Waves, Rodanthe and Salvo are the villages closest to attractions in Manteo, Nags Head and Kill Devil Hills. This luxury resort home is located less than a mile from Real Watersports and Kitty Hawk Kite complex's as well as walking distance to shopping and several restaurants. 4wd beach access ramp only 2 miles away house is right on the bike /walk path of the tri villages Hatteras Island encapsulates some of the best things the Outer Banks has to offer: history, natural beauty, exciting watersports, and quaint shops that stock items found exclusively in this region. Known for great fishing and clean beaches, Hatteras consistently attracts vacationers who are looking for a laid-back atmosphere by the water. Places to explore on Hatteras Island include the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Canadian Hole (famous among kite surfers), the towns of Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco and the extremely popular Hatteras Village. Cape Hatteras National Seashore The Cape Hatteras National Seashore is natural splendor at its best. As part of the National Park Service, this area that extends from Nags Head to Ocracoke Island boasts sparkling beaches, gorgeous sunsets, and lush maritime forests. At night, the pitch-black skies contrast the bright stars for some of the best star-gazing on the East Coast. Here, a plethora of activities can be explored: swimming, hiking, kayaking, fishing, boating and more. Drive your 4-wheel-drive vehicle onto the beach to easily access the water, or enlist the services of a local horseback riding company for an exhilarating tour of the area. It’s recommended that some time is spent in this gem of a park to appreciate all that it has to offer. Fish Along 50 Miles of Shoreline Fishermen are drawn to Hatteras Island mainly because the Gulf Stream is only a short 15-mile boat ride off shore. The waters of this natural phenomenon are home to many species of fish that anglers love to catch. Few places have fishing as great as that which can be found off of these local shores. Hatteras is renowned as a destination for fishermen of any ability from across the nation. And though surf-fishing or pier fishing can be a rewarding experience on the island, most prefer to try fishing off-shore via a private charter boat rental or by booking a spot on a fishing boat. Plus, if you are staying in a vacation home, you’ll probably have an adequately stocked kitchen to prepare your catch for the family dinner. Good luck hooking your catch! Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Rising up 210 feet in the air with swirling black and white stripes and topped with a glorious Fresnel lens is the iconic Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Completed in 1870, this structure is the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States and one of the most famous in the world. The light emitted from this beacon extends 20 miles out to sea—giving a warning to all mariners of the perilous Diamond Shoals that lurk just off the coast of Hatteras Island. Interestingly, almost 20 years ago, it too needed to be protected. In 1999, the lighthouse and its adjoining structures made headlines when they were successfully relocated nearly 3,000 feet inland to safeguard them from the encroaching sea. Visitors can still climb the lighthouse most months of the year, but keep in mind that children must be more than 42 inches tall. Off Road Vehicle Use on Cape Hatteras Many off-road vehicles (ORVs) may drive on the beaches of Cape Hatteras National Seashore, but only on specific routes established by the National Park Service (NPS). ORVs must be registered, licensed, insured, have no more than two axles, and carry a low-pressure tire gauge, shovel, jack and jack support board. Each ORV must purchase either a 10-day permit or an annual permit to drive on the NPS beach routes. Permits may be bought online at www.recreation.gov by searching for Cape Hatteras Off-Road Vehicle or in person at select visitor centers in Nags Head, Buxton, and Ocracoke. 4WD vehicles are recommended for beach driving, and tire pressure should be lowered to 20psi. Only specific vehicles are allowed on the beach (no motorcycles, campers, or ATVs) so please check restrictions before purchasing your permit. In addition we are taking all possible measures when cleaning following all guidelines of both the CDC and world health organization . Cleaning practices Cleaned with disinfectant All towels and bedding washed in hot water that’s at least 60ºC/140ºF High-touch surfaces cleaned with disinfectant (like countertops, light switches, handles, and faucets) You are encouraged to purchase Travel Protection / Travel insurance we offer very affordable insurance You will be responsible for any damage to the property caused by you or your party during your stay.

Pleanty of room and space for kids to roam and play. Great sunsets and moonrises. Fishing in the sound is not bad either. Somewhat secluded too (even though you're in town). We were there Sept in the offseason, but pizza was right down the street for a cheaper meal, or Neptunes for a little more exotic dish w/ cocktails. Property manager was quick to address issues and questions. We had a great time.

We had a wonderful time at this property. It's so pretty, you don't want to ever leave to go out sightseeing. We stayed on the back porch for 3 days looking at the kite surfers and the gorgeous sunsets. It's in a perfect location and we ventured to Corolla to see the wild horses one day and then went to Ocracoke the next day via ferry. We made wonderful memories and after staying on the "sound" side I don't know if we will ever go back to the ocean side. It's just so peaceful and relaxing. We did have a small issue on the day we checked in with the internet not working but the owner stayed in constant contact with us until it was operational again. He even checked in on us midweek telling us about the riptides. Very nice!

Just what we were looking for- lots of outdoor fun in a safe environment. Probably the best access to the sound we’ve had in the 30 years we’ve been coming to OBX.

This home is nestled somewhere between Rodanthe and Waves and has some of the best views and real water access to Pamlico Sound, as advertised. The house was spacious enough for myself and 6 "kids" aged 16-21. We brought SUP and kayak and a giant float that we anchored quite easy. Active! We stayed during the beginning of the island's offseason so some places were closed. However, there was plenty of everything you need at Waves Market or North Beach Groceries. Everyone is chill and relaxed. No one is in a hurry on island time. When Austin's Seafood opened mid-week we finally had the perfect seafood boil right at home. I brought everything, except the seafood, from home, but Austin's will sell you the complete package with potatoes and corn and spices if you need them. Donuts and Pizza from the Dough Shack was really close and equally delicious. Good winds restaurant was close and good, but I really can't wait to get back to the friendly staff and spicy tuna bites at Neptune's, which we discovered on our last night. The location is perfect for exploring other parts of the island. We went to the beach in Rodanthe almost daily. We made the short drive to Pea Island to explore the wildlife preserve and found a secluded gem of a beach hidden by a dune near the bridge to Rodanthe. The daytrip to Nags Head was somewhat disappointing since the riptides kept us from swimming but we did some shopping and ate at Bros., which is really good. It was great! We will return! South 12!

It was very relaxing to sit on the back deck to watch the sunrise and the sunset over the sound. I do wish the description of the private beach area was a little clearer as its not really a private beach as its big rocks and boulders lining the water. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Our family truly enjoyed staying here, everything was clean and fresh, the kitchen cookware was top notch, the house had essentially everything we could have needed and the owner was very quick to respond and send out a technician on the weekend to assist us with the HVAC! This was truly a five-star experience that we hope to repeat in the future!!

Beautiful Place, super views(s), sunsets,. Large Balcony. The house can sleep 8-10 people easily however misses chair(only 6) for the dinning area, can be managed with outside chairs at the limit. The CHARCOAL BBQ is at the limit(but mangeable) if more than 6 people. OVERALL EXPERIENCE SUPER, For ALL the guests during our time there !
