About this apartment rental
This newly renovated apartment is housed in a newly restored historic building, on the fourth floor. The apartment is located in the heart of the city, the canal district. 300 Mts from Anne Franks house and the Wester Church. The chimes of the Westerkerk join in every hour. .... yet away from the noise of the city. Located on the edge of the “negen straatjes”, the place to be for shopping and dining. Here you will find numerous high-end shops, coffeebars and restaurants. Numerous sightseeing activities and museums within walkin distance. Excellent public transport connection nearby at the Westermarket.
It is perfectly suited for families with children. Please note that there are no cooking facilities (no stove, oven or microwave). There is a toaster, electric kettle, Nespresso machine with milk foamer and other basic kitchen utilities. There is a dining table and sitting area with wifi.
The apartment is located on the fourth floor and there is no elevator.
Parking
There are public parking spaces but due to the apartment's central location it's quite difficult to find an empty spot and it will cost you € 7,50 per hour.
Q-park on Marnixstraat is only a 10 minute walk from the apartment but €45,- per day. They have more parking garages though and those further away from city centre might be cheaper.
Parking Centrum Oosterdok is a parking garage on Oosterdoksstraat 150. €25,- per day and about a 20 minute tram ride or 30 minute walk from the apartment.
The cheapest option is Park and Ride on the edges of the city (€8,- for the first 24 hours and €1,- per day after that). You have to travel into the city centre by public transport though. Very good location. Close to shops and dining. Charming apartment. Be aware that the stairs to the apartment are steep and narrow. Not for someone with mobility struggles. But it is a great view from the top floor.

The unit is exactly as described and pictured in the listing. The location is perfect and was easy bus ride from the airport with a short walk to the building.The stairs are typical Amsterdam, not US. But I managed easily carrying bags up to the top and I’m 73. If we are ever back we would stay there again, no problem.

Making the reservations and communication with Roos by email was good. However, it would have been most welcomed to meet the host. There was no communication in person with the host though she lives on the next level down.
