Beach is a less than 1 minute walk with a few beach chairs provided you can take with you. The unit is quite small as described, I would recommend for 1-2 people for maximum comfort. There is a pull out sofa bed that my son used and the master is just off the family room. The AC is a wall unit in the main room so you'll want to keep the bedroom door open and ceiling fans on to keep the bedroom cool at night. There is also no bathroom exhaust fan so keep that in mind if there is more than 1 person ;) Overall a great wee place in a great location and the host Myrtle is lovely!

We have visited Pinellas County many times, but this was our first time at Indian Rocks Beach. The location was perfect, and the beach beautiful, but we are a family of 4, and the place was a bit too small for us. We think it should be advertised for 2 people only.
