Quiet Haven in lovely Sedona
About this house rental
Nestled in Sedona, this charming house for $186 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. This is an updated older 1,512 sq. ft. home (dating from the late 1980s) in a quiet, tree shaded neighborhood of west Sedona that is fed by underground spring water (only a small area of Sedona is on well water). There are tall leafy trees but don't expect a green yard; it is Sedona rustic. The house is close to parks, restaurants, hiking, biking (bike rentals nearby), golf, spas and health facilities, performing/arts and celebration and movie venues. There is also a nearby community park with a clubhouse, tennis courts, an oleympic sized swimming pool, outdoor stage, and an adjacent dog park. Area recreational activities such as hot air ballooning, kayaking and river sports, swimming and fishing are available as well as an outstanding wild animal park nearby. Activities also include art and tourist shopping. In addition there are four grocery stores, two drug stores and two hardware stores for basic needs within close proximity when you want to stay in, cook and enjoy the well equipped kitchen. "Uptown Sedona" is just a short five minute drive from the house with more arts and tourism shopping and many more restaurants. The home has a very large, but rustic fenced backyard with a BBQ grill and table and seating. For star gazing at night there is a propane raised fire pit (for safety no cooking allowed on the fire pit - not even toasting marshmallows) and reclining chairs. Leaf filtered, but not full, views of famous Thunder Mountain are available in the daytime. Old stories have it that Walt Disney vacationed in Sedona and one of his movies was inspired by Thunder Mountain. It's fun to have coffee in the morning or wine in the evening and watch the many birds, butterflies, squirrels and critters playing, or to walk the infinity labyrinth to think or meditate. The warm and comfortable home has large open rooms and is filled with original artwork and some antique furniture pieces. The kitchen appliances include a full size stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator and there is a laundry room with large washer and dryer available for guest convenience (MUST USE COLD WATER FOR WASH). Plenty of CDs, DVDs, books and board games are provided and the dining/recreational room offers cable television and a DVD player for the large screen TV. The recreational room also offers a computer alcove for computer needs with high speed internet. This room has a separate entrance to the back yard but is not to be used for parties or large gatherings. The electric fireplaces in the winter and ceiling fans in the summer add to the comfort of the home in addition to the whole house heating and cooling. The home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and each bedroom offers two single beds, pushed together to make a king sized bed in the master bedroom and the master bedroom opens to the front private deck and waterfall. The bathrooms have marble countertops and shower heads that can be adjusted for height. The fully equipped kitchen offers guests a perfect place for home cooked meals if going out for dinner to Sedona's many eclectic restaurants isn't desired. Please ask for list of kitchen appliances, utensils and cooking and dining ware. Outside guests can relax and visit in the private ivy covered front courtyard, Sheltered by large trees and vines its bubbling waterfall and pebble pond are very peaceful. At the back of the house, enjoy a shaded deck, rocking chairs, reclining chairs for star gazing and table with chairs and propane grill as you eat breakfast or dinner or to just sit and watch the birds and critters or stars in the back yard. There is some unevenness of the deck and between the upper and lower decks so please watch your footing on the back deck and also in the "Sedona rustic" back yard. The house sits in a small area of Sedona that is fed by an underground aquifer and it feeds the tall green trees of the area. There is uncovered parking in front of the house. For guest protection and in compliance with CDC and EPA recommendations, we are following stringent cleaning protocols with the Ecolab® peroxide disinfecting products which are recommended by the healthcare industry against the Novel Coronavirus SARS-C0-2 and other illnesses. Cleaning and safety are paramount at Quiet Haven and the home is cleaned with the Ecolab® products between each visit. Pre-measured Ecolab® low sudsing laundry detergent for high efficiency machines is used for the house towels and linens and is available for guest use (cold water only). In addition our cleaning company uses all all eco friendly, hypoallergenic, chemical free and sustainable products. The cleaning products are all harmless for people and pets but powerful for pests and airborne pathogens. Recycling is encouraged and recycling bins are provided. The house is safety certified and we ask guests to adhere to insurance mandated safety regulations. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the premises, inside or outside, and the two fireplaces are artificial (no log burning).. Sedona is very dry and, for safety there can be no open flames, i.e. candles, etc. anywhere on the property. Children are welcome with their families and pets (dogs only) are welcome with certain restrictions; they must be well house trained, adults over a year old with all vaccination and flea/tick meds up to date and under 30 lbs. in weight. There is a pet fee of $35 per pet per visit with a two dog limit. Larger dogs will be considered at $45. Pets are not allowed on the furniture without a pad underneath them. They cannot be left alone in the house at any time (even the most well trained dogs can suffer separation anxiety in unfamiliar surroundings and become destructive, mark "their territory" or bark which disturbs the neighbors). Owners must clean up after pets both inside and outside and waste must be disposed of properly. If extra cleaning is required because of pet soiling, the pet owner will be expected to pay for the cleaning. If owners cannot take their dogs with them, there are several "doggie daycares" in the area where they can be left for short periods or for the day. Dogs are the only pets allowed. An important note: Check in time is between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and my friend who lives adjacent to the property will meet you and show you the house and tell you about the operation of appliances/TV/heating and cooling, etc. If necessary, self check-in available with a lockbox but he is available to explain important things about the operations of systems within the house. The cables for the TV/DVR, and hoses for the washing machine are set correctly as is and Must Not Be Changed. If they are moved, it can result in damage to, or unsafe operation of the equipment. If a repair is required, the visitor will be charged for it. The house is on a special electricity conservation plan and the washer/dryer should not be used between the Sedona peak use times of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. For those unfamiliar with Sedona, it is located within the middle of Arizona's northern vacation country. It is approximately 45 minutes from Flagstaff, 2 hours from the Grand Canyon, 20 minutes from Old Town Cottonwood, an hour from the mountain community of Jerome and 1 1/2 hour from Phoenix. At 4,326 ft. in altitude, Sedona offers a temperate but seasonable year around climate and a topography that varies from high, arid desert to green forests along the Oak Creek that flows down the mountain from Flagstaff through Sedona's downtown and on to Cottonwood. This home is inviting and comfortable in all seasons and offers a wonderful base from which to enjoy all that Sedona and the surrounding area offer. Sedona has always been voted one of the most beautiful places in the United States to visit and people from all over the world come for recreation, spiritual renewal, art enjoyment or just sight seeing and relaxation. It is one of only eight International Dark Sky communities and the star gazing is wonderful. Come visit; you will enjoy your stay! Quiet Haven operates with a City of Sedona permit 012760 and with an Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax License number 21127636. Quiet Haven is in compliance with AZ Senate Bill 1168 and any known violation of this bill by guests will not be tolerated. Thank you for your cooperation.

