The apartment was perfect for us. We liked having a patio to enjoy ourselves outside. We enjoyed exploring the area, the canal was in walking distance as was the Atwater Market. We were able bike along the canal to Old Montreal. The Metro was a five minute walk from our apartment and we found it a great way to get around Montreal.

My husband and I stayed in this lovely apartment for 5 nights. It is very clean and well stocked. The location was perfect for us; very close to the Lachine Canal. We biked the entire path and even rode into Old Town.
The water flow in the shower was great. Loved having the washer and dryer in the unit.
Communication with Romain was excellent.
The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of space in the apartment.
We hope to return to Montreal and would defend rent this place again.
It would not be appropriate for people with mobility issues, stairway is a bit steep.
Thanks for renting to us.

Amazing property , very comfortable beds , well functioning AC( nice for those hot Montreal days).
Well stocked large kitchen and loved the fact that it was a 4 min walk to the metro ( critical tool to get around Montreal ) !

This was our second stay at this apartment. It is clean, comfortable, close to an IGA and the bike path and has a great roof top deck to hang out on.

This apartment exceeded expectations. It was very clean, had everything we needed in terms of kitchenware and other amenities, ample space, and we found the beds to be comfortable. We have a 9 month old and found the apartment also appropriate for children. When we spent the day with a niece and nephew we enjoyed two of the nearby playgrounds, the splash pad and the pool. My extended family lives in Montreal so I’m familiar with the area, but this is a wonderful spot to experience real Montreal: start your morning at the Atwater Market for breakfast, people watch, hop in the pool (free) or play pétanque in the Square Sit George Etienne Cartier, and enjoy the shops and restaurants on Notre Dame. Plus it is easy to hop on the metro anywhere in the city or jump on a Bixi Bike along the canal to the Old Port. Romain has thought of everything to make your stay fantastic based on the guide to the apartment you will find on arrival. Enjoy!

The property was even better in person. The host was very communicative and left detailed instructions for our stay and suggestions for our trip. I would highly recommend this property.

The 2 bedroom apt in St Henri was not only spotlessly clean, it was also very well appointed and comfortable I can heartily recommend that anyone visiting Montreal should want to stay in this property.
The owner, Romain Lalieux was also the most accommodating and responsive person I"ve ever dealt with and I've stayed in many B&Bs and hotels.come. Romain wins hands down.

My husband and I stayed here for the thanksgiving holiday. The apartment is exactly as advertised. It’s clean, perfectly situated, and had everything we needed. Very highly recommended!

From initial booking to arrival, the experience was well organized and very professional. The owner was immediately reachable and available to help with questions right away. Super nice and respectful person!
The property is updated, clean and had everything you need. Even more than you would expect. Loved the outside deck area and two bedrooms across the unit from each other for privacy.
We would be most happy to return anytime!

Can't say enough about the communication and assistance we received during our stay. Management went beyond expectations when we requested a crib for our 15 month old. They even got him a high chair to use! Amazing! Made our travel much easier by not having to bring these things with us. Unfortunately, there were a few issues with our stay - all of which are subjective and not in the control of management.
Noise - because it is an older building, noise travels pretty easily. We were often kept up until past 2am because we could hear the guests upstairs, and it always sounded like they were wearing wooden shoes. I am sure they were not! But sadly that's how loud it was - so even if we managed to fall asleep, we would be woken up when they walked around the unit.
Beds - they were so loud and creaky! Not comfortable and definitely distracting.
I am only bringing these issues up for those that are sensitive to noise. If you are not - as most folks don't seem to be! - then this place is for you! The space is large, pretty clean, not cluttered, and near the subway station. If not for the noise and beds, our stay would have been pretty great! Sadly we were sleep deprived and couldn't wait to be home so that I could get some rest - an odd feeling since I am an avid traveler and have been to over 20 countries. I even dressed my son in layers so that his crawling wouldn't wake/disturb the guests below.
Finally, I do want to point out that the noise issue barely, if at all, came up in the other reviews, so please take this with a grain of salt - maybe we just happened to get really loud guests above us. We really are not noise sensitive and before I had a baby I enjoyed staying in hostels without issues.

