About this house rental
The Sunset House is nestled in the sand dunes of Great Sand Bay, the house derives some of its power from solar panels. Go to bed and wake up to the peaceful sound of the waves hitting the beach. You will enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Superior sunsets (always different) in the evenings and later at times the Northern Lights. For the early riser a walk down on the beach you can also see the sunrise to the right or east. First floor of the Sunset House is a large carpeted living area and game room with Satellite TV with hundreds of channels, Ping Pong Table, Air Hockey Table, Hockey Foosball table, Dart Board and Stereo system. There is also a spare Refrigerator Freezer for extra groceries. The main floor Has a monster Fully Furnished kitchen with everything you need to prepare and serve most any meal. There is also a washer & dryer, dining room, full bathroom with shower and bath tub, fully furnished carpeted King Bedroom, Carpeted entertainment Room with 60" plasma TV with 100's of channels a DVR, VCR with hundreds of movies games, toys and puzzles. Very comfortable Lazy Boy full size sofa sleeper. Carpeted living room with Lazy Boy rockers and recliners full size pull out Futon, Library area with many history books about the area and many other book topics. Upstairs 2 fully carpeted fully furnished King Bedrooms one with walk out Glass balcony with table and seating for 2 over looking the beach and Lake Superior. Full Bathroom with shower upstairs. Huge Deck with Log and Wood Furniture Large Picnic table 1 gas grill and 1 charcoal grill. Enjoy the Sunsets, fires on the beach in the fire pit, Northern lights, or get up early and enjoy the sunrise on the 2 person swing with table or the other wooden beach furniture on the sand dunes overlooking Lake Superior.

Okay, house was accurately described. A few things not mentioned though. The 2nd refrigerator was not working. Didn't mention that have to climb stairs to get to main floor living area. The upstairs bedroom doors wouldn't shut, had to wedge cloth in door to keep doors from slamming in the wind. That said I still enjoyed the trip and the kitchen is very big, nice.

Wow! This house is absolutely beautiful and sits right on Lake Superior. It gave us that authentic "up north" cabin experience while keeping us completely comfortable and feeling right at home. The property owners were incredibly kind and helpful, and the neighbors were wonderful too. Whether you want to head out for day trips around the Keweenaw Peninsula or just stay put and enjoy the cabin, this spot is absolutely perfect.

This is a beautiful home in an amazing location if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life! We explored mines, multiple beaches, and multiple waterfalls, tasted delicious pasties and jams, and discovered birds and rocks that we had not seen before - mostly within 25 minutes of this home. The hosts were very responsive to questions or concerns during our trip. The house is decorated with many beautiful and unique items that are only in the UP. If you get "stuck" inside for a day due to weather, you won't get bored. There are books, puzzles, board games, and more to keep you busy. We did utilize the kitchen for most meals and there are plenty of plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, utensils, etc. for more than the two of us. The dishwasher works well to help clean up. The washer and dryer also work well, and I appreciated that the soap and dryer sheets were not strongly scented. We stayed for a week, and we could have stayed longer!

The property, location and work with hosts was excellent. Some of the "goods" had to do with cleanliness that needed to be addressed but us (i.e. the gas grill, some items in the kitchen). Also some of the table games (ie air hockey, hockey) were missing pucks etc or did not seem to be there functioning. Didn't bother me as much as kids
