Chatham benefits from its position on the Atlantic Ocean, and a prime reason for visiting is access to stunning beaches and beautiful views.
- Lighthouse Beach: There are numerous beaches, but the largest is Lighthouse Beach, overlooked by Chatham Light.
- Chatham Fish Pier: The pier is an excellent spot for watching the fishing vessels unloading their catches, or for spotting playful seals.
- Old Village: Chatham earned the 2007 Distinctive Destinations Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Thanks mainly to its Old Village Historic District, which dates back to 1730. The area has over 300 historic properties (approximately 85 percent of the structures).
