Quiet and cosy, central location: your 'Slow Time' in Florence. air con
About this condo rental
Nestled in Florence, this charming condo for $257 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Quiet and confortable apartment completely renovated in 2010, on the first floor of a XVI century palace. As usual in the old buildings, there is no lift but the stairs are confortable. Windows open in an interior, so no traffic noise at all. Air conditioning is available (first of june to 15 september)! The apartment is composed of a kitchen with a little table, a bathroom with shower, a large living room with a double sofa bed and a dining area and a large loft with king size bed, and an hammock for your meditative “siestas” :-) . Kitchen is fully equiped! I love cooking, and I think that you can experience Florence also trying to cook some typical recipe! Children welcome: it is available a little bed for children up to 3 years with cushion/linens supplied. Just ask for it! It is available a internet WIFI fast connection. About the District: Sant'Ambrogio is definitely one of the most lively neighborhoods in the city. From this district it's only a ten-minute walk to all the major monuments and museums of the city. And yet, due to its location just outside of the most heavily-touristed areas - it hasn't been overrun by mass tourism. Along the streets of Sant'Ambrogio it's still possible to meet many 'real Florentines' - walking, shopping or simply chatting on the stairs of a church, on a park bench, in a market, or amidst the narrow streets. The Bar, just in front of the main door, is an historic well-known meeting for the district residents. Almost all of the area's streets are closed to traffic and this makes the district even more attractive for both tourists and residents. Sant'Ambrogio is especially well-known among Florentines for its indoor and outdoor daily markets. Every morning in Piazza Ghiberti the 'Sant'Ambrogio' market is held, a great alternative to local supermarkets (both in terms of quality and prices), where you can find typical cheeses and meats, fresh fruits and vegetables as well as articles of clothing, whilst immersed in the very characteristic atmosphere of an authentic Italian market. In Piazza Annigoni have a look to the flea market: all kinds of unusual antiques and collectibles at budget prices. And in this same square, on the last Sunday of every month, there's a high-quality (with prices to match!) 'Antique Market' that is very interesting to visit, even if only to browse. NIGHTLIFE - Sant'Ambrogio is famous among Florentines for the quality of its restaurants, pizzerias, and for the presence of very cool and trendy bars like Caffé Sant'Ambrogio and Le Murate (Set in the open space of a former women's prison). Absolutely to visit. A special mention must also be made for the local cafés: Café Cibreo and Ditta Artigianale have been ranked amongst the Top Ten Italian Cafés thanks to their excellent coffee.

We loved it here! The location was amazing, the property clean and more spacious than expected. The steps to the second floor loft area aren’t as treacherous looking as they are in the pictures and the loft itself was bigger than expected (full height and plenty of room for a seating area and everything). My husband was psyched to listen to some of the records, and the selection was very cool and included some nice Italian music. The host has excellent taste!
FYI: A few minutes away is the BEST record store in the city also (Rock Bottom Records).

Our hostess, Francesca, was extremely gracious and helpful. She checked us in very efficiently and provided great tips for our Firenze visit.
The apartment is comfortable and well appointed, and is very convenient to a great many of the popular attractions, as well as a number of excellent local dining options.
As depicted in the advert photo, the bedroom is a loft and not suitable for someone with mobility issues.

This property was lovely! Great location, fully equipped, very clean, a beautiful loft area for sleeping! Francesca greeted us at the apartment, was very helpful, great tips on restaurants and the area. She booked a cab for us on our last day and came to meet us to make sure it arrived. One of our best experiences with VRBO. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Florence and highly reccomend this property!

Very clean little apartment with adequate storage and appliances. Centrally located and close to good restaurants. Our favorite was Ristorante San Ambrogio, only 3-4 blocks from the apartment. Excellent food, good wine list and Leo was an amazing server. I caught a cold while there and the pharmacist (one block away) was very kind and helpful. Everyone in the neighborhood is friendly. Folks have said the AC is loud, but that must only be for the neighbors living outside of the apartment w/o AC, because it wasn't loud for my husband and I as tenants. Francesca was there when we arrived to let us in and helpful with getting cabs ordered for the airport. She also helped me when the drain was stopped up in the shower. Overall, a nice stay in lovely Florence.

