Absolutely exceptional - wonderful

Just exceptional on all levels, location, staff, food, pool, gardens, owner Chris was super lovely. Can’t fault it at any point !

Small thing but probably a few sun loungers for the pool area but no big deal

Wonderful home away from home !

Everything was simply perfect ! The people were very very kind, the house is beautiful, wonderful energy there, the garden, the pool, the lounge. Food from breakfast to dinner was delicious. William was especially lovely, such a kind soul ! And Christian the owner was very thoughtful. We would go back tomorrow and stay longer. We enjoyed the calm and the fact that the house is hidden away. But also well located !

So much nicer than staying in a name brand hotel.

Beautiful place tucked away in magical gardens. The staff were super helpful and even packed us a nice lunch for the day we did an early morning safari.

No complaints whatsoever.

Beautiful and cosy hotel with homestay feeling!

The house feels like a home and very cosy. Chris, the lovely owner, and his wonderful team made us feel very comfortable. Lovely terrace and garden!

Nice for a holiday but needs better supervision

Beautiful planter bungalow look from the front, great for pictures. Food was tasty and staff great. Nice and quiet in the morning and felt relaxed.

Far away from main city, no TV in the room, toilet commode was stained and had to get it cleaned. Light shade missing in the toilet. No roomed bottled water. No toilet amenities. Only 2 tables to dine down stairs. Had to eat upstairs in the corridor whilst guests walked passed. Lots of mosquitoes. Limited menu that remained the same for lunch and dinner. Breakfast menu confusing. Kitchen walls dirty. No TV in the room.

we loved our stay at Karen Gables and felt very much taken care of. the house and garden are amazing and one can easily feel like being at home. we definitely want to come back some day!

Could have been fantastic but falls short with basic cervices and comfort.

The house is charming and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS.

My bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. There was almost no place put clothing in my room. No drawers and a very tiny closet with one hanger. Woke up to no water one morning until noon. I sat at breakfast and head several guests come downstair to report no water and inquire about status only to have staff react as if they had never hard about this problem before.

Lovely surprise, would have prefered a different room

Beautiful grounds, warm intimate atmosphere, lovely attentive staff.

Room number two’s bathroom at entrance to room is part of open space. I would prefer more privacy. The room is above the kitchen and therefore noisy early morning.

Would recommend over a hotel to get a more memorable experience.

The location of this property is super and the house itself was exactly what we were hoping for to get a more personal and authentic experience. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Was slightly disappointed with our room, which was located to the side of the property with no view and therefore very dark.

A beautiful, cosy haven close to nature

Beautiful serene setting with amazing, cosy places to relax. It felt incredibly cosy and comfortable. Kind, welcoming and accommodating staff. Amazing breakfast and generally great food.

Hardly anything! My room didn’t have aircon. Would be nice to have black out curtains. Very minor points.

Absolutely beautiful property in a quiet, verdant Nairobi suburb.

Karen Gables exceeded our high expectations! The hotel and the grounds were absolutely lovely. The breakfast was delicious, as were the dinners we had there. The staff were just exceptional and we were truly impressed by their warmth and professionalism.

Beyond my expectations.

The Karen Gables is a wonderful place to stay. The owner Chris and his staff and are all very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. The garden is beautiful and the food (breakfast and once dinner) is very nice too.
