Our family absolutely loved our stay at this property! Steps away from the beach with fantastic views of the ocean from both decks. We enjoyed incredible sunsets from either the deck or the beach every night. The house is so welcoming and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything you will need for an easy, relaxing stay. Communication with them was awesome! We would definitely book this property again if we return to Fort Myers.

We stayed a week at Cardinal Island House and absolutely loved out stay here. Beautiful 2 story home sits about 50 yards from the water. The pictures are great but the house is so much more. Communication with Paul & Christine was fabulous. They are truly great hosts. Each bedroom has its own en suite which was great. Plenty of room to spread out and have your own space but still gather together for family time. Gorgeous views of the gulf and from both decks. You can even watch the sunset from your Master Bedroom deck or right from your bed if you like. there is also Jet ski, Parasailing, SUP, Beach chair and umbrella rentals just a few yards walking South on the beach. This is at the top of our list of rentals that we have stayed at and would definitely love to come back in the future.

The house is amazing; every beach town needs a house like this! It has everything you need. We were especially impressed with the quality of the dishes and cookware. It is a very short walk to the beach. We enjoyed our stay and the owners were easy to work with!

Excellent Location Mid-Island
We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and located literally just steps from the beach - our doggos loved the beach. The location was good at mid-island away from the busy traffic hub. We were impressed with Paul - towards the end of our stay a tropical disturbance was closing in and Paul regularly checked in on us to make sure all was well. We appreciated his concern. A good experience this property is on our list to re-book.

It was 9am and the maid dumped out a bag of shells my daughter and I gathered all week! Pathetic! To pay that much and you don't even have a check out time until 10am like stated.
My bedroom was the master bedroom. I pulled the sheets down to see a couple long black hairs strung along in the bed. Had to strip the bed to wash everything the first day. Not ideal. I didn't check the other beds as I wasn't sleeping in them. My toilet still had feces stuck around the bowl. Shower corners had gunk in them.
Dishwasher dishes were still dirty because the dishwasher doesn't get them clean.
dishes and pots and pans inside cabinets were dirty. Had to rewash everything before using. Kitchen cabinets inside and out probably haven't been cleaned or disinfected in a year. Did not feel comfortable walking around or showering without sandals on. The rugs throughout the house had sand in them. We got both vacuums out to clean up and both did not stuck anything up. Not enough white bath towels and rags for 7 people so we had to do laundry often.

We were getting our stuff organized to be put in the car as I walked downstairs to gather our stuff we left outside on the bottom deck. The maid was already moving our stuff around. She dumped out a ziplock bag of shells my daughter and I had been collecting all week. Completely livid. Completely disrespectful to touch other people's stuff! Memories with my 5 year old gone.
Then the maid tried to grab a bag of dirty clothes I had set by our car to load up. I had to tell her those are my clothes when when says is this trash and she picks it up to take it and she drops them. Wow!
Still not even 930am she starts taking her stuff up stairs as we are trying to get our bags out. You do not go inside when we aren't completely checked out yet. We have until 10am!
Absolutely do not recommend! Unless you want a dirty house and someone to start moving your stuff around before check out and trying to throw your stuff away!

Family spring break
Wonderful place. Able to walk to the beach without having to cross a street and only a 2 min walk to the water. Great sunset views and can see the water from the both decks and the main living area of the home. Perfect main bedroom/bathroom that has a great view and is extremely comfortable. Also very close to grocery store and pharmacy. Would come here again for sure.

Perfect Beach House
Our stay was amazing and the house had everything we needed. The house was clean and ready for our arrival, including a bouquet of fresh flowers! The kitchen was extremely well stocked and has everything you need to cook. The view and location can not be beat. Amazing coffee and cocktail views of dolphins and sunsets. Lots of shells and plenty of beach chairs and tables. The hosts were quick to answer any questions we had. It is a 10 min walk to Publix. This is the perfect house for a beach retreat!

Great house! / Great Location!
We spent a week in Fort Myers Beach and had a great time! This house has everything you need to have a great time at the beach! Beach is less 250 steps to the beach and the views from the main/upper decks are great!! House is very close to Publix which is a bonus bc traffic on the island can get messy. The internet speed (DSL) was a little slow but it served it purpose for our needs. If we head back to FMB we will be sure to rent this house again!

Due to dietary restrictions we prepare at least 2 meals a day. The food store is close enough that we biked there as often as we drove as were the two farmers markets. The home is fully stocked with plenty of cookware and utensils. You don't feel like you are in a rental. because of the high quality of the furnishings and supplies. It is obvious that this family takes pride in providing a great property. They are easy to reach and have taken the time to make personal suggestions on where to rent bikes, activities to do, and places to find specialty items.
You can see and hear the ocean from the house. The beach begins about 30' from the porch, no need to put on shoes or cross a street! Just mosey down a private path at the end of the driveway.

Hate to give this review bc then everyone will want to stay! The house is a perfect getaway with or without guests. If you do have guests, everyone is comfortable with their own en-suite bathroom access. Nice updates, comfortable furniture, great location on the island. We definitely will ask to rent again!

Perfect Thanksgiving getaway!
The house was perfect with beach access right out the door! There were plenty of beach chairs and toys. House furnishings were comfortable and family friendly. I would definitely consider renting the property again.

Perfect Location & Pretty Home
We really enjoyed the house and the insane proximity to the beach. We spent most of our time on the porches or in the sand, and if this is your goal, this house is perfect for that.
A couple of things in the listing are incorrect, so note that the laundry is not coin operated and there are no bicycles, which we were highly disappointed to find out once we got there. As it would have made our trip more fun. It was just two of us in the property and if we had filled up the bedrooms, I think it would have been difficult to fit everyone in the living area as it only seats 4 comfortably, and we would have had to eat each meal outside in order to sit together in this property. That wasn't an issue for us, but we chatted about how if we had come with everyone we wanted to, that this would have been a problem.
There is a paddle board/kyack/wave runner rental within a 2 minute walk of this property and we took advantage of that! Which was an unexpected bonus.
The owners are lovely people. I had to ask a few questions and there was a maintenance issue while we were there, and they were super accommodating and friendly through the entire experience. I'd say they are probably the nicest owners of a VRBO we have ever dealt with.
The reason I am not giving this a full 5 star review is not because the house and owners were not great, it had to do with the cleanliness and usability of the kitchen. One of the reasons we stay in VRBO's is because I'm a celiac and eating out is a nightmare for me. The kitchen in this house was so cross contaminated and the utensils and pots and pans were not cleaned well from the prior occupant. Even after cleaning everything (including the insides of appliances) I still got sick and stayed sick the ENTIRE VISIT! So, if you're a celiac, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY! If you're not, then go for it. It was difficult to spend so much time in the bathroom on your birthday vacation because of this issue (and I did provide this information to the owner prior to arriving). I won't visit again due to this, but I can't say it's not a nice place to stay with nice owners.
