Absolutely enormous room for central London, with a kitchenette and a huge bath. Opening windows (hooray!) and my room was away from the noise of the street. Just a really nice room. Amazing.
There's a horrible, horrible grinding/mechanical noise in the hotel which I think may be from the lift/elevator moving up and down. I thought it was someone drilling at first but it kept repeating from every minute or so to every few minutes, plus it was on a Sunday evening when trades normally aren't working. Not really conducive to rest and relaxation but it did seem to stop or at least reduce at night so I could sleep.
I did consider asking to change rooms but a quick walk up and down the floors to see if I could locate the noise I figured that I'd probably hear it wherever I stayed.
The bed is not the most comfortable. The windows are in need of renovation.
Breakfast was disappointing - the fruit wasn't good quality and it was just a poor variety of stuff included with a pot of gnarly percolator coffee. They wanted an extra £5 for a "full English" which wasn't made to order, it's just a hot buffet sat being overheated - this is usually included with the price in most hotels I stay in.

The kitchenette - meant I could enjoy overnight oats!!
My room was rather hot although in fairness an enormous fan was provided. Shower screen a bit wobbly

Location was really good and that's where it ends
Rooms are tired, no air con the rooms and hotel are hot and stuffy, paint peeling off woodwork, divan bed tatty and ripped, holes in bed sheets, light constantly flickering above bed. The whole place could do with a makeover, rooms are dark and dingy, pubic hair and food stains on furnishings, not what I have come to expect from a so-called 4* hotel I've stayed in better travel lodges. I will not be staying at this hotel again!!! Over priced and over rated I would say a 2* at best

The hotel was located right across from the British Museum in a quiet and green neighborhood. It was very convenient yet calm. Every staff was very friendly and helpful during my three nights stay. I think I got upgraded (?) to a large and spacious room with an extra bedroom, which I very much appreciated and enjoyed.
The building itself is quite old while fairly well maintained. The lights are old fashioned but still do their job. I stayed in the lower floor (one level below the reception), and could hear the neighbors (especially footsteps from the people above me). But still it was very comfortable stay, and I have nothing to complain - especially at this price!

It was a 'bait & switch' we booked grqnge Buckingham & 5 days before we got an email saying they were doing renovations so they moved us & no one could confirm there were ANY renovations happening. Lost our kitchenette, full breakfast....

Good size room and bathroom. Great location for British Museum.
Lack of tea and coffee making materials, check in took ages. Bit old fashioned, could do with some updating.

Perfect location, executive suite was a brilliant size, free upgrade as we were moved to the hotel next door, also a free continental breakfast. The room was huge! Beautiful if not needing a slight lick of paint. Everything was clean, plenty of storage, bathroom was nice and clean. Bedding and room cleaned every day. The room also overlooked the gardens of the British Museum. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and a nice selection.
Nothing to say really apart from needing a little tlc.

The location is simply outstanding! As regards the accommodation, some details such as the bath, curtains , and a couple of other minor things, could work better. The staff is excellent.

The hotel was completely different than in the photos. The room was shabby. The curtains were dirty and torn.

Liked the kitchenette in the room
Room was quite warm in March, so think it probably gets too hot in summer

Fine building in a great location in the heart of Bloomsbury. The bedroom was very spacious and included a fridge and microwave. The staff at reception were helpful.
The decor was outdated but that was reflected in the price.
