This property was perfect for our family of six adults and four kids. We stayed during elk fest with elk just across the river in the open field. Then they crossed the river and were on our road. We also saw deer and turkeys next to the house. Home is well appointed with a deck next to the river. We caught several fish just out the back door. It is a short car ride to Estes Lake and the downtown area. Home is very comfortable. We recommend this location.

This home had everything we had hoped for in a vacation rental. The home was clean and spacious and accommodated our group well(we had older adults, young adults and two toddlers in our family). The location was perfect! The kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. Lots of tv's, games, books, you name it, this house had it.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the River Home - the space was large and well equipped, the location in Estes Park was convenient to everything we wanted to do, and we felt right at home!
Jane communicated effectively and was very helpful both before and during our stay. I don't hesitate to recommend her home to anyone seeking a relaxing and convenient stay in Estes Park!

This home has a wonderful location and is very spacious. It was a good size for our 11-person group and well-stocked with things we needed. We loved that the table could comfortably seat all of us so we could eat together. The hot tub was wonderful and we were able to easily cook several meals in the lovely kitchen. The owner also was kind enough to let one member of the group who forgot his pillow to return to the property and fetch it, which we appreciated.
A word of warning: prior to arrival, this owner created a stressful and unwelcoming environment, including calling me with her “concerns” about our group after she Googled us and/or looked us up on social media. For several years, our group of chosen family (11 working professionals, ranging from age 29-37), had been dreaming of a cabin weekend where we could play board games in the mountains. Upon booking, we were asked for our names, ages, and phone numbers, which I gladly provided.
Four days before our arrival, I received an 8 a.m. phone call from Jane. She stated she was “concerned” due to us being “young people” and that one of our friends “worked at a brewery.” I had never told her all our occupations, so she had looked us up online. My friend works in marketing at a brewery, and I felt he was discriminated against due to his occupation. I literally had to persuade her we didn’t have nefarious intentions. There were also cameras in the garage not disclosed in the listing description until after booking.

We had a family getaway for the Thanksgiving week. The Bear House offered plenty of room for our families- including a layout that allowed the little ones to go to sleep and the adults to be able to make noise in living areas.
Also close to Rocky Mountain Park and downtown Estes Park.

It is a beautiful setting for this home. It worked out well for our group of 12 and we would stay again if we are back in the area

This house was perfect for our group of 10. We had family members from 1 years old to 82 years old. The layout of the house with minimal steps was perfect for our family. The house was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was very well equipped and the large dining room table was perfect as we prepared and ate most of our meals there. The setting next to the river is scenic and relaxing. The owner contacted us shortly after we arrived and again later during our stay to make sure everything was ok and asked us if anything needed attention. She was very responsive to any question we had. I would stay here again if our future travels bring us back to Estes Park.

The home is beautifully maintained and has all the things needed for a relaxing stay overlooking a lovely river. The host communicated with prompt responses and seem to genuinely care that we had wonderful time. And we did. Beds were comfortable, home was clean, kitchen was well stocked and TV system made movie night fun. We’d love to return. Thank you

Our family came to Estes to enjoy the autumn color and this home did not disappoint! The location, right on the river with views of Rocky Mountain National Park, could not be beat! We got to see a herd of elk right across the water, just feet away from the back patio. The home was incredibly clean, had beautiful, rustic decor and provided plenty of space for our group of 9. We spent a lot of time outdoors and very much enjoyed the back views, listening to the river, and stargazing while relaxing in the hot tub. If you’re looking to book a family vacation, look no further! This house has it all! Thank you Jane for sharing your lovely home with us!

Absolutely positively wonderful! We have been coming to Estes Park from Tx, every other year for over 25 years. Our family has grown over the years from 4 to 10. This house, has been by far the BEST! Loved everything about it-the location, the layout, & the personal service from Jane. Our plans are to be back to Estes & stay here again & again! Thank you, from a grateful family for helping to be a part of our special memories! We are blessed & may you be also! Duane & Susan H.

The house was great and we had lots of room to spread out. The outdoor area is very nice and we all enjoyed sitting out by the river. The kitchen is fully stocked and we cooked several meals. The kids played lots of air hockey and pool and spent some time in the hot tub. We had a large elk right outside the house. It was very comfortable for our extended family of ten.

We had a wonderful time with family. The house is in a great location. It’s close to town and close to the National Park. We would stay here again!

The house and property are wonderful! We all had a great time here. The kids loved the air hockey and ping pong. Adults loved the views and the quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of pots, pans and anything you need to cook. Many spices! We appreciated the host checking in with us. There was an issue with the hot tub, but she immediately arranged for someone to come and fix it and we were able to enjoy it for our stay. If you have a big family I would highly recommend this property. Plenty of room for everyone to have fun or quiet time to themselves. You will see elk, deer and other wildlife. Beautiful!

