About this apartment rental
Le Papillon Penthouse enjoys one of the best locations on St. Martin, with many wonderful restaurants nearby and a beach that is close to private and ideal for long walks.
The building itself was finished in 2014 after a few years of planning. It was designed and built by a doctor who owned the property. The building is so well made that even with hurricane Irma we had minimal damage.
Simpson Bay Area is a great place. It is a nice combination of tourism and local culture. It used to be a fisherman's village and it still holds some of that charm. It is easy to walk to restaurants and shops so people do not need to rent a car to go to places. But when you are in the apartment or on the beach you are completely away from any outside world.
Overlooking the entire Simpson Bay beach, the comfortable 4000 sq. feet penthouse is equipped with everything a visitor might need. The long list of our luxurious amenities is shown below.

Layout of the penthouse:
The penthouse is located on the third floor of the building. And the penthouse itself takes up 3 floors, making the last floor the sixth floor of the building.
The first floor of the penthouse consists of the kitchen, living room, dinning room, one bedroom & bathroom, laundry room, powder room, and the main terrace. On the second floor you can find a master bedroom & bathroom with its own terrace and walk in closet as well as the last bedroom with its bathroom. The third floor is the roof top terrace with jacuzzi, summer kitchen, lounging and dining area.
A great selection of restaurants can be found within convenient walking distance. To name a few:
Skip Jack - local fisherman's restaurant
Top Carrot - vegetarian and healthy meals
Avantika - very elegant place with Thai cuisine
Sale & Pepe - great Italian place
Yacht Club - a great bar/restaurant to watch boats coming into the lagoon
Palapa Grill - known for great steaks and more
Atlantico - an amazing bakery
Roxxy - my personal favorite, located on Kimsha beach
Restaurants on our beach are Karakter, Mary's boon and El Zafiro.

It is hard to put this place into words. Myself and my guest were speechless when we each arrived. The colors, decorations and meticulous planning on each floor were impeccable. The views were insanely gorgeous and you can hear the sea waves lapping from every balcony, and there were quite a lot of balconies. When I slept in the Primary bedroom, all outside noise was shut out except for the sound of the waves. There are gates everywhere on the property so as 2 female travelers, we always felt safe. The elevator, assigned parking space and rooftop deck with its 360 degree views of paradise were icing on the cake. The beach is steps away from the property and the only way to describe swimming in it was both ethereal and languid. They even had noodles & float toys in a closet there so we could float for hours, which we did. People around the beach were all friendly. Beds were so soft and individually controlled fans and thermostats throughout the rental. The front of house had majestic water views and in back were gorgeous Mountain View’s along with marinas. There were food places and restaurants all around the location. I can’t wait to come back and stay again. Thank you Simona for being a wonderful host.

Amazing place! Top to bottom this place has it all. Well stocked with everything you’ll need for the week, and some extra touches such as coffee options, welcome beverages and more. Views of Simpson Bay beach, Princess Juliana airport and surrounding areas are unmatched! We got married on the beach in front of the condo and it was beautiful & stress free! 10/10 and will return again soon for sure!

Property has amazing views, housekeeper was very friendly, and host was very responsive and helpful. Nice interior decorating with modern feel. Host has gone above and beyond to ensure guests have everything they need for an enjoyable stay.
