My husband and I have stayed in a LOT of vacation rentals, and I can easily say that Casa Altura was the best place we've ever stayed in.
The property itself was just awesome. The interior offered a fully-stocked kitchen, books, games, a record player, tv with all the streaming services... anything you could need to decompress and embrace the environment around you. There were plant-based bath products (not sure if this was intentional but I appreciated it!) The beds are comfy and there are plenty of blankets for getting snuggly. The washer and dryer were clutch for us as we were in the middle of a multi-stop trip.
The exterior- a pool and a spa- just perfect. And you can't beat the backdrop, the surrounding landscape is unreal! We saw so many different types of birds, jack rabbits, lots of little critters. The property is situated in a way that it feels mostly above the surrounding area, which added to the private feeling.
The communication prior to, during, and even after our stay was excellent. Eddie was available for anything we needed!
We can't wait to come back- this place is truly one of a kind!

Clean home, beautiful views, great pool and hot tub. Sun comes up over the Joshua Tree rocks outside the large windows in nearly every room. It was hard not to just stand on the expansive deck and study the nearby rock formations and the Morongo Valley in the distance for hours. Luckily the hikes in and around Joshua Tree National Park kept us on task…most of the time! ;)
Located on a very quiet street just a couple of blocks from the main road entering the Park, we found its proximity to all things we wanted to do extremely perfect.
Kitchen was easy to cook in, with lots of counter space, pots and pans, spices, etc.
Living room was cozy and comfortable. TV and sound system was good and appropriately sized for the space. Our favorite area to hang out, though, was the pool and hot tub. Both are excellent and very well maintained.
Our host was easy and pleasant to communicate with via text. He responded quickly to questions and had our arrival and departure instructions clearly stated so we knew exactly what to do.
The two bathrooms are small and on the worn out side, but they were very clean and functional.
We highly recommend this property if you’re looking to visit Joshua Tree and the surrounding area. We definitely plan to stay here again on our next visit.

We enjoyed our stay very much!
Eddie was extremely responsive and attentive. Well thought out to details in the house from gaining access into house, to the kitchen utensils/appliances. We enjoyed the back yard which rolls straight into the desert providing privacy and the hot tub and pool added to relaxed quiet vibes we were looking for in the desert. We would stay here again!!

Our stay at Casa Altura was a highlight of our Joshua Tree National Park trip! The proximity to Joshua Tree National Park was perfect and the original reason we landed on this home. The home exceeded expectations with its breathtaking views, well-equipped amenities, and an attentive host who kept us organized and ensured we had everything we needed. The sound system was a hit with my husband (of course U2 was playing non-stop), and our son thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The full windows offered mesmerizing views, and the host's recommendations for restaurants and outings added to the experience. We only wish we could have stayed longer to explore even more. We definitely felt at home. If you are considering staying here, do it! You will not regret it.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Location, cleanliness, hot tub, views etc. Best stocked kitchen of any VRBO house. Would recommend this house to anyone visiting the area.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The owner, Eddie, was incredibly attentive and responsive. The house is beautiful and well amenitized. The pool and hot tub were both clean and easy to heat. The proximity is great — walking distance to town and abuts a hike to an area with petroglyphs.

After completing a hike of Ryan’s Mountain in Joshua Tree and dinner at the JT Saloon the heated spa was perfect for star gazing. Eddie pre heated the spa as requested. The Casa is a cool mix of retro meets the Jetson’s.want to

What a perfect location, with privacy and a fantastic view. We saw so much beautiful wildlife just by walking onto the back porch in the morning and looking out onto the natural landscape. The vibe of the house is so nice, and it’s clean and organized. The property owner was very welcoming and communicative. Highly recommend for anyone traveling with young kids as one room is filled with toys and there are a bunch of fun inflatables for the pool.

This property is amazing. It is so beautiful, better than represented in the listing and pictures. The pool and hot tub were perfect, the property was fenced to keep any wild animals out (a silly concern of mine). I wanted somewhere close to the park ✔️ a pool ✔️ great for stargazing ✔️✔️
Also, there are tons of amenities at the house (pool, kitchen, etc) so make sure you check it out before you head to the store and waste a bunch of money.

Stayed a couple of nights with my wife for our anniversary. Basically spent the entire time out at the pool and jacuzzi. Really private and very tranquil. The house itself is fantastic, very cozy and has everything you need for a great time.
The evenings were amazing, the city and mountains views were special. The lighting around the pool area is perfect for ambiance and dim enough to be really private. All in all an excellent get away for us. BRAVO.

My husband and I visited Casa Altura for our anniversary. The location was central to everything. The best part by far, is the view. The house has a ton of large windows that overlook the beautiful rock formations Joshua Tree is known for. The house was cozy, clean and peaceful. Stargazing while in the jacuzzi is perfection. Everything about our stay was positive. We will definitely be back!

Casa Altura is a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The home’s interior exudes joy and lightness as soon as you enter, and the connection to the landscape is established immediately via the huge picture windows. Excellent communication from the owner who also checked after our first day to make sure we had everything we needed. JT is full of activities both natural and cultural and we only scratched the surface on this our first trip to this area. We look forward to returning to JT and will definitely want to book Casa Altura again.

Staying at this vacation home was by far the best one I stayed in thus far. From start to finish, the communication was amazing. The host, Eddie, went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I had a wonderful time during our anniversary trip. He even surprised us with a bottle of wine for our special anniversary dinner. The only down side was having to leave.

This house is small, compact, but feels roomy because of the expansive views and the way the light travels through the house. Modern up-to-date technology is everywhere. The pools and hot tub made the place feel luxurious. It was easy to find and was close to restaurants and the national park.

This is our first visit to Joshua Tree and Casa Altura has set a very high bar for any future visits. The property has amazing views and provides easy access to JT National Park. The furnishings are excellent, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Eddie is a great host and provided immediate response to any questions and was very helpful in our planning process for the trip. The pool and hot tub are a big plus after a day hiking in the park. If we plan another trip to Joshua tree, Casa Altura will be our first choice for lodging.

Well maintained house. Kids enjoyed staying there with many books to read board games to play. This has become our to-stay place when we visit JNP. Lastly, Eddie was awesome communicating everything to enjoy our stay. Five star experience!!

All-Inclusive!! The owner contacted us early in the morning on check-in day to say go ahead and check in 4 hours early. This home had it all. All we needed was to buy was food and drink although there was already some there for us to do vacation shots! Eddie has more spices for cooking than we do at our own home. The view from the deck and pool patio was incredible. Great star watching as well.

Very cozy and peaceful area with an amazing view of sunrises. The location is awesome for visiting Joshua Tree National park and is very close to town making it easy to find food and anything else you would need. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing views from every room via massive windows. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. Nice big TV for evening entertainment. Overall amazing home. Would stay there again.
