Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel

Spa is excellent, rooms very comfortable

No bathrobe or slippers in room. No WIFI signal in room and no 4G signal either. Car parking extra, a right performance having to register with the Car Park provider in order to pay the extra £15.20 Breakfast was very confusing. Tried to book breakfast included, although shown as an option online, it was not available. When checking in I was told it would be £16 each so I booked it. At breakfast I was told there was no booking, non-guests were £26.00 guests £20. In the end I got it for £16 (x5 people) and paid in the restaurant, but it was still added to my bill at check out. Overall really difficult check in and sorting out the bill.

Great Venue

Rooms look a little tired and could do with an update. Having said that, they are clean and acceptable for use. All staff are very welcoming and friendly. We ate in the hotel on our first night and although the food was lovely it did feel somewhat overpriced. Great location within easy walking distance of Bath. We walked in and out every day. We had some inconsistencies throught out stay. Bottled water in our first room, but none in our second room (we had to move rooms as we had no hot water!). Room not being made up when requested. Dirty cups not replaced. I just feel attention to details was lacking somewhat.

A very classy hotel with exquisite interiors. It is set in a vast green area featuring many trees, sculptures, and staircases. The room was huge, with a balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfast was excellent.

My only regret is that I stayed for just one night.

Our room was lovely and both the concierge and the young man who helped us with our bags were very nice.

Barman was abrupt and rude to other customers. There was no beer at the bar, only larger or a bitter. Our bed was very firm. Our door keys had issues while we were there and we were walking back and fourth to reception (we were not in the main building so this was a bit of a trek in robes as we had been in the spa!). The paths in the ground need resurfacing as they were lethal (there were signs, but that doesn't change the fact they are falling apart and I went over on my ankle). The spa did not inform me that there was a separate weekend rate charge for treatments despite booking in person. Also, we had to get the Aircon in our room looked at as it kept turning off after 10minutes they did get it fixed.
