The Old Clare by Ode Hotels

The room was very well setup and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and the lovely bath was much appreciated. The shopping center next door which includes a Metro Woolworths supermarket was very convenient.

The hotel is close to other hotels/venues and also to restaurants. I was on the side of the hotel that overlooks the restaurant strip and next door hotel. On the first night (Thursday) the noise of music from somewhere nearby dominated my evening, including stopping me going to sleep. As people left the restaurants there was also often raucous laughter which was quite loud. It stopped about 11:30 pm and I was able to sleep, but I had to be up at 4am so it made Friday a tough day. On second and third night (Friday and Saturday) I felt like it was a little quieter overall - but that could have been me getting used to it or the fact that I didn't have to be up early in the morning. The location has real pros and cons. Unfortunately I picked the wrong weekend to stay in Sydney as the Bledisloe and races were on and I paid a high price for the room - which made me feel less happy with the noise.

The location was perfect, the bed was also super comfy.

Nothing! Parking is expensive, but that’s Sydney!

What a vibe! Love the decor, beds are comfy, rooms are roomy, shower water pressure excellent.. love it!

Would love to have harder pillows (one room has them, our room didn't)!

While the hotel presents itself as a five-star establishment, the overall experience fell short of the standards typically associated with this rating. The amenities were rather limited and lacked the thoughtful touches and attention to detail one would expect from a luxury property. The toiletries provided were equally underwhelming, offering next to nothing. For a hotel positioned within the five-star category, there is a reasonable expectation of some sort of amenities and an elevated guest experience. Unfortunately, these aspects did not reflect the level of luxury advertised, leaving considerable room for improvement
