This is the second time we’ve stayed with Sally in beautiful Pacific Grove. We love the views and had a great time bbq’g while watching the sunset! Love the area!

We were in town for a wedding and enjoyed this location so much! Fell in love with the view!

The previous reviews are a fair summary. Location is great, right on the ocean, short walk to the aquarium and Cannery Row and also to downtown Pacific Grove. Lots of lovely restaurants near by. Beds are super comfy, we had a great nights sleep. Aquarium passes are a nice gesture. Kitchen and bathroom need serious investment. The main bathroom has mould on the shower curtain and the grout around the bath is horrible. Towels are not Egyptian cotton but a mix of old dated beach type towels. Kitchen - lots of the appliances were not working properly including dishwasher and washing machine. Lots of the crockery / cutlery / pans were dirty and we had to wash before using.

It was bigger than expected, with two good sized bedrooms, and two bathrooms, a living area and kitchen, and a deck to enjoy the view from. We'll be back regularly!

We had a lovely stay at Sally’s in July. The apartment is in a perfect location to explore Monterey peninsula, with the added bonus of a couple of aquarium passes (tip: for younger kids 8-12ish try the scuba experience there!). Easy access and clear comms. As others note in reviews, the apartment and contents has its own style, busy with lots in there and you very much feel like you’re in someone’s home - but it’s as per the listing images. Thanks Sally!

The location is excellent and but our stay is less than 2 stars! Beds are comfortable. We enjoyed our vacation at Pacific Grove area. But we regret that we did not read the reviews carefully before booking. We have been using various bed and breakfast platforms for over 9 years for most if not all of our travels. This was the first time that we ran into this problem - the place was not cleaned: dirty bed linens were left on the sofa in the living room; All towels on the towel rack in the bathroom were damp from previous use; We were not sure if the bed sheets were fresh as the pillows were thrown over each other. It feels like someone left the place in a hurry. The worse was calling and multiple texting to the owner received no response over the span of two days. Sally finally texted back 5 hours after we checked out saying that she was traveling with no cell phone service…. Shouldn’t there be a backup host??? Since the place was not cleaned, shouldn’t the cleaning fee be refunded. We also agree with multiple other reviewers that the place is very cluttered and too much unnecessary stuff. There is no room for our luggage. Not sure how anyone can even vacuum the place. Finally, this is not a bed and breakfast place as there is no coffee, the minimum requirement for “breakfast”.

Our family had a great time at the property. We were able to walk to the aquarium and Cannery Row.

Loved walking the trail along the beach, reading on the patio, balcony and beach. Weather was perfect!

The location of this property is perfect, facing a lawn/park area, the other side of which is the sea. Quiet, smart neighbourhood and walking distance to shops, restaurants and about 20 mins walk to Monterey & the Aquarium which is worth a visit (2 free passes in the property). Sally was prompt and helpful with my queries - even buying 3 fans in advance when I voiced concerns about the heat having read a review saying windows wouldn’t open. Only negative is that the actual property is so full of furniture and nick nacks that you struggle to find anywhere to put your own stuff. It would be impossible to have small children with you as every surface is covered with glass bowls and ornaments. There is no room to put your own food items so you have to use the kitchen counter and then have no where to prepare food. Also concerned to see no battery in smoke alarm.

If you stay here, prepare for limited mobility and storage, mold, poor air circulation and barely functional appliances and shower pressure…pictures do not match property.

This place is amazing. It’s like visiting a friends house. We spent most of our mornings o the deck or patio. The view is gorgeous. We walked a lot but mostly stayed at the house as it was so lovely and comfortable!!! Beds were super comfy. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was so well stocked We can’t wait to go Back to Sally’s place! We’ve stayed in 4 places in Pacific Grove and Sally’s outshone them All. You never need a car. You can Walk to so many things. Thanks Sally for making our 29 th wedding anniversary perfect! MJ and Denny

Short stay at this property but it is in a great location close to many things and the parking was easy. Very cute property and would definitely stay here again!!

The location could not be better—10min walk to the aquarium and downtown Pacific Grove. We walked on the coastal path to get everywhere we needed to go. Definitely a lot of furniture and miscellaneous items, as other reviews complained about, but everything was clean and comfortable. We sat out on the balcony every night and enjoy the in redouble view and great sunsets. We’ll be back!

Perfect location in between Carmel and Monterey with a beautiful view of the ocean. Nice to wake up with a cup of coffee and walk the shoreline.

The location was great. The kitchen was nice and functional. There are some problems that need to be addressed: . There is a noise in the walls of the master bedroom that cycles on and off continuously and disturbs sleep. . The unit stayed around 76-78 degrees with the heat off. The owner said the boiler room was under the apartment. You are unable to open the windows so impossible to modulate the temperature. . Way too much clutter and nowhere to lay out suitcase or personal items. . Mold on grout in bathtub and shower curtain liner needs changing. More attention to cleaning and organization of closets. . Unable to use TV for first two days. Owner did come over to fix but should have been checked in between guests. Much greater attention to detail would be needed before I would stay here again.

While looking at Pacific Grove for two best friends of over 50 years to get together for a long awaited reunion, there was no doubt in either of my minds of where we both wanted to stay. This unit was perfect. Directly across the street from the ocean, the ambience was great, and the location made things perfect. recommend this in a very unique unit. We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach House - excellent location!