Excellent. A spacious, comfortable, airy, well-furnished apartment with a large balcony/deck in a really quiet pleasant side street. A shop on the corner, a supermarket five minutes walk away, the large excellent Atwater Market about ten minutes walk away. Close to metro, four or five stops to city centre. Close to a range of restaurants in main street just round the corner. The apartment is immaculately clean and fully equipped. All facilities operated without a hitch. The owner is very helpful and responds very quickly to email messages. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable apartment. Five minute bike ride to Atwater Market. Excellent location for biking in either direction or across the St. Lawrence.Quiet street.

This unit is sparkling clean, bright and sunny, and has very nice furnishings. The apartment seems newly renovated. The location is convenient. Four blocks to the subway, and free on-street parking. The street is quiet yet only four blocks to a center with many restaurants.

Spacious condo (we are a family of 5) in a quiet neighborhood. Neighbors were very friendly. Parking was easy in front of condo and corner store within steps. Many restaurants and shops within a 5-10 min walk. Close to city transit but we never used it. We found parking to be easy all around Montreal, that includes downtown and Old Montreal. Highly recommend this place.

Great location - very convenient reach to restaurants, park for the kids, 24h/7 convenient store.
Very good explanation booklet by host.
We even went with the kids to the park nearby - lots of fun.

We had a nice time in Montreal, and it was due to the flat we leased being clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed the balcony porch and bikes.

This is a perfect place to stay for a small family: cool playground really close, Atwater Market walking distance and canal Lachine 5min away. The deck was awesome; we BBQ almost every nights. The place was very clean and as described in the add. The owner was very quick responding to any questions or issues.
Would totally try to stay there again on my next trip to Montreal.

If you want to experience Montreal as the locals do, this is the place. I loved walking across the street to the Depanneur for incidentals...ok..well..I mean...wine. Fantastic restaurants, Atwater Market and a run along Canal Lachine all walking distance. This was our 2nd time staying here and will be our Montreal home whenever we come to the city. Oh...one more thing for beer lovers....Brasserie L'Ambroise is a must and close.

we loved staying here - again! i think this was our third visit over six years or so. we love the location and the accommodations. the building was nicely restored a number of years ago and it is so comfortable. enjoyed the deck. the lachine canal is wonderful for bicycling. do stop at the St-Ambroise Terrasse! we brought 2 bikes and borrowed one. walk to metro is easy for quick access to the city. loved walking to the Atwater Market. had great meals right on Notre Dame O. this time my sister stayed in Galler 1. so much fun and so convenient. thanks Etienne.

The location of the apartment is very convenient to the subway. Then neighborhood felt safe. There are also lots of nearby restaurants within 10-15 min walk. The apartment was a good size for our family of four. Unfortunately, during our stay there was an ant problem. We saw a few stray ants initially and then on the 2nd night they were all over inside our luggage, on the dining table, etc. It was puzzling because any food we had was placed in the refrigerator. Thankfully, it seemed to be just confined to the main living/dining space and not the sleeping rooms. Etienne sent someone to spray but that didn't help and we were battling ants for 4 nights of our 5 night stay. It was unpleasant. In addition, when we arrived the in-unit washer had an out-of-order sign, and after we inquired, the owner gave us access to the garage washer/dryer.

Our experience staying at Gallery 2 met or exceeded those recorded by previous reviewers. The apartment is spacious, impeccably clean, well appointed and very homey and comfortable. John met us as agreed to show us around and was warm, welcoming and helpful and the bagels and cream cheese were most appreciated and a great, typical Montreal greeting! The apartment is ideally located in walking distance to everything, including the Metro which connects you quickly with downtown and virtually anywhere else in the city. It is also a 10-minute or less walk to some great restaurants on Notre Dame Street, which a local newspaper called Montreal's' 'hippest' new restaurant district that still has a 'village feel'. The whole area has that feel. This is an authentic Montreal experience, in an historic district, in a character property, renovated and maintained to the highest standards, by caring an welcoming hosts. We hope to stay there on all of our Montreal trips! Merci - Fred and Karen.

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Clean, comfortable, and well located. It was the perfect stay for us. And the fresh bagels prompted us to go to the bagel factory to bring some home! Thank you, we'll definitely stay there again on our next visit to Montreal.