From the moment we arrived at francesca’s lovely apartment we felt at home. Francesca was warm and welcoming and we liked her immediately. She lives across the hall in another apartment so is available should you have any questions or problems and she responds immediately thru texting. We needed her help one day to call a taxi for us. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished and spacious. I loved the hammock in the loft/sleeping area, and it became my reading spot each day after hours of exploring the city.
The location is great. You can walk everywhere from the apartment.
I highly recommend staying here when you are in Florence.

Francesca is an amazing host. She answered my numerous emails before we got to Florence and we communicated with Whatsapp as well. She made us dinner reservations at a local restaurant and called taxis for us numerous times. The apartment is much more spacious than the photos make it seem. The loft area is very nice. We used the washing machine and the drying rack came in very handy. The shower was a nice size compared to many of the showers we experienced in Italy. Francesca has the bathroom nicely stocked with toiletries as well. There were three of us and we enjoyed our stay very much.

If you have mobility issues the stairs to the bedroom are quite steep.

Great location. Fabulous bed and shower Location is perfect for walking anywhere in Florence.
Francesca and her mom were so gracious and
Professional. The apartment is inviting and well designed. The staircase to the bedroom is hard to manage at night and I prefer a one level unit. All in all it was great.

What a cool apartment! Clean and spacious. Tastefully decorated. Very cozy. Spiral staircase takes you from the living room to the loft, where a bed and hammock are located. Francesca was a fantastic host. She lives across the hall in case there are any issues. Safe and quiet location. Just a five minute walk to the Duomo. Highly recommend!

Very clean and comfortable - convenient location
We enjoyed our stay at Francesca's vacation home. The location is very convenient to all the sites of Florence.
Francesca was a fantastic hostess, she helped us call a cab for our departure and even helped keep the driver from leaving until we were able to get downstairs...Thanks Francesca!

Great place, great location!
I have no problem recommending this lovely little apartment. I booked it for my sister and I for 9 days. There is a very comfortable queen sized bed in the loft space as well as a chair which converts to a single, and the sofa downstairs transforms into a bed that can sleep another two. My sister took the upstairs bed and I chose to sleep on the couch. From the photos I imagined the space to be much smaller, and though small it is actually very spacious. Everything was spic and span and there was everything we needed including iron, washing machine and hairdryer. The location is great. It's on a residential street but there is a little mini-mart right downstairs which is open til midnight so we were able to get staples there as we needed them. From the apartment it is less than a fifteen minute walk to the heart of the center (Duomo and Piazza Repubblica) and 10 minutes to Santa Croce. It would be most comfortable for a couple who share the bed but if you are an easy going group it has enough room to house an extra two people. Francesca was great. We took a cab from the train station (13 euro) and she was right there to meet us (she lives in the apartment next door). When we left we easily walked to the train station with our rolling carry on bags and it took about 20/25 minutes of strolling/window shopping.

Artistic Comfort, Continental Charm and Complete Convenience
On our first-ever trip to Italy, and to the magnificence that is Florence, we could not have found a more charming place to stay or a more amiable host. Francesca was there to greet us when we arrived, explained everything we needed to know in detail, and made us feel quite welcome to ask for whatever assistance we might need. The location is superb, within walking distance of all the artistry and architecture that make Firenze such a spectacular place. An excellent supermarket was a short distance away, and we discovered intriguing shops and restaurants as we navigated the neighborhood. The apartment was as quiet and cozy as described and had everything one would need to feel at home - travel guides, maps, good internet, a well-equipped kitchen, and bedding that was super-comfortable. We loved coming home to this lovely neighborhood after a day of sightseeing. Our only regret? That we did not stay longer! Booked with help from our travel agent, whose email is tied to this review, all opinions are our own. And we are happy to be able to say in all honesty that this stay was a real gem. We felt so lucky to have found it and would love to stay again!
