About this house rental
Located in Kitty Hawk, this charming house for $239 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. The Beech House is located in a super family-friendly neighborhood adjacent to Sea Scape Golf course amid expansive Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve. This area is a rarity on Bodie Island heavily wooded section with super convenient access to the beach, shopping and bike & walking trails. The Living Area has Large Screen TV with surround sound, as well as a karaoke machine. Recreation Room has a large-screen TV/VCR/DVD and pool table; 2 Queen Bunks and a futon provide additional sleeping space. The kitchen is a well-equipped, while the living and dining areas are both beautiful and functional. In addition to the large-screen TV/VCR/DVD the living area has Surround Sound that also extends to screened porch where a volume control is located. There are also loads of games, books, DVD and VCR movies available for your enjoyment, as well as some toys for young children: Check the custom china cupboard and inside ottoman. The Master Bedroom has 'wire' connection to WiFi network, TV/DVD/VCR, massive Master Bath, and an exterior entrance/exit to a private covered porch with stair access to the pool area and back of home. The guest Master Bedroom is only bedroom that overlooks the pool, and has a rocking chair, but no TV. The two pyramid bunk rooms each have TV w/ imbedded DVD player, and has a double-size bottom bunk, single-size top bunk, and a single-size trundle below. The cable unit one 2nd floor can be moved to either of the 3 bedrooms (master or bunks), but should be returned to master bedroom if moved during your stay. Outdoor Fun: The pool area has speaker to Surround Sound which can be turned on, with volume control, from the screened-in porch area, so music/sound can be enjoyed as well for 'outdoor' sound as well as 'indoor' sound. There are quite a few lounge chairs and a few pool floats. In addition to the pool, there is a screened porch, outdoor shower, and hot tub. Beach supplies and yard games are also kept in garage for your use. The beach umbrella can be used for short (due to wind/weather) periods with the outdoor patio table that has center hole for umbrella insertion.

Host notified me two days before arrival that we could check in at noon vs 4:30 pm. Unfortunately we had already made a tee time for golf to finish at 4 timing it for the 4:30 check-in. I asked for the access code to share it with the others staying with me. I was told I would not get the code until noon as that was the check-in time. Every other place I have stayed sends the code several days to a week in advance. The on day of check-in I didn't get the code until 1:30, well after the noon check-in I was allowed. The pool table is up in the 3rd floor which isn't easy to get up the spiral staircase. Plus all cue sticks and no tips so the pool table was useless. Some of pans are scratched and need replacing. Beds were comfortable and house clean. BBQ grill is aging and not placed for easy grilling access. Overall the stay was average.

Bathrooms and kitchen need updating, leak under the kitchen sink, bathroom toilets didn’t fill properly and he tanks often continued to run.
The kitchen was adequately supplied, but we needed to be concerned about the leak whenever we washed dishes or used the dishwasher.

Our kids loved the upstairs party room and it kept things quite for the adults.

This house was perfect for a group of bike riders to stay and the owners allowed us to park our motorcycles inside the garage. House was very clean and well-built. Would definitely recommend this residence to others. Communication was excellent with owner and texted us the code prior to arrival.

Craig and Judy were amazing hosts. Quick to help, answer questions. Even went out of their way to have the pool opened before they needed to for us! House was beautiful and there was so much room for our family of 5. Seeing neighbors out walking dogs, and having them recommend places to go was so nice.

The house is just minutes from the beach, grocery stores, meal options. We purchased takeout several times and ate it in the home. The house is full of comfy furniture and open spaces for a large group to visit. We had two small dogs with us, and we enjoyed walks on the streets surrounding the house. The neighborhood is quiet.

Beautiful well stocked home in a quiet, safe neighborhood, really enjoyed our stay! There was a minor problem when we first arrived but the owners were spot on and the problem was handled quickly. Would definitely stay again!

First time house renters and first time to the OBX for our family of 6. The Beech House had several areas for us to spend together or to be alone. Loved: rooms (& our king bed lol), pool, pool table, grill, DVDs, puzzles & games, screened-in porch, kitchen supplies, W/D, closet & pantry space, garage including pool and beach supplies, location, etc. Family favorite was the Jockey Ridge dunes. A few hiccups ~ lots of bath towels, but only a few hand towels & washcloths and only 1 dish towel were provided. (We bought a dish towel which my daughter who didn't get to bring her dog kept since it had retrievers on it. $150 seems steep for linens & towels). Main tv was missing the remote, only two usable bikes, outside shower had obviously not been used by prior guests (we turned on inside valve & friendly neighbor came to fix), only 3 "beach" chairs, and my son looked up the last night how to cool off the hot tub which was too hot (Judy concurred w/the "fix"). Judy was very apologetic about the miscues. There was plenty of soaps (hand soap, dishwasher, dish, and laundry soap) which was very nice. One suggestion would be to bring Tupperware or Ziploc bags which we brought for our leftovers. Overall, the house was very nice!

The pool and top level rec room were prefect for our kids to just let loose and play while the adults prepared meals in the beautiful and fully stocked kitchen. My favorite was eating breakfast on the screen covered porch and ending the evening relaxing in the hot tub. We had 3 families there at once and there was plenary of space for everyone. This home offers many amenities inside the home and the garage is packed with all your beach and vacation essentials, including, beach chairs, boogie boards, surf boards, sand toys, pool floats and bicycles. The neighborhood is lovely, with a wooded trail right next to the property. Only a 2 min drive to the beach where finding parking was a breeze. Judy and Craig, the owners of this property, were so wonderful and very attentive to all our questions during our stay. There are a few groceries stores close by, with at least one being open 24 hours. We loved our visit so much that we booked another stay as soon as we got home. Can’t wait to go back next year!

Our week at the house was fantastic! It had everything we needed and more. We traveled with another family and the house was very spacious and perfect for everyone to play together or have space to themselves. Communication with the owner was challenging, but thankfully we didn’t need anything once we finally got checked in and had the access code. The neighborhood was close to the beach and neighbors were friendly. We’d happily stay here again!

Property was nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the beach and only a quick 5 minute drive away. We very much enjoyed the house as we could choose to go to the beach or stay and enjoy the pool and hot tub. The house is pretty centrally located to all things Outer Banks. Perfect Location for a family getaway.
