Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam

Excellent location for all the places of interest. Meals in restaurant were good and staff were pleasant and friendly. Nice room.

Room was a little cool. Hotel dealt with issue and supplied a heater.

Room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was good, location was excellent and staff were helpful.

Amrâth is truly a grand hotel and especially beautiful to those interested in architecture and design from the early 1900s. While all amenities are modern and convenient, the charm of this grand building is reflected even in the details of modern refurbishing. Upon arrival for a two-night stay, we were first given a terribly dark small room. We immediately requested another room, and received (in the same price category) a "new" room in the newer part of the building. It was luminous, spacious, and had all amenities expected. We thank the reception staff for having allowed us to change the room before settling in.

Upon our early arrival at midday, we ate lunch at the Bar-Restaurant. We had Chicken Satay and Linguini pasta, and were not impressed; the kitchen seemed to cover the food with what tasted like pre-made bland sauces out of bottles. This made us decide to eat our dinners elsewhere.

Location was ok - not too far from the station and other attractions