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend in Sedona. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable.

This is the 1st time in about 25 years to visit Sedona. We started in Phoenix for 4 days for a wedding, took the quick 2 hours to Sedona to relax & enjoy the scenery. Then we took another 2 hour day trip to the Grand Canyon, and back to Sedona to relax again. This was the perfect location.

The property is located on a quiet street off one of the main drags in Sedona and provides easy access to the myriad trails the area has to offer. It’s a nice place to come back to for relaxing after a long day of hiking.

Thank you for sharing your lovely vacation rental with us. We enjoyed our visit to beautiful Sedona. The property was charming and had everything we needed. Laurenn was responsive to questions that I had. Thanks so much!

Well-maintained house. Great front patio with a small fish pond. Well, shaded. Great place for morning coffee. Location near to all amenities -- with Whole Foods nearby.
Comms with Laureen -- very good. Would stay here again without question. No concerns whatsoever.

Great location. Quiet older neighborhood that is close to one of the main streets. Close to various restaurants, etc. The house was lovely. The backyard has a great view. The property owner and Leonard were available by phone and extremely helpful. Leonard has knowledge of great hikes, sights to see in the area. Would rent again.

I stayed for 3 wonderful winter months in this house for my Sedona visit. Family stayed with me for holidays. The home is cozy (2 fireplaces), full of natural light, spacious (2 living rooms)has a large fenced yard which was great for my dog. There's a lovely, shaded front courtyard with a soothing pond. The place looks exactly like the photos. The host, Laurenn, was very responsive and helpful. There's an onsite manager, Leonard, who lives in an attached apt; he's super nice and available for any immediate issues you need help with.
As others noted, the location is ideal--in a very quiet neighborhood great for walks and close to many restaurants and shops. I hope to return!

