Location was superb for our needs. I liked that the hotel was small and intimate - not a big brand name space.
I accidentally booked a "pet room" but wasn't traveling with pets and couldn't get it reversed.

Granville Island is a great place to be in Vancouver. The public market is a wonderful destination for a morning walk. The hotel has a nice patio restaurant overlooking the harbor and the staff is always helpful. The water taxi runs regularly if you need to go into the city.
Our room was small and hadn't been updated recently, but it was clean and the shower had a spray wand.

We like that the hotel is pet friendly. we were given the 2nd floor when we checked in. we initially accepted and then we went back to ask and Pavel said he could arrange for that. Very willing to accomodate for a ground level - so that we could leave the hotel easier as our dog doesn't like to be too close to people and it can get quite closed in for her that when she is in narrow hallways and around the elevator.
For that, it was a great start to our stay.
parking has gotten even more limited due to the excavation/construction in the back. one night we had to park in the passenger loading zone. we let the front desk know and he came out to check and look and assured us that it was acceptable to do so.

Great location. Can walk to downtown along water pathway. Conveniently located right in the middle of the action at Granville Island.
Paid extra for a balcony. It was very small, unclean, and looked out on a construction site - basically unusable. For the cost, we expected a much nicer room. It was a bit dated. Nothing inside was better than your average hotel room. Parking was expensive - it was listed as much less in a review on Booking.com but after checking in, we realized the comment was old.