Wish I could give Sally a 5, but I can’t. As many previous guests have mentioned, this condo is across the street from the Bay. You can see (but not hear) the ocean from the deck. You can take a leisurely stroll along the water, or walk to the aquarium and even to downtown Pacific Grove. Really nice! On the other hand, the condo had not been cleaned when we arrived. Sally answered the phone on the second attempt and called the housekeeper. We left, so that the condo could be cleaned. Needless to say, the cleaning was done in a hurry. The refrigerator was not touched (many items from previous renters), the microwave, etc. We wiped everything down ourselves. Many of the windows don't open because the window cranks have been stripped, including all of our bedroom windows. I wouldn't want to rent this condo if the weather forecast calls for warmth. On our first evening, the condo was cold, but we didn't dare turn on the heat. Although there are baseboard heaters, the covers for 3 were missing and long drapes hung onto the heating wires (scary!!!). Instead, we used the two space heaters and gas fireplace. Although the description of the property mentions wonderful thick Egyptian towels and high count sheets, the linen closet is filled with a tumble of towels and sheets, many old and faded, some newer. The bottom sheet on our bed was old and didn't fit the mattress, so we needed to pull it over every morning. I looked through the closet and never found those sheets or towels!

Great views and accessibility.

Wonderful place to stay in a great location. You can see the otters playing in the water just across the street and breathtaking views there, as well as great path to run/walk on. Grocery store near by, comfy beds, smart TV to watch your own Netflix or Prime shows, and plenty of room to spread out for the 3 of us. So much better than being crammed in a hotel room any longer and easy parking. Aquarium passes were a huge help as it’s quite a pricey place to visit! Would stay there again if we were back in the area and recommend without hesitation!

The location along Ocean View is perfect, and the view from the front balcony is exactly as the thumbnail picture appears. *However,* NONE of the windows open and every window is covered with barely-functioning blinds. Thus, in order to *see* the view, you have to be either outside the property or on the balcony. NONE OF THE WINDOWS OPEN (except the window in the shower). Second, there are indeed knickknacks *everywhere*, to the point that it's hard to find a place to put your own travel stuff. We ended up keeping our suitcases on the living room floor because there's so little space in the bedrooms. (Seriously, the walk space around the bed is tiny because there are so many dressers everywhere). I'm not going to critique the style of decorations, because everyone has their own personal taste. There are notes everywhere, with instructions for what to do and what not to do. (For instance, the furnace note essentially says "We've never used the furnace, so if you turn it on please make sure there's no furniture covering the furnace outlets"...which seems like a fire hazard!) Speaking of fire hazard, there's a towel warmer (which we didn't dare use!) with electrical cords for the TV *draped over the heating coils of the towel warmer*! I don't mean to be too harsh--the location was truly idyllic, and thankfully my daughter and I travel with very simple needs and with not much stuff. The kitchen appeared to be well-stocked (cabinets bursting with pots, pans, and plates etc) and everything was clean. I think I'd worry about bringing small kids, since there's just SO MUCH STUFF EVERYWHERE. But we enjoyed our stay.

The views and location were excellent. Monterey Bay and walking path right across the street. Aquarium passes were a bonus - very nice aquarium. Could have used a little more cleaning and decluttering to maximize enjoyment of the great views.

this is my go to place when staying in this area without my grandchildren. the view is amazing and location is excellent.

Great location. Close to all Pebble Beach courses, Cannery Row and the Wharf. Passes to the Aquarium was greatly appreciated. Had a great time!

This location was fantastic, we walked everywhere. Loved visiting the aquarium which we would probably would not have not done if Sally didn’t provide passes. The views were wonderful, the condo had everything we needed and Sally went above and beyond to return an item we inadvertently left behind. Would stay here again.

I really hate to leave bad reviews because I feel like most people nitpick about little things. That being said there are several issues with this unit. The listing photos are definitely not what it looks like now. The location and views are top notch. Perfect walking distance to everything and parking is great. The kitchen area is updated and has everything you need. The other complaints that people have made are valid. The place has way too much furniture and nit knacks and glass everywhere. Some of it is broken and chipped. And there is a piece of furniture and decor on every surface and space available. Every cabinet and drawer in the kitchen is so stuffed with items that there is nowhere to put your food except on the counter. You have to move numerous items just to sit at the counter or use the kitchen table. The bathrooms definitely have mold that is not from living on the coast. There is no exhaust and the windows don’t open. Same issue with the bedrooms, closets and tops of dressers filled with items. One closet is full of dirty decorative pillows and extra blankets that are in contact with a moldy wall. (Mold from the coast) We had to clean the closest before we could fit our luggage. Most windows in the unit do not open, they are stripped and do not turn and it does smell moldy. Definitely not a place to bring kids. I understand that this is an owner used condo but it is also being used as rental income. Do some major decluttering, clean out the drawers and closets, fix the windows and get some smaller furniture.

We enjoyed a nice weekend getaway with our grandson. The location and views are beautiful! The check in and check out process was easy. The condo was nice and had everything you could possibly need. We will book again in the future.

Including personal family pictures. Not sure that is really safe🤷‍♀️ . The two couches were really old and dirty. The shower in the hall had a lot of mold, on the shower and wall, and when I took a coffe mug out of the cabinet, it was dirty. So I washed dishes before I used them.

Property has everything you could ever need, and is very clean. Right across the street from the ocean and walking distance to restaurants and cannery - what more could you ask for!! Sally has made perfect use of every inch of the house which makes it accommodating to various situations, like having more people. There are a lot of very nice decorative touches. She has left notes around to help you avoid any issues that could come up - very helpful. This is my second stay and I hope to have more.