We had a very nice stay in Estes Park. The house is located close to town and is in a beautiful area. We watched the elk across the river every day and enjoyed listening to the river as we sat in the hot tub. The beds are very comfortable, kitchen well stocked and family and dining rooms are great for a group. The owner was very responsive, checking in with us once we arrived and following up the day we left. Great time!

Our overall process is a 5*! All the way from booking to check out. The owner kept in touch with us throughout the weekend as well. We spent the weekend with a group of friends and we had a blast! We cooked our meals and hung out. The layout of the house was perfect for us! We’re interested in staying here again soon. We highly recommend this property!

Beware: The owner of this property is NOT AN HONEST BROKER... We had one heck of a time dealing with this host. She will slap on extra fees after your check out. When confronted she is rude and uncooperative. The beds are worn out, the internet does not work in more than half of the house. The house, hot tub and property was not properly cleaned from the guests before us, the air hockey table doesn't work, and if you have any questions during your stay she is very very rude when responding. She charges large cleaning fees and expects you to wash all towels and linens before your 10am checkout. I would steer clear of dealing with this host.

We experienced incredible scenery, a warm & comfortable house and close proximity to most of our activities! Everyone savored the view out the back door and the snow that arrived before we did. The kitchen was amazing to cook and serve food in. The huge table fit our group of 11 and worked well for many game nights. The couch fit many as we watched Sunday football after the wedding. Thank you Jane for allowing us to enjoy ourselves in the beauty of Estes Park!

We rented this house for a small family reunion in Estes Park in November of 2022. I can’t say it enough how much we loved this house. The home had everything we needed and more. The location was great, close to everything but yet secluded on a beautiful road. The home had more than enough room for everyone. Coffee and elk in the morning and a nice cocktail in the hot tub at sunset. Thank you, Jane, for making our trip to Estes Park one for the record books!! Highly recommend this home!!

Jane's home was perfect for our group (4 couples) - there to enjoy RMNP. The home is spacious, clean & well equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect, right between downtown Estes & the entrance to RMNP. My favorite part was sitting out back w/coffee or cocktail . . . over looking the river with a daily visit (across stream) by the resident bull elk. Great Place!! Thanks Jane

A beautiful property with tons of wildlife interaction. Very close to town and great for access to Rocky Mountain National Park. I cannot imagine there is a better property for enjoying a family visit to Estes Park. The owner was very attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend this property for a family visit.

Liked that bedrooms and main living/dining area were apart from each other. Location felt very secluded and yet close to everything the area has to offer. In home entertainment tremendous - tvs / hot tub / pool, air hockey, pingpong table apparatus / books / videos / board games and puzzles / fishing / and visits from local wildlife which could be seen because of all the large windows overlooking the river with it's constant and sitting sound of rushing water. The kitchen was well stocked - the washing machine wonderful. The access to the river was a bit challenging for young children and required close supervision. We missed having a lawn area for games but made do using the spacious driveway. You can't get much closer to the rocky mountain national park entrance than here. We had a fantastic time here!

This house couldn’t have been better for our extended family of 11. The beautiful spot felt extremely secluded and peaceful, and yet was so conveniently located to town and Rocky Mountain National Park. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds incredibly comfortable, the home filled with games, books, and lots of extras that made our stay so easy. We enjoyed patio cocktails with the sunset every night and let the river lull us to sleep each evening. We even saw a bear hanging out in the tree right next to our deck! It was a fantastic experience, tons of space, lots of amenities, conveniently located and wonderfully responsive communication with the owner. Highly recommend!

Our favorite place to stay in Estes Park
We love Jane's property! She's thought of everything. This is the second time our extended family has stayed here and we loved it just as much as we did 8 years ago! We had a group of 12 and the house easily accommodated all of us. We hiked, white-water rafted, went horse-back riding, etc but we also just enjoyed being home and sitting out back listening to the river, relaxing in the hot tub or playing ping pong on the game table in the great room. (That was a big hit with the cousins.) We didn't watch a lot of tv but there are a ton of movies and channels to watch. The house is well-equipped with every appliance and dish you could need. There is also plenty of space to store your own groceries, etc. The house was so clean inside and out. No cobwebs in the corners or dusty areas. It is very well maintained. You do have to provide your own toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags beyond a few starter ones but Jane let us know before we arrived so we planned accordingly. The location is excellent. It is minutes to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance and minutes to downtown Estes Park and grocery stores. One of the highlights of this property is the river out back, it provides a beautiful backdrop to everything and the sound is so peaceful with the window open at night. We all felt like we were home. But with better views.
