Boutiquehotel Dreesen - Villa Godesberg

The room was light. It was nice satellite area - safe and walkable. There was a bakery and a couple of good restaurants nearby. It was close a delightful riverside bar and near to the castle and single cog railway that are well worth a visit. Free parking right outside.

It wasn't clear how far out of Bonn it was - it's listed as Bonn but takes 20 minutes on the train to get there. However, Bad Godesburg turned out to be delightful so it was a blessing as we preferred it to Bonn.

Lovely accommodation.

No one on reception after 5pm which wasn’t informed about until the day of our arrival so had issues with sorting our bikes.

I like the location.

I didn’t like that there was no air-conditioning in the bedroom, the room was on the top floor an it was too hot. A very small fan was in the room, but it was not enough. If staying here, you should ask for a lower floor. In addition, according to the receptionist the cleaning is done every two days. For €130 per night one expects to have the room cleaned every day. As we requested, they did it at the end. Another thing to consider is that no wifi was available in the room during our stay, which for me was one of the services I must have had. I reported it, and the receptionist showed an open area where they have signal. I ended having a very important interview in an open area of the hotel, which was not ideal at all. The price was definately too high for the services received.

Great location in the Villa district.

Service was unimpressive. There is no lift and no one offered to help carry our heavy bags up steep stairs to the second floor….if my partner had been on her own she would have struggled to reach the room. The receptionist seemed uninterested and there was no warmth in the welcome. Maybe this coloured our impression of the hotel. Calling an establishment “boutique” suggests it’s something special - whereas the hotel felt dated and average. The room had no fan or air conditioning. Thank goodness it was only 22 degrees outside - I’d avoid staying here in the summer. Because the room was quite hot I opened the bathroom window to find the view obscured by huge cobwebs. Clearly the cleaning isn’t anything special either.