Nice sized apartment. Perfect for us and our four year old. Close to two playgrounds and the IGA plus low key restaurants. Easy walk to the Metro and Atwater market, which is fabulous. Loved having the deck for dining al fresco. Funky mixed neighborhood.

As advertised. Easygoing host (John). Delicious bagels. Quiet. Nicely furnished and equipped. Comfortable bed. Good shower pressure. Air conditioning appreciated given the 35+ temperatures. Good location. Parking manageable (it's free). Compared to some other locations in Montreal, able to park within a couple of blocks.

Great apartment! Jane met us on arrival and made the check-in process quick and easy. She gave a good description of local resources and sites as well as welcome bagels :) This location was only 5 minutes away from the metro and IGA. We did not have a vehicle and managed to commute easily (and quickly) on the metro. My children enjoyed the play & water park just minutes away and I enjoyed walking along the canal. We would definately recommend this home for any length of stay.

Jane, John and their son made us all feel welcome and were a never ending source of information and ideas for trips. They went out of their way to help us with our every need. Very clean apt with nice furnishings and as we realized the day we left, all of the tasteful artwork was done by Jane. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends! Thanks for a great stay!

Great layout, quiet ideally located apartment near good restaurants, Atwater Market, Place St. Henri metro stop, canal bike path. Owner has bike rentals for cheap and tons of great information on things to do and the immediately surrounded area. Great location for family with kids, with splash park nearby as well as the bike path. Would stay there again if in Montreal!

We enjoyed the apartment very much, it's located near the Atwater market for shopping and the canal for biking and only a couple blocks from the metro to explore the whole city. We stayed a week and never needed to use our car. Friendly owners, would recommend.

We love Montreal and we love John and Jane. They are perfect hosts. This was our 5th visit. It is our home away from home for a week each year. The nearby Lachine Canal is a perfect place to ride the bicycles they rent. The nearby metro gives easy access to everywhere you want to go in Montreal. The immediate neighborhood has lots of good places for coffee and meals. Nearby Atwater Market is a treat. We will be back again next year.

The apt is close to the metro and dozens of great restaurants. There's a corner store, quite literally on the nearest corner. It feels like home, fully equipped with a washer and dryer, BBQ, inviting deck, etc. Easy stay and friendly owners who are responsive. 5 stars! Hope to come again soon!

This rental was the best thing I could have hoped for for my stay in Montreal. The condo is located only 4 blocks from the nearest Metro station making citywide travel a breeze! The neighborhood where it is located is very quiet, a perfect place to get away from the bustle of normal life.
The convenience of having a grocery store nearby was great, but even better was the 15 minute walk to the Atwater Market. This outdoor market was a food lover's paradise, featuring fresh vegetables, fruits and meat. In addition, there are specialty shops for fish and cheese. Magnificent!!!
In addition, the condo is located about 5 blocks away from the Canal, which is gorgeous for walking on or for running on. It was truly a great way to see a different side of Montreal.
John, the own, was incredibly pleasant to deal with. My friends and I felt well taken care of. We were provided with numerous pieces of informative literature documenting the layout of the city and local attractions. Even better, John has compiled a list of local eateries and given a rating to each one. We found his ratings to be dead on...and highly recommend the Indian Restaurant he highlighted. Just as he said, questionable service but excellent food. GO!
The home itself is incredibly clean. The two bedrooms where nice. The bathroom was very nice. The washer and dryer were very convienient.
The kitchen has enough pots and pans, etc, to make a good meal.
I would not stay anywhere else! Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

We stayed for a week in the second floor unit and had a great time. It was spotlessly clean, nice and modern and even displayed Jane's wonderful artwork on the walls. We have honestly never slept in a more comfortable bed while traveling. We wanted to take it with us!
The apartment is mere blocks from the Metro which we used extensively, the Lachine Canal which we rode and ran along almost daily and the wonderful Atwater Marker where we shopped almost daily too!
Thanks Jane and John (and the woman who came to clean- sorry we can't recall her name) for a great experience. We highly recommend staying here while in Montreal and if we find ourselves returning to Montreal we will definitely stay with them again.