I will start with the positives! The owner was very responsive and helpful and we were able to check in early, which was greatly appreciated. The location is great!
Now for the not so great…While we understand the house is outdated, we were shocked to be using rags for towels. They literally were in worse shape than all my rags with frayed edges, bleach stains and soooo old! In all our times renting a place I’ve never encountered anything like it. All the bedding was old as well. The walls haven’t seen paint in years and years and we’re so dirty! While I think it’s fine to have an outdated place, some TLC and nice linens are a must. We found the place overall so disappointing, yet with so much potential. We had an unfortunate incident where the property manager entered our space during our stay without permission as well, which is why the low rating for property manager. It was completely unnecessary. We wouldn’t stay again unless they cleaned the place up and provided updated linens.

We stayed at this home for the second time in October 2022 (previously July 2020). Absolutely everything was fantastic and this was just what we were looking and hoping for. The owner was very responsive to pre-visit questions; details on the property arrived soon after booking. Check-in and -out instructions were easy to follow. Most importantly, there were no issues with this house or our 5-day stay.
Things to note:
* Amazing location 2 miles from downtown and also near plenty of restaurants, fast food, pizza and groceries.
* Working Internet which should be sufficient for Zoom or streaming from your favorite service. No, it's not super-high bandwidth but you get ~80 Mbps over cable with in-house mesh router setup.
* Plenty of supplies including kitchenware, condiments, soaps and shampoos, dishwasher and laundry detergents, etc.
* Extremely quiet and dark neighborhood just 0.1 to 0.2 miles off the 89A "main" highway through town.
This house is a find. As promised before, we'll be back!

We truly enjoyed our stay here. It was in a nice quiet neighborhood that was close to all of our favorite restaurants. We travel with our dogs, so thus was especially nice as the back yard is huge. We spent a lot of time out there ourselves relaxing by the fire pit, eating breakfast, ND doing yoga. We can't wait to come back again!

Very nice location and host very gracious by text. On property contact, Bill a very sick man.
Property is wore out. It needs a complete make over from carpets being cleaned to tile floor in kitchen being replaced and entire interior of the house needs a fresh coat of paint.
Nice place to stay if cleanliness is not important to you.

Thanks again Bill for all your great stories.

Perfect location
Stay was great for our group of 4 friends. Beds were comfortable, basic kitchen items sufficient. We didn't make meals other than a small breakfast once or twice. Location was perfect for all the activities we had planned. Use of laundry was very helpful. Bill was very welcoming, and helpful. Would stay here again.

Quiet Haven and near everything!
We had an excellent experience! We LOVED the front garden area- it was like being in a tree house! Front & back were fenced in which was great for our little dog. Home was very spacious. It was an extra bonus that the house water is fresh spring water! Within walking distance to a few restaurants and Whole Foods Market. We loved the caretaker, Bill! Wish we would have had more time to talk with him! Sedona trails never disappoint! We recommend this place!

Bill the property manager was super helpful. The house is old and has its own unique charm. The best part is the location. It is in a very quiet neighborhood and you can walk to all the basic stores. We spent a very pleasant Spring break.

I have mixed feeling about Quiet Haven in Lovely Sedona. First off - Sedona was awesome and this location was great! Within a short walk to the Airport Loop trail as well as several restaurants and other things, with easy access by car to the entire area. The place itself has some character and a lot of potential, but it is in desperate need of some updates and some deep cleaning. General cleanliness was not great with lots of cobwebs, splatter on bathroom walls and the kitchen backsplash and cabinets, and even mouse droppings on the top of the backsplash in the kitchen. Plus there were signs in the kitchen warning you about pests and the need to clean up after yourself. We also ended up have to wash all the dishes after finding several that were still dirty and grimy - just to be safe. There is also a live-in "caretaker" that lives in the small room attached to the front of the house. There were a couple time when my wife went out to run an errand, and he was standing there blocking her path to the front door when she returned. Don't get me wrong - he was a nice man and I believe his intentions were fine as he just wanted to mention something that he had forgot during the initial orientation, but it made my wife a little uneasy. Also, it does mention deep within the online description of the property that even though dogs are allowed, you're not allowed to leave your dog unattended. That wasn't mentioned during the initial orientation though, and I didn't read the entire description online when I reserved the property because it is very long - so my bad there I guess. That was disappointing though because we specifically rent stand-alone properties when we travel with our dog because we want to be able to go out to dinner and occasionally do other things without him - and we know he may bark and we don't want to disturb adjoining apartment or condo tenants. We've been traveling the country for the last 4 months with our dog and have stayed at eight other VRBO's during this time, but this is the first time we ran into this requirement. All in all, we were a little disappointed with our choice for our time in Sedona.

