Welcome to Savannah Rest
About this house rental
Located in Savannah, this lovely house for $374 per night is a great choice for your next trip. I’m recently widowed after 33 years of marriage. We started this short term rental journey together but now it’s just me. We loved living in Savannah and I will continue calling it home. I also love sharing this romantic city with everyone. I hope we have the opportunity to meet and enjoy each other’s company, but if not, may you’re memorable moments together be cherished forever as I cherish all 33 years of mine, and more to come. From time to time, I’ll be staying in the bedroom off the This home is a Large 3 bedroom house with large backyard located about 15 to 20 minutes from the historic district and 45 minutes from Tybee Island. This home is great for families that want to stay together while visiting Savannah. Also great for business trips. Three TVs are provided for your entertainment, as well as WIFI and sort of games .Backyard parties, events, Family reunions and more are welcomed but please contact me before scheduling any events at the house. All linens and towels are provided depending on the number of guests, but all beds will be made with two sets of towels and if you need more just let me know. All beds are queen size except the back bedroom which is a full size. The dining room has an extra also has a full size futon as well for extra guests. the house can sleep 8 comfortably but the extra futon allows for 2 additional guests. The home is a ranch style, historic Savannah grey brick home with plenty of parking located near a small golf Club and lots of shopping and near by dinning options. Very quite neighborhood and tree covered backyard. You will have access to all rooms except one which is used for storage. There is a “Ring” doorbell video on the outside, front door for security purposes and also for your convenience as I can answer the door from my phone in case you get locked out. The kitchen doesn’t have a traditional stove. But has a 6 burner gas grill, two burner indoor hot plate, large microwave oven, New wave oven and a counter top traditional oven. You’re welcome to use the laundry room but you’ll need to supply your own detergent and dryer sheets. Our house rules are located in the living to refer to at your convenience. I enjoy getting to know my guests, but if you wish not to be bothered that’s fine to. I don’t charge a pet fee but I do ask that you clean up after your pet. Loud parties are not allowed, specially late into the evening. I live on the property part of the year but I usually schedule my stays when there isn’t a booking but sometimes I may lay my head in the bedroom with the lock on it.

We really enjoyed ourselves, was able to spend time together.

Loved the amount of bedrooms. Was kind of Leary about the camper in the yard(?) Also yard clutter in the back yard. Overall was good - sufficient for our needs.

House was great and had plenty of space but did have the live in feel with lots of books, games, and knickknacks. The property manager was amazing and very helpful. Lost power one evening and he came right out and had it fixed. He also gave us a discount because the cleaning lady was running behind and delayed our check in. It was an older house but overall enjoyed our stay.

We decided to go to the beach for the day, but didn’t want to have to drive both ways the same day, so we rented this for the night.
It’s in a sketchy neighborhood. Do not be deceived by the pictures of historical homes in the listing - they are no where near this home.
The home has small bedrooms with a very small living room. The decor is outdated and there was rotted trim around a shower.
I can’t recommend this place in good conscience.

We stayed for a short visit for a shoutgun tournament. The house was nice and exactly what we needed it for. It was close to stores and restaurants which was also nice. The owner was very nice and easy to contact. I would stay again.

LOCATION
Safe neighborhood. Close to grocery stores any about a 20-25 mins drive to DT Savannah
HOUSE
Good sized bedrooms, large dining table, large fenced backyard. Great for pets! Record player was an unexpected bonus! Beds are very high off the ground, not an issue for our groups for for older folks it would be a challenge.
DOWNSIDE
felt like the house had sat empty and unattended for months. Dishes in the cabinet and silverware were dirty and dusty. Couldn’t not find any cleaning products or broom, and there were no trash bags. Furniture was obviously old and EXTREMELY uncomfortable.
Much cheaper than staying closer to town but felt like a dirty college apartment. Would not stay again.

Home was just what we needed, simple. The only negative is it doesn't have a stove.

I take some responsibility for assuming this property would meet and exceed expectations based on past reviews. It met all the criteria for our stay, which included, 4 bedrooms with at least one downstairs for my mother, pet friendly, and located in the vicinity of a particular wedding venue which was attended by 2 of our family members. This in mind, options were in short supply. Positive aspects were the property is very pet friendly, with a nice large fenced yard and older furniture in the living spaces which could not be damaged, as it was all very worn and scratched from time and other animals. There were indeed 4 bedrooms and we slept well, and all were relatively comfortable. The kitchen was equipped for cooking and included plenty of seasonings, ice maker, and refrigerator space. We also appreciated the central location to the wedding venue, and downtown Savannah. The locks and thermostat worked well.
Cleanliness, and decor were most lacking although the bedrooms were a bit happier and put together. I would not recommend this home to anyone traveling with physical needs. The furniture as mentioned is quite dated, with tired cushions, and limited seating options. My mother did not join us in the end, which was a blessing as she is recovering from knee surgery and wouldn't have had a footstool to elevate her leg, and definitely would not have been able to get up into the beds which were all quite high off the ground. I believe I saw a futon mattress on top of one of the mattresses. I'm assuming the host was adding newer padding to older mattresses. While we appreciated the nice supply of games, cards, and books in the living room, it was unfortunately offered up on a very cluttered and dusty table, and the books and game boxes were also quite dusty. The kitchen also does not have a conventional oven and stove top although a portable double cook top is available, and a counter top convection oven.
If you need a roof over your heads and you have dogs, and can overlook a good amount of the owner and/or previous renters' personal items in cabinets and drawers and closets, this is not a terrible option.
In the end, the photos oversold, but the home underdelivered.

The washer would not spin. The management left us only one towel and one wash cloth. So we had to go purchase towels and wash cloths. The house does not have a stove. We cooked breakfast on a two burner hot plate. I am short so the hot plate was on top of the microwave too high for me. The house could use some nicer furniture in the living room. The dining room chairs stained and dirty. Other wise great location.

Air conditioning did not work well in all the rooms. The furniture looked and felt like it was from a yard sale. There were no screens in the windows, so you could not crack a window. There was zero effort in making this place feel like home while you were away. We traveled 1,000 miles to visit and we checked into a hotel after one night. $360 per night is a COMPLETE RIPOFF. The yard was a mess as well. This should not be listed on VRBO. We want our money back, but haven't heard back from VRBO.

We stayed for 4 days and while some of the interior is a little dated, everything was functional and accurately described in the listing.
The house has several bedrooms and a good size private and fenced yard in case you have dogs.
The neighborhood is perfect for talking nice walks.
Overall, we would not hesitate to come back here and can recommend this place.
