Great spot in Bang Bao

Perfect little rooms and a great restaurant and hanging out area. Lots of cats and a nice dog that hang around, and the staff are really helpful. Also fantastic spots to watch the sunset!

Bang Bao is quite far from the port and depending on when you come it can be really expensive to get here! Otherwise we really liked being in Bang Bao.

Very good

I loved the view from my room and the restaurant.

The first night it seemed like my room wasn't clean or prepared properly, the bathroom was dirty, the shelves, even the bed seemed dodge. but after bringing it to their attention, it was much better.

Highs and lows

This is a hard one I feel torn but want to be honest for people reading reviews but not negative... I stayed with my two children 20 & 13 up in the high bungalows so this review is based on that.. I feel it would be a super couples romantic get away.... You are literally at the very bottom of the island it is very quiet and remote...the views are spectacular.. they give you free snorkeling equipment and kayaks, unfortunately we got hit with bad weather so couldn't use them. Bad points the beds were rock hard I found it very hard to sleep and we were there 3 nights. The food isn't great lots to choose but lacks good taste, I've had so much delicious food on this island so it really fell below and it's not exactly cheap cheap in comparison. I think there is a great set up there but just lacked warmth. We were eaten alive in the rooms I had spray and burned incense but I think you need a plug in. Showers weren't great shower heads just need cleaning. We were told on check in rooms won't be cleaned while your here. Ok I don't expect maid service beds don't need to be changed daily but there are lots of insects and ants and the monkeys trying to get food so I think sweeping them out and changing the bins would be a basic service to benefit everyone. It's kind of trying to be a hippy eco place but recycling wasn't offered. You really need to rent a bike because you are far away from things it's 250 there but most places are 200 what I did was get out of the taxi and get a scooter and sent my kids on in the taxi with the bags. That way you could go back with someone and get another if you wanted. The bikes rental from the accommodation are like little Vespas, I got a Honda click it has better power for the hills and bigger space for storage under the seat handy so you can go and get stuff to bring back.

Exceptional

Stayed in the small cottage on the hilltop. The view was amazing and the whole place excellent value for money. Enjoyed staying at the bar/restaurant for food and drinks, the happy hour was perfect. Really enjoyed the 3 nights there.

Probably the nicest and most professional staff I've seen in any of my trip. The location was on point, the food was great and the rooms were just as rooms in those kind of places should be.

Great location and amazing staff.

Excellent place with very understanding and welcoming staff. They accomodated our needs very well and allowed us to change rooms. Will absolutely stay there again next time. We took the Mongolian tents and it was amazing.

Superb

The location, loved the atmosphere at the restaurant/bar..nice firm beds. The cats and dogs..nothing is too much trouble for staff. Free kayak use and snorkell stuff to use. Happy hour 4 till 6. If you want the room cleaned , just ask.

Superb

We were looking for a remote, cozy atmosphere at the seaside, so the location was great. The restaurant food was good. The stuff is really nice and helpful. You can enjoy lots of activities - kayaking, snorkeling etc. All in all, a great stay for a couple.

The front desk is open until 21:00. After that, you're on your own with your problems.

Service, views and location were awesome, in quiet part of the island, next to sea and jungle. Food and drinks were great, too. Also free kayaks and snorkling gear for quests to go snorkling right from the terrace bar or kayaking to the beach other side, in beautiful Bang Bao bay.

Cliff Cottage is really the place to stay at!

Cliff Cottage is the perfect place to stay at Koh Chang. It offers so much - you can do diving lessons, you can rent a kayak for free and explore the surroundings, you can snorkel or just chill by the sea or pool.

The only thing I would point out is that we booked a room for 3 people via Booking, paid in advance, but when we arrived to the property we had to pay THB250/night extra for the 3rd person.

Great location with access to 2 beaches Super nice, relaxed and helpful staff Water refill option, which helps to decrease trash Tasty food and drinks

Too less sockets in the room Bathroom does not get dry very well because it has no window

everything considered good to spend 1 or 2 nights just to relax, however if you want to explore island bit more its too

Helpful staff. kayak and snorkeling equipment free to use. they helped us renting a scooter. cozy rooms. beautiful view from room and restaurant. very nice to just relax. very quiet and picturesque.

bit pricey restaurant but it’s quite normal in remote accommodation. the quiet and remote location comes at a price. closest restaurant at pier about 20 min walk. great sea food but much more expensive in comparison to night markets. roads on island are very hilly so be careful when driving scooter especially in rain. each time to get to the cliff cottage you have to go through all hairpins.

Superb

Conveniently located premises with very nice and friendly staff. Very good and well served food, both Thai and Western. The breakfast Musli with yoghurt and fresh fruits was the best I've ever had in Thailand ! Special thanks to the management who really seem to care about their guests requests & wellbeing.

Exceptional

The staff, especially Nueng, have been very friendly and helpful. The service was great at all times. To name some examples: Nueng helped us renting a Scooter, getting our Phone back after losing it somewhere on the island and getting a good price for the taxi. The restaurant is excellent and has an amazing atmosphere. We just loved to spend time there. Snorkeling in front of the restaurant was quite an adventure because of the many fish and corals we have seen. The snorkeling gear was free as well as the kayaks. We highly recommend this place!

Quiet and secluded with amazing views

We absolutely loved our stay here, if you want a peaceful secluded location by the sea then this is for you. The views in all directions were amazing. There was so much equipment to use any time for free, like kayaking and snorkeling. We went snorkeling every day as there was so much to see in the water directly in front of the bar area. The bar was a great chill out area with loads of different comfy seating, bean bags, hammocks etc with reasonably priced drinks. The rooms were basic but good. We would recommend to stay in the bungalows as the view was beautiful. The bed was comfy, good shower and good sized fridge.

We loved our stay but the atmosphere was a little quiet and not very social if that's what you are after. Bangbao is walkable if you want shops but for bars its best to take a taxi. However we would recommend to go to the restaurant next door as the food was top, the owner was super friendly and the atmosphere was a bit more lively. The air con was either off or on, so overnight we were either freezing or boiling and there a monkeys in the day who are after your food, so it's not possible to sit out on the balcony.

Its location - the beauty and the serenity in it! Their pool is a bonus

Just for improvement: It would be way better if the quality of the pillows were the same… 1 was fine and the other was really hard.

Little heaven on the brink of Koh Chang

This place is absolutely stunning. The bar has a direct view on the sea, you can taste cocktails while relaxing in the swimming pool. They have many cute and playful kittens and cats, and many monkeys hanging out not far. The bar/restaurant offers great cocktails and tasty Thai dishes, I had one of my favorites green curries there. One could even snorkel for free. The crew is extremely helpful and available. My bungalow was clean and had a direct access to the beach

It's pretty far from all the facilities on the island. At least half an hour from the center of the island.

Beautiful location, great staff, a glorious retreat!

the cabin I stayed in was basic, clean, quiet, and overlooked the sea. The main selling point however is the stunning chill out area/deck/“lobby”/restaurant. It’s extremely comfortable and you can sit there listening to the sea for hours. The staff are a credit to this place. The girl behind the counter is always smiling and very friendly/funny, the guy working alongside her was also fantastic, attentive, and friendly. Both are extremely helpful for arranging motorbike rental, taxis, etc along with making great cocktails.

it’s good to remember the property is surrounded by trees/jungle so nature may find its way into your room. i had a brief ant problem on night 1. I swept the ants out, and sprayed insect repellent around the corner of the door where they were getting in and I didn’t see them again. Nothing worth docking a point for.