Thanksgiving in Sedona
Our family very much enjoyed having Quiet Haven as our place to land. The house was close to hiking, food and a quick ride to downtown. Bill, the caretaker, was a wonderful gentleman who was very helpful. A great place to unwind and recharge for the next adventure.

Worked for our needs, privacy for 3 adults, we all had separate "rooms" - one of us was on a blow-up bed in closed off TV room. Well stocked kitchen and pantry. Great location, convenient to all, across from Whole Foods and Szechuan Chinese Restaurant, next to Fresh and Natural Thai and down the street ChocoaTree Restaurant and Picazzo's Healthy Italian Kitchen and MORE! Near Airport Trail for great hiking and sunset views. House was comfy but a bit dated. Laurenn was great in attending to needs and Bill was the perfect onsite manager, all in all, a good deal for a fair price!

Great getaway!
We loved our stay in this home. The owner was in contact after booking our reservation, before we arrived, during our visit and after we left.
The house is in a perfect location, close to town but far enough from Hwy 89A you don''t hear road noise. You can walk to resturants, grocery stores and drugstores. There is plenty of space to sit the fountain for morning coffee or the large back deck and look at the stars.
The house is very liveable and inviting. The kitchen has everything you could ever need.
The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. Two large closets for storage. Water pressure is great for both bathrooms.
The house has a AC/evaporative system which worked very well on several hot AZ days. Books, DVD's , large screen TV, good WiFi, washer dryer and BBQ grill. All made for a very comfortable stay.
I can't say enough good things about this property.

The Perfect Stay
I have nothing but good things to say about this property and the owner. The owner was in contact with me soon after we committed to our reservation. She then followed up just before, during, and at the end of our stay.
The house itself is in the perfect location--just off Highway 89A (the main "road" through the town of Sedona). It's far enough from 89A so that you hear absolutely no noise but close enough that you can get to anything you want in minutes. It is located in the commercial area of Sedona with easy access to multiple grocery and drugstores and restaurants. Located in the woods, there is plenty of space in the front and back outside sitting areas to watch the stars at night (and dark enough to do so).
The house itself is very warm and inviting. The kitchen comes stocked with pretty much everything you'd find in your own kitchen, including appliances (big and small), plenty of silverware and dishes, and even most of the condiments and extras insuring you really only have to provide the food and drinks you want for yourself or family.
The beds--one master and two twins--were quite comfortable and there are plenty of extra sheets, blankets, and pillows. There are also at least two couches large enough to curl up on for a nap--or to sleep the entire night. The bedrooms have large closets that open up to store pretty much everything you bring with you.
Important things: plenty of water pressure in both bathrooms; the AC--an evaporative design--provides plenty of cold air for even the hottest of Arizona Julys. Washer and dryer are large and modern models. Ice maker in the fridge works well. Good quality large TV in living room and even a big selection of DVDs to watch on the included DVD player. Internet (with WIFI) is quite sufficient for multiple users, streaming, or holding video conferences (should you decide to make this a working vacation, that is).
Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this property and I hope that doesn't mean I can't find availability there the next time my wife and I head to Sedona. It's a nice, quiet retreat that allows you to quickly return to civilization the moment you get hungry or decide to explore the area.

Spacious and good location
This home has plenty of room, both indoors and out. There is a shady courtyard in front with a fountain and a large backyard with a somewhat shaded deck. You have to walk up the residential street to see the incredible views but that is something fun to do. This property is located near many restaurants and hiking trails. Decor and fixtures are a bit dated. Property owner and manager were responsive and helpful.
