This private, modern, iconic, William Krisel designed butterfly home and detached pool casita are ideally located just two blocks west of the vibrant downtown core and nestled in the heart of the charming Historic Tennis Club neighborhood. Located just just steps from both the famous Melvin's Restaurant (w/ 1950's "Rat Pack" style piano bar) and the always hip Avalon Hotel & Spa / Citron Bar & Restaurant, the location couldn't be more ideal for walking to nearby entertainment and sight seeing. Fully walled and gated backyard for complete privacy while enjoying the infinity edge pool and jacuzzi. Pool has an oversize mosaic bottom tanning shelf, South facing and an IPE hardwood deck with a modern, fire feature will keep you warm on those chilly desert nights. Pool deck has plenty of sunny / shade areas depending on your tastes and extra seating for larger parties. The modern, detached pool casita is designed as a second master with a full bath, indoor and outdoor showers, kitchenette with a separate, private entrance. This home may be available for private events and professional photo shoots. The home is located near the Avalon Hotel and Ingleside Inn and is perfectly suited for a bride/groom/family wedding preparation and/or a honeymoon suite. Please inquire with owner. First of all, the property absolutely does live up to the photos on the site, which is great. The property is first rate. Secondly, the instructions provided by the owner are simple, straightforward, user-friendly and comprehensive. We had one or two questions regarding the operation of the hot tub and the owner was immediately responsive and walked us through the process. Location is great, easy walking distance to the centre of Palm Springs. All in all a great experience and we all agreed we would love to return. Thanks for a great holiday!

This is our second time staying at this property. It was a bit chilly this January to enjoy the pool like we had hoped but the hot tub was great and comfortably accommodated six people. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals and snacks. Walking distance to downtown Restaurants made the stay very convenient.

We and our friends have traveled every year the first weekend of December to get the holidays kicked off and this year we chose to stay at the Butterfly house in Palm Springs. We loved the house, the location, closet space, lighting, the ease of entry & departure and our host!
All just fabulous and we would return in a heart beat. Our only yearning was for good coffee with an espresso maker or coffee grinder in the house. Even a drip coffee press would be welcomed. Other than that, all was great.
Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful rental home, very Palm Springs mid-century modern in great location close to downtown. Three bedrooms with comfy king beds, three bathrooms, including a separate casita affords lots of privacy for multiples sharing the home. Plus a fourth bedroom shares one bathroom. The pool, spa and deck are perfect! Luxuriously appointed. Michael is a fantastic host! Don't hesitate... We'll be back.

This house was a perfect place for our family vacation. The location was ideal just a few blocks from downtown. The house plus casita meant we could all spread out. The pool, patio, and hot tub were wonderful. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed all over the Palm Springs area, and this was one of our favorite rentals! It was a great space for 6 adults and one infant. The location, while backing up to several small inns, is very quiet and walkable to town. The house is in great condition and well-equipped.
Pieces of feedback: There are no blackout curtains and the home is very bright will all the windows, so that’s something to consider for sensitive sleepers. The knives could also use a good sharpen.
We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Fabulous experience
The property was a great space to have a low key poolside get together with friends. It was such an amazing space and the views were incredible. The location was key as we used Instacart a lot to receive groceries. We ended up spending most of our time out by the pool. The amenities were good and being gated made it feel like our own compound in the heart of the city. Overall, I would definitely come back.

interiors and relaxing outdoor spaces were the backdrop to a memorable vacation filled with hiking, biking, golfing, relaxing by the pool, sunset at Joshua Tree, the great spa at Avalon and many great meals. Truly memorable!

There's a bevmo one block over making snacks and drinks easy to stock up on. The house did have Brita pitcher in the fridge. We didn't cook on property but the kitchen seemed fully stocked with all the basics and we did notice the grill on the patio (maybe next time, as we will definitely be staying here again). We did the typical touristy stuff. The west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park was just under an hour. 20 minutes to El Paseo Shopping District in Palm Desert. Felt like a great centralized location. We used the pool and hot tub daily, the controls were really easy to understand and use. All the furnishings were very high quality and very comfy. The orange accents repeated throughout the house were a fun touch. The owner was very responsive and all the directions were very easy to follow. Checkout was one of the easiest I've experienced.

Stylish, comfy, relaxing getaway!
We’re three friends from NoCal who needed a change of scenery and a respite from crowds and Covid, and it was perfect. Quiet but an easy walk from restaurants, shopping and the art museum. The house, pool and spa area are bright and perfect for lounging. It would’ve been fun to have more people as the house would easily fit 6 or even 8. Responsive owner who lives locally. Highly recommended!

Fantastic house and experience all around
Great location - short walk to Palm Canyon Drive and great shops and restaurants., and a short walk to the mountain trail entrances for those who like hiking. House was perfect for a small group of friends to spend a week together. Wonderful layout: open kitchen/dining/living room with a gas fireplace that opened up to a pool and spa. Bedrooms were comfortable with nice amenities. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the beautiful casita. It was so nice and easy to walk downtown to shop and eat! Main house might be ready for a little refresh, but the linens were lovely and we slept like babies.
