This bedroom and the master share a full bathroom. To top it all off, the 3rd floor bedroom rewards you with a treetop view of Warren Square and the side yard. The room’s vaulted ceiling surrounds a lovely Parisian-style queen-size iron sleigh bed, with its cozy mattress, lightweight down-alternative comforter and sateen sheets. Many visitors have called it their favorite room in the house. (Note: the stairs to the 3rd floor are narrow and twist tightly, as you'll find in so many houses of this era. Even though they are carpeted, please use them only if you're sure-footed, use the handrails, and watch your step going up and down.) Pack with confidence! The Live Oaks House has a large laundry room with an extra-capacity Whirlpool washer and dryer, featuring steam technology. There's an ironing board and iron (which you might not need to use!). Pack light and wash as needed. Beach towels are available should you wish to take the short drive to Tybee Island beach. Of course, you can enjoy the outdoors without leaving Live Oaks House. Step from the kitchen to the back deck, where Adirondack chairs invite you to relax over morning coffee or cocktails at 5. Down the stairs, your private brick courtyard is lush with foliage. Three cafe tables with chairs create a charming and intimate environment for dining or socializing with friends. Savannah is a walking town. Technically, you could skip the rental car completely if you will not be driving outside downtown. A Chatham Area Transit (CAT) 100 Airport Express bus can inexpensively shuttle you from the Airport to the downtown transportation hub, where you can transfer to an 11 bus that stops just a few short blocks away from Live Oaks House. The CAT bus can take you to many locations throughout the city, including Forsyth Park, one of Savannah's premier weekend gathering places. The owners secured an off-street parking space in the Lincoln Street Garage, for our guests. If you have more than one car, the City of Savannah offers Visitor's parking passes, purchased from the City of Savannah Parking Office, 100 E. Bryan St., just two blocks from the house. Call 912-651-6470 for an appointment with the parking office. You can park your car and walk (or ride the free DOT bus) all over historic downtown and the Landmark and Victorian Districts, but still have your car at the ready for the short drive to the beaches of Tybee Island or a visit to historic Bonaventure cemetery, a renowned setting from John Berendt's non-fiction novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. We hope you'll join us for a three-night minimum stay, or a full week -- or more -- to maximize your Savannah experience. With its incredible architecture, renowned restaurant scene, ideal people-watching opportunities and entertaining events throughout the year, Savannah and the Live Oaks House will charm you with lasting memories that will have you planning the itinerary for your next visit, even as you make your way home. We absolutely loved our stay in Savannah! The house was very tidy, easy to find, close to everything we needed to do. There were a few quirky things, but this is to be expected in old homes. The host is amazing and responded quickly when any questions were asked by our group.

Had a great time staying at Live Oaks. The house was perfect 6 college friends celebrating our 60th birthday year! We felt very safe walking at any time and it is super close to everything you need to get to. House is beautiful! The beds were all super comfy. The only thing I would say is if you stay in the lower level master suite and sleep in the king bed, you may want earplugs as it is right against the sidewalk and street and you can hear anyone coming by anytime of the night. Also, if you are planning on having any kind of snacks. Make sure you pick it up before you get to the area as there are no convenience stores or grocery stores that you could walk to. We had a difficult time finding milk for coffee, and cheese and crackers to have with wine, which we had to opt for going out and getting a charcuterie board at a rooftop bar. We did have a blast at many of Savannahs, rooftop restaurants and bars, so check them out if you go. I would highly recommend live oaks to any group of friends going to Savannah.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Perfect for a group of 7-8 people. There are 4 stories and lots of stairs so keep that in mind with young children or people with mobility issues. Other than that, the house is in a great location and right next to the parking garage. We would definitely stay there again.

This very old house is beautiful inside but it has lots of stairs which we managed well but wouldn’t work if you can’t climb stairs. It is well located for the river & also the historic district. We really enjoyed our time there & would go back again.

We were friends from college who get together every year. We were impressed with the decor in this home and all the space, indoors and outdoors. The kitchen had everything we needed and even had spices and other items probably left from previous visitors. The sheets were very soft and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms had plenty of room with toiletries and notes to call the manager if we needed more towels, which we didn’t. The location was perfect. We could easily walk to the river shops and restaurants as well as to Broughton street shopping. We ate at the Olde Pink House and B Matthews, which were both only a couple of blocks away.
